I tend to love shopping at these local markets when visiting smaller towns in the Eastern Sierra because they typically have great local goods, fun merchandise, quality local charm and character, and lively local operators who are happy to see you there. We popped into this shop in search of water and some ice cream novelties, which we certainly found, but beyond that, it was pretty bare bones and basic. The shelves were also pretty sparse, and the selection a bit thin too. Usually you can find just about anything you need in one of these stores, but unfortunately I'd say that you'd need to visit here and Ken's to guarantee you'll find what you need and may even find yourself driving to the next town for certain things. The shop is good in an emergency moment, but could be much more.

This store is a very critical stop for anything you'd need in between big shopping trips out of town. It has a good variety of touristy souvenirs, pantry staples, grocery items (meat, dairy, some produce), and items you'd find at a hardware or drug store. If you are in town for a fishing trip and need supplies...if you are passing through and want to pick up some snacks or goodies (try the Bridgeport Coffee Roasters coffee beans--they are delicious!), then this is a great stop for you.

Think of it as a grocery store, hardware, camping, souvenir shop, liquor store, and electronic accessories store all in one. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and most importantly, the prices are very reasonable for being a small business in a small town. It was under $10 for all of it, it seemed like a fair price for a shop in a mountain resort considering the coffee would be about $4 at your typical coffee shop. They also have a small grocery store inside and some basic camping needs. Merch includes T-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, magnets, shot glasses, and all the typical souvenir stuff. They seem to carry a lot of the same items you'll find at the other gift shops throughout the park plus a little extra. Still a convenient stop if you're looking for souvenirs or forgot a basic camping/grocery item.

The "big store" in Yosemite is apparently the Yosemite Village Store which is indeed...big. Yosemite Village Store is located obviously in Yosemite Village - we took the free bus to it, but it is also walkable. They also have a parking lot if you're more inclined to drive. The store had Yosemite apparel, stuffed animals, candles, soaps and even these really awesome photos of the different must see spots in Yosemite. Aside from all of that, they also have a grocery store on the other side which I believe is why they call it the "big store." We didn't need groceries so I didn't venture over to that side, but we did buy 5 t-shirts, a magnet for our fridge and a couple of other items. Overall, it's a great store and a must if you're looking for snacks, drinks or souvenirs - staff were also very friendly. Check it out!
