Gas-fine Air-fine Cash wash-really quite good Staff-friendly and usually helpful Need help in a bind-DREADFUL, I MEAN REALLY AWFUL I'm a long time coastal resident, a twice-weekly buyer of gasoline from this station and unfortunately, I recently ran out of gas, so a friend gave me a ride to this station - to get a gas can and a gallon of gas. When I explained my situation to the attendant, he explained they wouldn't lend me a gas can, but that I could BUY one, for $19 bucks, that PLUS the gas. I asked if I could borrow it instead for 10 minutes as my car was just down Main Street. They had a can they could have lent me (the attendant showed it to me) I figured, as I am a long-time, regular customer ($175+ per week) they would have at least offered to help out. The attendant said he would ask the manager - a nice gesture, to be sure - but the manager refused, insisting instead that I buy the gas can from them. When confronted by, in my opinion, this totally unreasonable posture, I explained to him that I would give him a choice; lend me the can, I pay for the gas and promise to bring the can back within 10 minutes and I remain a VERY happy, satisfied customer OR make me BUY the can and loose me as a customer forever - he chose the $19.00 sale over the $175 a week I've usually spent. Seems like a rather short-sighted decision - hence my writing this review. read more

Good location, but the most expensive gas in town. Save yourself a couple bucks and fill up at Alliance or More for Less instead.

Really nice service station with modern pumps, clear and smooth forecourt and a classic station design with unisex rest room. There is no store here, but they have a few candy bars on the other side of the window. Interior of the car wash needs cleaning/paint, but it looks like it'll get the job done. Flow rate on the pump is within guidelines. Nice to place to fill up and easy access from and to the cross streets. read more

The question was simple,- How much for a car wash? SHELL ATTENDANT "Oh, our full service is not available." ME ,So your car wash isn't working? SHELL ATTENDANT "What kind of car do you have" ME -A Prius, SHELL ATTENDANT "oh for that car is $8" (He could have answered this the first time. I come here only for the car wash. It is very very slow (45 minutes +) but they do a thorough job. I have to wait for my son to finish a class nearby else I would likely go somewhere faster. read more

GO TO THE CHEVRON A COUPLE BLOCKS AWAY. chevron has great customer service. At shell i Asked for a basic car wash because the inside of my car is already clean. Was told I'm only allowed to purchase a full car wash with detail. I said "so you have time to wash my car if I buy the full package but not the basic package". He replied "yes". I don't appreciate being forced to buy the full package so I left. Horrible customer service when the customer can't buy what they want because I'm not a "good enough customer". I am a regular customer, btw...Paid to have my 2010 Chevy Camaro washed and when I picked it up, there was two distinct chips inside the driver's side window tint !! I waited to speak to my husband to make sure that he had not noted it prior to the carwash. He said that these were new !! I went back in the next day to show the attendant. Unfortunately, the same person was not there from the day before ,and all this guy would do is take my phone number to give to someone named Joe. Well, as expected "Joe" never called me back. Watch carefully. I went to this place last year and although it took almost 1.5 hours, it was a very thorough job. Went back yesterday and was told it would be 1.5 hours before they could do my truck. Came back 2 hours later and he said they could do it but it would still take 1.5 hours. Paid the $30.00 and drove truck to back. There was one car in front of me. They took that car within a few minutes. I stayed inside my truck, windows closed, reading until it was my turn. I waited for 1 1/2 hours before they even started cleaning the inside. One guy vacuumed then left. No one did anything to my truck for 30 minutes! The car that had been in front was done and outside the wash station. Both cleaning guys had disappeared. If I hadn't already paid, I would have left. Finally, they came back and it was washed. I checked the inside and all looked okay. I noticed the driver's side window had a grey smear (I thought). When I got home, I tried to clean it off and discovered it was etched into the glass. Something sharp had scraped the window hard. I called the Shell station and asked to speak to the manager. He said it couldn't happen. Was very short and finally said bring it in I'll show you it couldn't happen with our equipment...but there's nothing we can do about it. Went out to take a photo and then noticed a long scratch as if someone ran a key along the driver's door. All told I was there for over 2.5 hours. It cost me $30.00 plus $5.00 tip. Like most Shell stations, this station charges exhorbitant prices for average gas. Good for naive consumers who swallow misleading marketing. Try More for Less in HMB or Arco on Delaware in San Mateo (same quality gas as Shell, but many don't know this), but be careful because they each try to raise prices after they get your business. I have been switching between the two for over ten years now. Cars are fine. read more
