I've never been sure whether the place…read moreis called "Adams Market" because it's at the intersection with Adams, is called "Adam's Market" after someone named Adam, or is called "Adam Market" as it's sometimes rendered in other online results. The great thing about this place is the owner, who is jolly and sarcastic and funny, although his wit does tend to run a little absurd and not a little dry. Almost as great, though, is the selection of Middle Eastern foods. It's a great place to stock up on boxes of mahmouls for cheap, or to get tins of stuffed grape leaves, which are a vastly better snack than the paltry selection of heavily-processed junk food. Fresh, but limited, but huge, baklavah. The real wonder, though, is a small row of sodas in the back. Not the fancy burdock-and-ass English stuff, but the selection of Lebanese fruit sodas by Kazouza, the best of which is the watermelon. None of them are HFCS-loaded crap, but the watermelon nonetheless captures the fanciful watermelon flavor of something like a Jolly Rancher without being too cloying (at least, for the first few bottles.) It's so wonderful. Like, it completely changed my view of carbonated beverages. It's also a reliable place to get ayran, which is good when the Kazouza gets too sickly-sweet. Also, the brand of ayran they stock is also very useful as a yogurt culture, and at least with the milk from my goats that I tried it with, it resulted in some absurdly-thick and wonderful stuff. Some of the staff other than the owner can be a bit grumpy or difficult, and some of them are quite sweet and outgoing. Still, it's hard to fault the gruff ones. It's the most centrally-located and only late-night convenience store in downtown Olympia. It's a great place to rub shoulders with people who are drunk at noon and people who are far gone in the middle of the night. It really functions as Olympia's only Middle Eastern market. International Spice and Halal used to carry much of the same stuff, and since it closed and its owner moved on to other things, this is the best place to go. And it does a good job of that, while also doing a good job of being a convenience store. A very cool place. Near and dear to my heart.

This sketchy little grocery has got one of the best late-night snack selections of any tiny store I've ever seen. Burritos, cereal, chips, ice cream, candy: you name it, they've got it. I went to the cooler to grab a bottle of water and, as I was about to open the door, a man cut in front of me without saying a word. It wasn't a big deal--I brushed it off--but it set the tone. After getting my water, I joined my mother at the hot food section. She has limited vision, so I was reading the available options to her. The cashier, Karan, had just finished helping the only other two customers, leaving us alone in the store. My mother decided on a hot dog, and I told Karan, "One Big Bite, please." He responded, "Just one?" I confirmed yes. He then asked if we needed anything else. At that moment, my mother moved to the taquito section and said, "Um, hold on." Instead of giving her a moment, Karan immediately repeated, "Anything else?" and then, just a second later, loudly repeated, "ANYTHING ELSE." At that point, I stepped in because the tone was unnecessary and disrespectful. If he hadn't been distracted by his AirPods, he would have heard my mother the first time when she politely asked for a moment. I loudly told him to give her a second (matching his energy). Karan then walked away and went back to his phone. When we told him which taquitos we wanted, he put them in a box, placed it at the register, and returned to his phone again. It felt like he rushed my mother simply so he could get back to using his phone, which is completely unacceptable. And the rudeness towards my mother will not be tolerated.

BUT I could tell there was another sticker underneath it.. so I peeled off the sticker that said 01/2025, and what did I find...? A STICKER THAT SAID 10/2024!!! This place will SCAM YOU by pushing out the date on goods with new current stickers to cover the old ones!!! That is so wrong, disgusting, and unprofessional to the people that pay money while expecting quality and HONESTY from the people who are selling to us... especially when it comes to the food we consume!! Whoever is doing this should be fired... I wouldn't trust this location, there's no telling what else they are doing to our food..

I would be surprised if 10% of people actually call it interlake. It's a spot to grab pop, beer, candy, some hot food, ice cream bars, or lottery tickets. It's not fancy.
