First time at this Gas Station/AMPM. It's kind of weird to see that this is not only an AMPM, but it's a gas station with AMPM inside. Walked in yesterday around 6:10pm and needed $30.00 worth of gas. The cashier by the name of Erbin, was just standing there, until I said "hello" first. Normally I don't get that kind of greeting at any Gas Station. He was curt, a bit dry. A man of 2 words. Didn't like that. My pump # was 4. and I don't understand why there should be a 0.35 cent fee. Nobody knows. Not even the employees. It's not the quarter plus the dime. It's the principal. Regardless whether you pay cash or card. Looked around inside the mini AMPM, and everything was nicely stocked and organized. Needed to clean my windshield and the rest of the windows, but there was barely any soap and water in their bucket. The gas station wasn't very clean, and the trash was half full. However, all the pumps seemed to be working fine. Needed to put air in my tire and couldn't find the Air Pump. I asked Erbin if he could come and help me, and he shrugged his shoulders and said "he can't leave the register". I told him, "I need for you to show me". I know how to do it. No response. Stopped by this location for a quick break, and everything was clean and well organized. The staff was polite, and checkout was fast even though there were a few customers ahead of me. They had a good selection of snacks and drinks, making it easy to grab what I needed. Overall, a convenient stop with friendly service. read more

I'm not very familiar with this area. Less than a quarter tank left. Won't make it to my usual go-to gas station. What's a girl to do?!? This is the closest gas station, so why not? I figured I just need enough fuel to get home (which also happens to be near my preferred gas station.) I love that they have the contactless payment option (more especially now during a pandemic) so I opted for that. My issue was it didn't ask me for my PIN, which, of course, meant I couldn't even start the whole pumping transaction. I thought maybe I messed up, so I ran the whole process again but yielded the same result. I decided to move to another pump and VOILA! $25 worth of gas later, I was out. BUT THEN! (And this happened almost immediately), I get an alert from my bank saying there may have been a fraudulent transaction on my account stating I spent $100.35 at that gas station. (WHAT?!?!) Needless to say, I declined the charge. SHADY! I rarely come around this 'hood, but if I do and had fuel needs, I doubt I'd come back here. I usually come here every other morning at the same time with a smile and a nice greeting from an older gentleman that is on duty. Today, I had a question about the machine if it was taking the cards or cash but she blatantly ignored me and turned her back to me after shoeing me with her hands like I was some bum. Did not even give a courteous moment to answer my question. The lady that was manager today, talk about rude and unprofessional, she wasn't even wearing her uniform! Maaaaaaan traffic was super trash. I was driven as far as I could on E to get as close to home as possible before I got gas. After a few gnarly moves, flipping a couple birds I scooted in here on heelllaa fumes loolol The place was your average gas station. In general someone needs to come up with a better place to place pump numbers so you can find the damn number easy. By the time I find the dumb number and walk off I've already forgotten it and go looking for the pump number all over again. Yes, the ATM transaction fee sucks, but it still usually works out to be less than other gas stations. Also they have the word's longest soda fountain and CRUSHED ICE! I've always loved AMPMs ever since I was a fat little kid. The customizable hot dogs are delicious. They used to have this chocolate milkshake that you could add all of your own mix-ins to that tasted like a Wendy's Frosty, only better. At least they smiled and weren't mean during my check out. There's also an ATM fee which is a bummer. I wish in this day and age companies (especially big ones like AM/PM) just got rid of those. As I begin to roll my bike into this gas station to call & wait for aaa, I'm immediately greeted by a large man telling me I can't stop here and wait for more than 10 minutes and how long do I plan on being here. DO NOT COME HERE! Went to this gas station when I had 7miles left. I put gas in only to drive away and find out that the gas pump didn't even fill up my car, and somehow it was LESS than when I arrived only having 5miles to empty. This is a very shady gas station. I've also had my card information stolen from this gas station as stated by someone else. This is unacceptable and should not be happening. i do door dash daily so i usually stop at the closest gas station near me. my first issue about this place is that i bought 4 gallons of gas which cost $20 dollars and i notice on my card that they charge me $170. i went inside to ask the store clerk about it and he told me that since its my first time the store and i am using a credit card they charge me for assurance. and will have to wait until the next business day for it to get back into my account. the thing is i wasn't using a credit card i was using my cash app debit card, also did they really have to take $150, why not just fifty. if i need this money i have no other choice. if that wasn't enough i notice that it wasn't enough even 4 gallons that i paid for. i went to chevron earlier and bought 2 gallons and where fuel meter at is the same as the 4 gallons i bought at this place. i go to gas station frequently so i notice take notice of the fuel meter. something is really sketchy about this place or the company as a whole. read more

I was a regular customer at this ARCO gas station until today. I have been pumping gas for over 22 years...I know how to do it. Today I was on empty and pulled into this ARCO station. I used a debit card for the gas, and when I tried pumping the gas, the gas pump kept stopping. After fiddling with it for a bit, I went inside to let them know and was told to make sure the nozzle was pushed-in all the way. I knew it was but went out and checked it again anyway. The pump still kept stopping. I went back inside to tell them again and the owner told me that I didn't know how to pump gas and that this pump had been working all day. What?! He said to go to another pump instead. I was fine with that but didn't want to pay another 35 cent transaction fee. He argued with me for a bit and then eventually gave me 35 cents to cover the 2nd debit card transaction fee. The 35 cents wasn't a deal-breaker, but it was the principle of me being told I was pumping the gas wrong, etc. He should have just offered to come out to the pump and help me with it. I moved to the pump on the opposite side and the same thing happened. I made sure the nozzle was in all the way, again. I went back inside and was once again told that I didn't know how to pump gas. The owner was very upset and I told him that they should probably have the pump checked. He was being so rude to me! I stated that customer service is very important and that he shouldn't be getting upset with me. He yelled "I don't are about customer service!" I couldn't believe it! I told him, from one business owner to another, that customer service is very important and that without customers you don't have a business. I also stated that I was never coming back to this gas station again. He didn't care. I asked the other guy to come out with me to the pump and he did. I grabbed the nozzle again and put it back in and this time it worked. It's funny how things always seem to work when you bring another person over to help you :) At this point I'm sure the owner thought I was an idiot, but I don't care. I do know how to pump gas, fluke or no fluke! I finished pumping about $60 worth of gas...I probably should have just left and went elsewhere at that time. I will never go to this gas station again! What's interesting is how the owner probably felt that I, one customer, would not make a difference to his business. And, that may be the case. But if you calculate that it takes me about $60 to fill-up my gas tank, and for simplicity, that I went once a week to this gas station. That would be $60/week x 52 weeks in a year as I live down the street. That's a loss for this business of at least $3,120! Now, with me writing this review and posting on Facebook to everyone I know in the area to use another gas station, this could possibly lead to a loss of thousands of dollars! Employees are NOT helpful, uninformative, and simply don't care. Customer beside me went back in three times to say that her pump was not working. The employee did nothing except said "go back and try again". When it was my turn to go and pump the gas my pump was not working either. I went back three times as well and employee said the same thing. The last time I went in he said I would have to move pumps, try again and re-swipe my card. Another customer behind me didn't put the full amount that was charged to her account; when she came back in to ask if that money would go back to her debit account the cashier look at her stupefied and did not understand what she was trying to say. Together we can help get them put into shelters and get them assistance to improve their lives. Their trash is spilling over into your gas station and seems quite unsanitary. So we are on a road trip to Malibu. My son, my grandson and I. We stopped here to get snacks and gas and they would not let my four-year-old grandson use the restroom. Therefore, they lost out on me filling up my gas tank and snacks. I usually don't give bad reviews, however I felt it fitting in this instance. No bathrooms for paying customers. Gas stations need to have bathrooms, so this gets a one star.

Stopped to fill up and add air to a slightly deflated tire. The air hose had apparently been damaged and had tape over part of it. As I put the air hose back, I noticed my hand was bleeding... jagged part of the repaired hose sliced two fingers and was dripping blood. When I went inside to use a bathroom to clean up, told by the employee that there were no customer restroom or sink that I was allowed to use. When I explained what happened, th employee (female, Latinx) immediately told me "it's the black people that are always using it." I asked her to say that again, thinking I must have misunderstood her, and she repeated it. I responded that I didn't care of she thought black people were to blame, was just trying to earn her that the air house needed to be fixed. Ended up using a paper towel she gave me and some ice from the soda machine to clean my hand before leaving (still bleeding but found a towel in my car to stop from bleeding all over myself on the rest of the drive home). I don't know if it was a misunderstanding (pretty heavy Spanish accent) or if she just felt comfortable blaming black people for a damaged air hose. I happen to be white and look like a professional (had a dress shirt and tie on as I was coming home from work). Either way, super disappointed to hear racist comment to explain away a busted air hose that will cut you if you aren't extremely careful. Will avoid coming here ever again if possible. read more
