I like the Liberty brand because the credit card price and cash price are the same (none of the misleading cheap cash price being advertised only to see the credit card markup that other gas stations do). Many times, I've needed to get gas late at night, and I've found the pumps at those brand name big company gas stations to be turned off and closed (which is frustrating because people need gas at all hours of the day, not just during business hours). I was pleasantly surprised to find that this Liberty gas station was still open after midnight. Yes, turning into or out of the gas station can get congested during peak driving times, but for the price and convenience, it's well worth it.

For instance (as of the week of Jan 20, 2025), Liberty's regular is $3.099 while other places are charging $3.25+. Since my gas tank pretty much was below empty, I decided to give Liberty a shot. What do I have to lose....besides messing up my car? The process is pretty straightforward forward like any other gas station. I would recommend stopping by during off hours because this gas station is very popular due to its low prices. Sometimes, this can lead to a very cluttered situation in terms of entering and leaving the gas station especially since it share a parking lot with a 7/11 and a sandwich shop.

I just randomly picked this station and I'm so glad I did. I was waited on by a marvelously delightful and upbeat woman who's publicly displayed name on my receipt spelled Rula. Now even though our chat only lasted about 30 seconds, her energy & humor was quite infectious. And let me not leave out her speech pattern which was fascinating, the best way I can describe it is a mix of old-world southern charm with American hip. And at the end of our brief chat her final "Drive safe baby" had me floating out the door to the point that I don't even remember actually pumping my gas, all I know is later when I looked down I had a full tank. Now as much as I would like to think that I brought out the best in Rula, I'm sure she treats all of her customers the same way. So if you want to get a dose of what I experienced, by all means you should stop in this Exxon, but beware because there is also an Exxon station directly across the street which is weird in itself. However, since I was so determined to steer you to Rula's station, I took the time to Google this station's ID number in the Exxon database and it is 25719 So Thank you Rula for brightening an otherwise dreary day. And since this establishment has a very well stocked snack section, that gives me a reason to stop back in whenever I'm even semi close, whether I need gas or not and I would encourage you to do the same. However, my burgeoning gas buddy is the Afro-European Gentleman whose spirit is so contagious that we end up chatting about meaningful topics that leave me inspired. Aside from gas & the mini-market, this location offers various car care maintenance services & some sort of Bodyshop in the back...the Techs are just as friendly. If you sign up for the BP Rewards & link a credit/debit card, the App is super easy doing everything you need to get gas except pump it for you. The app has provided me with a quicker & efficient way to get gas.

I should have known better on I-270. Before coming here I had tried to stop elsewhere a bit further up the road and to my despair I was not in luck. With my vehicle already in the 'E' I prayed and did that little seat nudge thing to get my vehicle moving further and further down the road until I ended up here. And it worked. I must of looked like a maniac when I pulled in here as I whipped across lanes of traffic not knowing if I would make it to a pump. Once in I pulled up to a pump, jumped out and did the pay at the pump thing and gladly gave my vehicle a drink. While standing there waiting for it to fill up I took notice that this might not have been the best place to stop that night, but I did not care at that point. After my vehicle was fueled I went inside to grab a drink and snack for myself and was surprised that it was a quick transaction. Never again will I tempt the fates on I-270. I will stop in Frederick before taking that stretch of road again.

She had little to no ability to communicate with me. After she called her boss, he arrive and I explained I don't carry cash, I was able to go to an ATM to get cash to pay for the gas. For my trouble, they charged my credit card too, for the same tank of gas. Lucky for me, I was able to dispute the charge with my bank and get a full refund. The gas is cheap but it's not worth the hassle.

My husband stopped by our neighborhood Shell Gas Station (right across from Montgomery Mall) this afternoon just to put a gallon or two of gas in the car. He went inside, paid with Apple Pay, and then headed out to pump - only to find that the pump wouldn't dispense any gas. (For context: my husband and I are genuinely kind, easygoing people; we're the type who will happily hold the door open for you, say "thank you" - we both just want to make everyday interactions a little better for the folks we interact with day-to-day. That said, y'all have got to know that, when he went back inside to ask about the issue, it was done politely and respectfully.) Unfortunately, the response my husband received from the (unusually slender) attendant upon re-entering the Shell station was anything but. He immediately brushed him off with, "Oh, uhh, it's...pending, you need to wait," in a tone that my husband labeled 'dismissive and unnecessarily rude'. My husband waited a few minutes and asked for an update; maybe the system did need to reset and reboot. However, instead of being reassuring or helpful, the attendant snapped back and yelled "I told you, you need to wait!" Meanwhile, the charge had already gone through on his card - no gas, no explanation, and no sense of urgency from the attendant to resolve the issue. Just poor communication, and even worse customer service. (That says a lot; it's rare that my husband, who is incredibly patient and compassionate, gets genuinely frustrated.) What really stood out, though, was another customer stepping in. A complete stranger offered my husband the remaining $5-$6 worth of gas from his own pump. That single act of kindness said more about customer care than anything the attendant did and offered. In the end my husband was charged, and didn't receive the service he paid for. Between the lack of accountability and the blatant attitude, he concluded that it was an extremely disappointing experience all-around. We both strongly recommend going elsewhere, especially when there are cheaper (and far more customer-friendly) options nearby.
