It's a gas station. The first gas station I've been to in years. I was terrified leading up to this event when I was forced to rent a gas guzzler in San Diego. But this gas station came through. The learning curve was steep as we needed to figure out the payment system and select the fuel grade, but we got it sorted in less than 10 minutes. Four gallons of gas later, we were on our way. No issues with the product itself and we didn't need to talk to anyone. read more

SCAM!! Just want to let everyone know about scammers in Shell gas station on Midway: we always used that location and bought gas for cash with $0.20 discount - until today. A cashier received my money, asked if I need a receipt ( we never wanted, just trusted) and then, slid some card ( I thought something strange, but thought maybe I never paid attention before) on a terminal . I pumped the gas, took a receipt from a pump and left. Only later, I checked my receipt and realised that I bought the gas for whole price and certainly much smaller amount. And the guy used someone' card and had my cash - double profit. Be aware of this scam! Never will go back to that Shell. read more

I usually fill up at this Shell since its by my work and its over $1 cheaper then the gas stations by my house.

Terrible service, I turned on the gas and the man made the wrong statement, I went to tell him and he treated me very badly.

The gas here is always up to a a quarter more per gallon than the Mobil and Exxon just down the street! I never ever get gas here, but I stop in sometimes to grab a beverage or pack of smokes before hopping on the freeway. Do yourself a favor and drive one more block down India and get gas for a REASONABLE price. read more

I prepaid for the $.10 off a gallon then I had Ralph's rewards points to use. My receipt shows the discount for Ralph's but it is not reflected in the price I paid per gallon. I told the cashier the price was wrong and after going in circles for several minutes, I just gave up. He did not understand that $6.09 minus $.20 = $5.89/gallon not $5.99/gallon. I won't be going back to this shell. read more

This is my gas station! There's one closer to my house and two more on the way to this one, but I go the three miles out of the way to put gas here. The gas is always the freshest, and I heard they grow their own oil, so it's all organic. I'm very environmentally conscious, so I wouldn't dare buy gas that would hurt our ozone layer. O.k, now for the real reason: the gas is cheaper here!!!! It's always at least 10 cents cheaper, and yesterday it was 20cents!!! The place is sometimes packed, but not a long wait. read more

I work at a nearby gas station,which one isnt relevant. Our air and water machine isnt working properly,so I stopped in to check my tires.There was only me and one other truck at the station at the time,and I was the only one who was at the air machine. The cashier actually told me that "Air was for customers only" When I realized he was serious I just left,to hell with him. I dislike leaving a review for something so petty,and its not worth calling and complaining over,but are you fucking kidding me??? Yes, gasoline is a necessity, but cheap gas should not equate to LOUSY customer service! I've been going to this gas station for about 5 yrs since I started working down this area. Up until yesterday, the customer service I have been receiving is OK, not the greatest, but just OK. Lately, before I head up to any gas station, I always make calls to find out that day's gas prices, and all gas stations are happy to let me know of the recent gas prices for that day. Well, not this one. Yesterday, I called to find out the gas price, and the man on the phone put me on hold, for 5 MINUTES. Seriously how long does it take to peep your head out the flippin' window to find out what you're charging for gas??? So I hung up (while on hold), and called back. This second time, a man on the phone rudely told me, "We don't give gas prices over the phone", and just hung up on me!!! Who the hell hangs up on their customers? Midway Shell, you just lost a 5-year-loyal customer - shame on you!! I've notified your bad customer service to your Corporate headquarter, let this be a lesson! read more

Gas pump #9 was not pumping so guy working tells me to turn pump upside down. when it stopped pumping it sprayed gas on me and all over my car. Fix your pumps please. He never apologized after I informed him what had happened. read more

I've been going to this Shell for over two decades and for the first time was REFUSED the option of using your restroom by the clerk (a tall slender guy who drives a burgundy mustang and I might add has a bad attitude) for the reason of just cleaning the restroom. Keep in mind - One, it was 11:40 pm and Two, the fact of giving you MY BUSINESS for many, many years should at the very least stand for something. I'm not a messy guy, Eddie's let me used even the woman's restroom when the men's was been broken down before. I've known Eddie the manager, who is a very decent guy to whom I've become very fond of over the year's. I've even met Mike a few times (The owner) in passing in which I've shared many compliments relating to his establishment. But to be told I cannot use the restroom because it was just cleaned when a guy before me just got done using it (who I might note, works for a local towing company who has a contract with you when it comes to gas fill ups) sounds to me like discrimination. To add insult to injury, the slender clerk who was working that night. I made a comment that I didn't think Mike would appreciate how this was handled. He muttered some words of anger (I don't give a s___t! Then proceeded in a forgein language spewing out words of hate towards me as I left for my vehicle. I found his conduct to offensive, uncalled for and unprofessional. Word travels fast, I hope some form of action will be taken here. The fact that this guy works for you, represents what you stand for as a company of Shell and it's corporation. There are ethical business practices in place and should be followed. read more

eh. It's a gas station. As far as in Point Loma they have pretty good prices. The people that work in there are ok. I always have to look for someone to even be behind in counter so I try to not have to go in. It's in a good spot and mostly pretty competitive in price. read more

This Shell Station and the 76 two blocks away usually have cheap gas compared with other stations in a 5 mile radius from my place in OB. It is clean and easy to get in and out of even when there are lots of cars. But there usually is not a lot of traffic here when I go. There is no car wash and I have never got air here but it seems like the kind of place that would have a working air machine. read more

If you're smart, you won't fill up your tank at this station. If you do, get ready to be hounded by two men in matching golf shirts who run up to the cars while customers are filling their tanks. They'll do an entire sell-job on you, trying to convince you to buy their "car wash in a can" product. Whether you're interested or not, they won't leave you alone until you leave the station. I've been going to this gas station for a while now, I used to love going there because it is so convenient for me, I shop at Ralph's so I always use my rewards card. And it's also close to the gym, so I always stop by late at night to pump gas. Lately every time I go there and have the guy that works graveyard shift scan my rewards card he says that they updated to new computers and that my card won't go through. I let it go the first three times but now it's really annoying and I would love for someone to teach him how to use the computers so I can actually get use out of my fuel points! It's been a month and he still has the same excuse! read more

The machines at the pump are the worst. It froze on me twice so naturally I was angry and went inside. The attend was rude when I told him the machines were crappy he told me it was my fault or my bad card (mind you it worked just fine inside) and that they work fine. Horrible customer service. There was a man in front of my pump who was having issues with his pump/ machine as well. It only pumped half of his gas that he paid for he said. The attendant didnt seem to care. This is at 11:15am on july 4, 2014 if management cares at all about their employees attitude or possibly updating the pumps. I didnt pay attention to his name. read more

I am a first time yelper, so bare w/me. I just wanted everyone to know that Shell on Midway,has a practice of putting a hold on your bank acct. In my case I used the Ralph's card to get the 10 cents off, the machine did not reflect, so I went to another machine. The next machine said to see cashier, I went to him he informed me I DID NOT!!! have any money. When I went in the station I had over $110..00, so they cleaned out my bank acct. PUT A TWO HOUR HOLD ON MY MONEY. When I spoke to the person I finally reached at SHELL she told my I was LUCKY because sometimes it is for 72 HRS. JUST BEWARE!!!!!! read more

This is the closest station to my residence so I guy gas here. It is consistently 8 to 10 cents cheaper than the Chevron at Midway and Rosecrans which is two blocks away, but usually a bit more than the 2 closest Arco stations. It's self serve only with a convenience store, no car wash and has pay at the pump so it's not necessary to go inside to pay unless you are paying in cash.. And, it is 24/7/365. Two long pump islands with 3 fueling stations on each one. Easy to get into and out of to and from 2 streets. The Kaiser Point Loma medical facility is one block away. A woman feels pretty safe at this place. Except for the few times some creeps try to sell me stuff or want to wash my windows for tips. Once the attendant from inside chased them away, but they came back when he went back inside. Usually, though, it's a pretty safe place to get gas and go. But watch out for those curbs as you enter or exit the premises. (P.S. I didn't get paid for this post.) read more
