I have pumped fuel here many times. I like this station. Usually good service and their machines are always working. Sometimes it can get real crowded here at a certain time of day tho. But i like pumping here at the pump. read more

Sadly disappointing. The customer service is lacking. My tire was low & this was the closest gas station after leaving my doctors appointment. My mother in law went to ask if they could turn on the air so I can pump some air in my low tire. The man told her no, she has to pay. So she came back, got $2.00 and went for change. After we paid the $1.50 in the quarters he gave us, still no machine working. So I walked and asked him to turn it on. He stated I had to pay the machine. I explained, I did in fact pay and it wasn't turning on. He very annoyed turned it on while I had to walk and hurry to pump air. Negative stars on the attitude & lack of customer service. I was under the impression gas stations give you free air for your car. Guess I was incorrect. read more

Very rude employees and high prices. They were so rude that I just decided to go to another gas station.

This place is horrible. I typically fill up at the Pico/14th station. The air pump they have which I've used for a decade was broken and they said take the receipt for your gas and head down to this location but be warned the owner of this station sucks. I had to fight the poor employee terrified of her boss to turn the air pump on for me. They wouldn't even help someone who needed air because their boss is abusive. Whomever owns this place is a jerk it seems and I hope I never have to come here again. Shame on you!!! Nothing but love and respect for the employee just doing the best she can. read more

I buy gas all the time. And they refused to let me use the air. I had to pay. Even though it's a state law.

Credit cards machine at the pumps are almost always out and you have to walk to the cashier to put gas in the car

Don't ever use this gas station. On two occasions, I've attempted to fill gas here, felt gas go through the pump handle, only to find out through my car's fuel gauge that no gas had been dispensed. I don't know if they have a defective pump or they are deliberately deceiving customers, but it is very suspicious. read more

I went in to grab some gum, the place had a bunch of flies and then once I bought my little gum packet. He gave me a dollar and 75 cents back for an item that cost a dollar 39!! Safe to say I won't be going back again. read more

FAQ Q: So, what makes this special? A: Did you not see the Two-Stars that I gave this place? The petrol is more expensive than other gas stations (say, on Cloverfield), they don't have a car wash or a service center. It's just expensive gas. Q: Then why do you go here? A: Pure convenience. I live real close to here. And it's one of those places that are open late where I can run down to buy a pack of smokes. Too bad they don't sell booze. Q: Do they charge you for water and air? A: Y'know, there was a time where you didn't have to pay for that sort of stuff. Nowadays, everyone seems to charge you a quarter or two just to put some air in your tires. What a hassle. FYI ... Cloverfield near the 10 freeway has a few gas stations that are a lot cheaper. Check it out. I only prefer chevron because of their TECHRON!! It makes a difference in how your car drives I swear !! It is not a ploy.

Good things: cheapest fuel in our area, big station. Bad: -the parking spots are not lined. Only one space for disabled people and it's very far from the store. -the store is extremely small and has no selection if items, that you usually need in road - impolite staff. read more

This is really a great gas station (and more), I recommend it highly! I went to exchange my propane tank, it was an easy experience and the gentleman gladly swapped the gas with a smile and some jokes. The lady behind the counter ran out to give me my receipt, which I had forgotten (but didn't even need). When they realized that I was walking the tank back to my place, they offered to drive it over there for me using a spare tow truck. Of course I declined, but they insisted, and once we got back to my garage, the tow truck driver checked the tire pressure on my car and bicycle, just as a courtesy for all the neighborhood people. Everything was in good order. Also as I was leaving, they handed me a token for a free tire pump, plus a $5 card off my next purchase. Now that's service! read more

Last Sunday I exchanged a propane tank at the Chevron in Santa Monica at the corner of 14th and Santa Monica. I brought the tank home and found that the valve is defective because no gas came out. I took it back immediately (within 10 minutes) to exchange it for a new tank and they said "No exchanges, no refunds". After calmly explaining the problem multiple times, and pointing out that the tank was still full and I had only been gone for 10 minutes, I could see I was not getting anywhere. I needed the tank that day so I asked if I could pay $25 for a new exchange, and she responded that they don't accept broken tanks. This is the point where I started laughing because I thought that she surely must be joking. She did, after all, just exchange my perfectly well functioning (but empty) tank for this full (but broken) one. I started looking around to find the film crew, thinking for sure I must be on one of those hidden camera TV shows. She said I should come back when her manager is there, but my work schedule makes that very inconvenient. She then tried to sell me the defective tank for $65. I went home to troubleshoot, thinking that perhaps my propane regulator emergency shutoff had somehow closed and gotten stuck, but the tank wouldn't work with other regulators either. There is clearly and obviously something wrong with the tank, not with me. So I took it back today (Saturday...6 days later) thinking the manager might be there, but the manager was not there and a new person repeated the mantra "No exchanges, no refunds", and "come back when my manger is here". This place really has the absolute worst customer service I've ever encountered. If you are thinking of exchanging a propane tank, DO NOT GO TO SANTA MONICA CHEVRON. I hope this review helps others avoid the frustration I have gone through. read more

What happened to this Chevron? This place used to be reasonably priced. Today, I gassed up for more than the three stations I passed in Brentwood. I really thought my Vons card discount would work, but somehow this system isn't working, either. This is a great place to go if you need to spend 20 cents more per gallon. No bueno! read more

I've been getting gas at this Chevron for many years. I used to work up the street and now my son goes to school close by. But after today I'll never go back. I had pulled over on the very edge of the property next to the alley before I was going to get gas because I had to do something on my phone. I was there maybe 6-8 minutes. Not blocking anyone. They had plenty of spaces for others. Not a super busy time. But the owner had one of his employees walk across the station to where I was to ask me to move. Ridiculous. I called him to figure out if there was a particular reason for doing this. He said, because you were parked there. read more

I live in the neighborhood and walked my bike over here to get some air in my front tire. I walk in and ask this man if it would be ok to turn on the air. He looks and says " Did you buy gas?", I replied "No, I just need air in my front tire." He then replies "It will cost you one dollar." It so sad to see someone lose a customer over $1. Worst place ever I drove up parked next to the air station and asked if I could please have some air because my tire was flat, The cashier asked me if I was going to buy gas as well I said yes and she said I'd have to pump gas before getting air mind you I explained to her my tire was literally on about 15 Psi and she still made me pump gas before the air, great way to treat your customers! read more

I have gotten gas regularly from this station for years, but after my experience yesterday, they have lost a customer. Something was wrong with the pump - it was pumping gas at an incredibly slow rate. It took minutes to put a dollar worth of gas in my car. I told the attendant who said there was nothing he could do now and that he would check it later. I said, "So I'm supposed to just wait 20 minutes to fill my tank?" He said, "Yes thanks!" When my car was finally filled, I discovered the automatic shut off valve on the pump was also broken. Gas poured all over my car and onto the pavement. I told the attendant and he said, "I know." I asked whether I was expected to pay for gas that was all over the pavement because their pump is broken. The attendant handed me a duplicate copy of my credit card receipt and said "Yes thanks!" I am comtemplating whether it is even worth my time to send a complaint to the station manager to let them know why I will no longer be a customer. read more

Gas pump difficulties, then when notifying the cashier, he asked if possible to pump another type of gas. As you know, some vehicles require a certain type of gas, so in this case, I wasn't able to do so. Have to give this a bad review as the pump for the premium gas was coming out extremely slow, 6 minutes to pump 2 gallons. I went and informed the attendant. He replied that he was aware of this and had a report / notice which he pointed to. I asked him why he didn't put a note / sign up, and was he going to put one up, to which he replied no there was no need. So I took off, as I was not going to wait 25 min to fill the tank, and I will not be coming back. For an attendant to be aware of a problem and give no notice / warning, and have people continue to use a malfunctioning pump is an unethical business practice. So future gas pumpers beware. read more

I have been to this gas station for over 30 years. I am a local resident and found this station convenient. After today, I will never step back onto their property. Again, I have gotten gas here for 30 years! Never again! Noticed one of my tires was low on air and went to add some. When I asked the cashier if he could please turn on the air machine, he said it would cost me $1.50...he must be kidding, right? I explained that I have been visiting this establishment for over 30 years and I think there would be no effort from his part if he simply pushed the button to turn on the air for a loyal customer. He refused and became bitter. Turns out someone had recently left the station and asked for the same thing, and the cashier refused that person, too. As I left, another patron arrived asking for air. The cashier refused and said he must buy gas in order to have the air turned on. The patron lied and said he had pumped gas, so the air was turned on. I guess i should have just lied, too. Better yet, i will never go back to this poor run business again. Lost a 30 year paying customer over turning on the air...yep, they can keep their air and I will take my business to the Chevron on 5th and Wilshire. read more

I was filling up my tank at pump #2 and I turned on the auto pump so I could go in to get a drink in the convenience store. Another customer came running in to tell me that the fuel was overflowing and spilling everywhere...why did this happen? because the automatic stop on the pump doesn't work! When the lady said this to me, I just looked at the gas station attendant who is clearly the owner...before I say anything he says "it's not the pumps fault...it's your car! it's your gas tank! fix your gas tank!." seriously? I didn't ask you for my money back on the spilled gas and you get all defensive? Clearly this is a recurring problem here. The lady that told me about the spill told me afterwards that this has happened to her before which is why she never uses the auto fill. Turns out she is telling the truth. See below for a review from another yelper that had the same problem as me. So I clean up all the fuel on my car and I go back in to tell the attendant that my gas tank is fine. (I own a 2006 g35 infiniti and I have an extended warranty. pretty sure I would fix it if it was a problem like that.) All he keeps saying is "No! it's your tank! not the pump!" I reported this to Chevron corporate and supposedly they are going to investigate. Not so sure it will happen. I hope this gas station eventually shuts down for good. It's one thing for customers to get ripped off from leaking gas but it's another thing for a irresponsible owner to not fix something that is clearly a fire/explosion hazard. Imagine if someone happened to be standing next to my pump when it started spewing gas 4-5 feet in the air? Pretty sure that's dangerous. If the owner is reading this, I hope you eventually fix this problem instead of living your life with no morals or care for other people. read more
