The store was closed for several days for the re-branding to take place, and to replace all of the inventory (I was told by the manager that when Valero closed, they removed all of the inventory). They carry most of the same items that Valero carried. Employees are generally friendly, and prices on products sold inside are about what you expect to pay at most convenience stores. My only gripe is their fuel prices tend to lag a bit - sometimes it works out in your favor (it took them several days to raise their prices after everyone else jumped back up to the ~$2/gal mark), sometimes it doesn't (they never dropped below $1.85, when other nearby stations were as low as $1.70). Exxonmobile's website lists incorrect hours - they actually close at 10pm from Sunday to Thursday, they're only open until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Fuel pumps are on 24/7 though.

While not fitting the ideal profile I've spent decades designing, it's close enough. Besides, I needed gas. With gas dropping pretty rapidly around here you can see a 10 cnt a gallon difference between several stores in a few blocks. $3.89 a gallon seemed good so I pulled in. As the tank was filling, I walked into the convenience part of the facility. Wow, was I wrong! You just cant profile these places because they are all so different and interesting. The variety of offerings at the front counter was astonishing. It made me think back to when I was a kid and service stations had those cardboard placards of corn cob pipes, cigarette lighters, and such. But this was that on steroids! Wow! I love these places because it says a lot about our neighbors, who we are living with in society and what they are buying. Amazing. So, in retrospect, even though this place probably isn't over 30 years old, if that,for the purpose of this review I'm classifying it in the Retro column. A quick look around reveals a similar scene as you see with most of these "vintage" shops. Boxes to be unloaded stacked in corners, storage closets open and in disarray, enormous amounts of cold beer and soft drinks in the coolers, various other items including gas cans, oil, cigarettes...the usual. There is an attached Taqueria. You have to exit the convenience side and re-enter in another door which is ashamed because it's un- intriguing!!! The "Back of The Store" photograph that I'm intending to make famous was average. Nothing to report there, as compared with my first two "vintage" reviews. All and all I give this place an honorable mention. It will probably develop into a fine Retro store by the time my grandson reviews it. Until then I say don't hesitate to.. Go!

The problem is that they are constantly out of at least one or two of the varieties of coffee every day. Sometimes more. I stop by here a couple days a week and they are always out of something. I love the coffee bar and absolutely hate the way the product is kept in stock. I would ditch my Starbucks completely if this shiny new feature could be managed properly.

So if you go during a busy hour, don't be running on fumes, because you might run completely out of gas looking for a spot to pump. Now, call me crazy, but I'm a fan of gas station food LoL...don't judge! If I EVER go here for lunch, I ALWAYS get their Chicken Salad Sandwich. It's made fresh EVERY morning and it's really tasty. The wheat bread is soft, the chicken salad is seasoned perfectly and to add a little zing, I'll put a pickle or two on there. PERFECTION!

The pumps will still take your card and put a hold on your account, but you won't be able to get anything out of them, and there's nothing posted anywhere stating the pumps won't dispense fuel after closing hours. This leaves you with anywhere from $1 to $150 on hold by your bank, and no gas; I learned this the hard way when I had to walk 2 miles to 7-11 to buy a gas can and gas, as I had run out of gas pulling into the station - only to find out that all of my funds were on hold (the hold dropped a week later, normally it's replaced by the final charge within 48 hours). My only interaction with an employee here was rather rude. I still go here for gas though, as I get 5c/gal off with my Walmart card, and it's on the way to work. For whatever reason, I seem to get better mileage with their fuel than most others (on average, 2-3 mpg higher, using the same pump every time). This would be a 3, even a 4 star review, if they had some notice posted near the pumps stating they wouldn't dispense fuel after a certain hour. Better yet would be just shutting off the pumps entirely, or at least having them display a message on the screen stating the station is closed and cannot dispense fuel.
