Thieves. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I live around the corner and have given this gas station my business for over a decade, but after today I will never go there again. I paid $9 for the car wash, drove my car into the car wash and the machines never started up. I wasn't particularly upset, I mean I figured "Oh well the car wash isn't working so I'll give her my receipt, get my money back and go elsewhere". I went in to talk to the clerk (Mari-something, Maricela? Marisol? can't remember) - politely showed her my receipt and told her what happened... she immediately became very snappish, rude and defensive. First she couldn't help me if I "didn't have a receipt" (after I had already shown her my receipt), then she couldn't help me because she "needed to see my car" - I said "my car is sitting in the car wash". Then she came out to the car wash to look at my car and yelled at me "You have made a mistake! You are doing something wrong!" Believe it or not, I was still really calm, I figured "OK this one is having a really bad day" so I said "No I didn't make a mistake, the car wash isn't working, so why don't we go inside and you just refund my money?" We went back inside and she REFUSED to give me my money back! Instead she snapped me "You come here tomorrow at 8 AM and talk to the manager" No amount of calm reasoning with her would get her to budge. She gave me a phone number that was supposed to be for the manager, and I called it right there on my cell phone and it was not a working number. When I told her "this number is not working" she just snapped at me again "You come here tomorrow at 8 AM and talk to the manager". There's no way I'm bothering to get up at 7:30 Saturday morning to go over to this gas station and argue with the manager over $9 - and I think they know that. When I told my husband the story, he said he had been in the same gas station last week and seen another guy standing at the register arguing with "Mari" over the same thing. This place is horrible. They don't even deserve a star. The cashier George is extremely rude! Beyond rude. He should be fired. In fact that entire gas station should be torn down or someone who cares about customers needs to buy it. The way they treat customers here is extremely sad. They rip you off and scream at you as if you're some child who does not understand anything. Do not waste your time coming here. I just saw the reviews to this place and I find it funny how everyone had something to say about the car wash, it's a gas station in the end not a car wash station, 3 guys aren't going to rush out to your car and wash it. I have been coming to this shell usually at nights for quite some time and for 2 main reasons. One is I need gas and two because John is excellent with customer service. I had almost the exact same experience as Art N below. The car wash rips you off totally! Usually there's a line of cars for the car wash on the weekend & you feel pressured to hurry through the wash because everybody is in such a hurry anymore, so the last thing you're going to do is read their chicken scratch signs telling you exact change only when you're paying cash for the wash. The cash machine will not dispense change & neither will the attendants. And this for a crappy wash that won't dry your darned car so you leave there with water spots all over. This place is pathetic! We waited in line for over half an hour. Went in it sprayed water once on our car and that was it. It malfunctioned without any soap or dryer at the end. We kept on honking and the two attendants didn't bother to come out. There was no phone number on the receipt or posted there too to get help. I was irrately speaking to the attendants (Manuel and Walter) who didn't care to accept that it malfunctioned. They were watching the live video and refused to rewind the dvr recording so that I can view and prove to them. All this while being late to a wedding and ruining our day. The just offered to give refund or another code. Our car was dirtier than we started with. Such lack of customer service. Losing my business. He took my name and number to apparently investigate the issue. I doubt Shell will be calling me. They need to have better service and resources available for malfunctioning equipment. So now te second time around, it malfunctioned and we've been in line for over another half an hour. The attendants are now in the car wash trying to fix it. It really malfunctioned several times. Beware of this gas station! If anything goes wrong they blame you and say it's not their problem! I followed all of the directions at the car wash, my card was charged, it said approved and yet nothing happened when I had the green light to go in! When I asked the attendant she didn't even look at the machine or the records she just said there was nothing she could do and the machine was working fine (basically calling me a liar). If there is an option for minus 1 star, I would have chosen it. I had a horrible experience at this gas station with the lady cashier. I paid for a car wash and never got my car wash. The green light indicated drive forward but there was never an indication for my car to stop. So I slowly inched forward but in no time, my car was spit out of the car wash. In other words, I did not get the car wash...and after a long wait for my turn too. The cashier refused to refund my money and said repeatedly (with a smirk) that I was the one that made the mistake of not stopping. This is THE WORST Shell gas station! For the last two years I have faithfully purchased gas and used their car wash. This time while using their car wash, the customer ahead of me screwed up the machine by leaving before the wash cycle ended and then reversed back into the wash which screwed up my cycle before it even began. I immediately told the cashier, older man, what had happened and he just shrugged it off. Said it was my problem. I then showed him I had just paid for the wash and my car was still dirty. He didn't care. Said take it up with your bank. I work in the customer service industry and this is the fastest way to get someone to never come back and tell their friends to never go there as well. Worst shell gas station ever!!!!! I only use shell gas stations so I went to this location on 12/05/14. I always put the pump in and wait in my car without a problem. well at this place the gas started leaking through two holes in the pump when I noticed I tried stopping it but gas kept coming out and spilled everywhere. I let the employee know the problem and he said he couldn't do anything till the manager came in I've been trying to go In or call to speak to manager and two weeks later and she still hasn't returned my calls. Problem one of several: the car wash. We waited to pay the machine until after the car in front of us was done (as directed by the sign) and our payment was accepted, but when we pulled in the car wash, it never started. This Shell station is convenient from where I live, so I frequent it for gas every so often. While it is affordable for its location, I have to say that its car wash is sub par for what I paid for. It did not remove water or dust stains, and in fact made my car look dirtier. I don't even know how that's possible. It's also typically so crowded since the Arco across the street is more cash-friendly. The problem is right now the car was machine isn't accepting credit cards or cash yet the sign says it's not accepting credit cards. When I came they have an auto car wash on site. I hesitated to use their carwash after my gas fill up so I went to teller to refund my money. This is the worst gas station I have ever been to in my life. Please boycott them and do not give them your business. I AM BEGGING YOU. Their gas pumps are so slow that it took over 10 mins to pump 14 gallons of gas in my car. Not Kidding. Almost a gallon per minute at the pump I used. (I would have given up after the first gallon or two but I was getting a discount by using my Ralph's reward card.) I went in to the BO smelling indoor area to complain and the stinky, lazy, horrible, nasty, evil man/monster who worked behind the counter (it was 12-17-17 around 12:30 pm, if the owner is reading and is smart he should fire this losers ass) was arguing with a customer who wanted a refund for the carwash that didn't work. Another man was in there complaining about the same issue as me, the pump was literally pumping about a gallon every 40 seconds and he was filling up a large gas tank for his truck (He said he had been pumping for 20 mins, LOL) . The nasty, pathetic, angry, lazy man who worked there, just sat in his chair, behind the counter and was yelling at all of us at once. Telling us we were all wrong and crazy and wouldn't listen to anyone. He just keep yelling over us so none of us could be heard. He was a total crazy person. It was humiliating for him and whoever owns this cesspool of a station. It is off the 5 freeway so it gets a lot of cars and business I guess. I laughed when I finally left as I saw 2 signs saying "HELP WANTED"!!!! "Duh", I thought.
