So far so good for me. I was running on fumes so I really needed gas. This gas station does not have a convenience store attached. At least, not a traditional type of one. They do sell some merchandise outside their little booth. They sell Lotto too. No complaints from me. This 76 gas station was A-Ok in my opinion.

A blonde woman named Natalie (I think it was actually spelled with a "Y"-- pretty sure I'm misspelling it) was behind the register and said "the restrooms are for customers only" without even thinking once that I might be there to buy something. It was just a "guilty till proven innocent" situation. I was a bit annoyed but ended up using the restroom followed by me buying my item and then leaving. It was so incredibly awkward. The Denny's across the street is possible one of the least enjoyable in the area, so this intersection of businesses (mainly on the corners) leaves a lot to be desired. Gas is pretty high everywhere in Southern California, but a little less here, being one of the only gas stations on the block. Recommend other Shell locations, over just filling up at the pump.

I was buying a protein bar ($4) & $15 worth of scratchers and asked for just $10 in cash back. The employee pr oceeds to show me a $20 bill and says he can't give me $10 he only has $20 so I ask for the $20 and he points at the clock and says it's 9:20pm I can't do scratchers. I take my scratcher and he can't even scan the barcode on the protein bar so I tell him to forget it all. I walk back in to see him helping the next person with a hand full of winning scratchers. I will never give this location business and will make sure everyone I know in LA does the same thing. Seeing them laugh as I drove off is enough for me to make sure this location gets a word from corporate.

I know between 5pm and 7pm is a big time to avoid and the morning 8am to 10am if you avoid these times you are fine but still I never encountered this in my life I am 55 and so disappointed in this situation. I'm not very familiar with this area. Less than a quarter tank left. Won't make it to my usual…read morego-to gas station. What's a girl to do?!? This is the closest gas station, so why not? I figured I just need enough fuel to get home (which also happens to be near my preferred gas station.) I love that they have the contactless payment option (more especially now during a pandemic) so I opted for that. My issue was it didn't ask me for my PIN, which, of course, meant I couldn't even start the whole pumping transaction. I thought maybe I messed up, so I ran the whole process again but yielded the same result. I decided to move to another pump and VOILA! $25 worth of gas later, I was out. BUT THEN! (And this happened almost immediately), I get an alert from my bank saying there may have been a fraudulent transaction on my account stating I spent $100.35 at that gas station. (WHAT?!?!) Needless to say, I declined the charge. SHADY! I rarely come around this 'hood, but if I do and had fuel needs, I doubt I'd come back here. (More especially when I found another Arco nearby whose prices were far more reasonable.) Just my 2 cents...

Sometimes not all pumps work, folks drive like maniacs, you really have to watch it because there are too many ways in and out and no one wants to give up, everyone is in a rush... to get into an accident? Each time we addressed an issue or two to the owners, they don't seem to care. It's one of these places you come out of necessity and location, but you take your life in your hands and hope for the best!
