I searched for a place to fill my auto tires in Boston. There are very few good ones and those have bad reviews and very low ratings. The Citgo Fenway is convenient and the machine is good. You can set the desired pressure ( look at the sticker on the inside frame of you drivers door for the correct pressure for your tires/car). When the pressure gets to the desired pressure it beeps so you can quickly move on your the next tire. (Small tip: take all of the valve caps off before you put in the money so you can quickly get to all 4 tires and not need another 4 quarters) read more

Just based on the fact that these guys charge almost 2x what every other parking area on Boylston does for parking during Red Sox games, they automatically suck. FYI, Sox fans, don't park here. They regularly charge $60 and they block your car in. WTF? The Sunoco across the street "only" charges $35. Why anyone ever parks here is absolutely beyond me. Arrogant crooks! Told me they installed a brand new starter for $330, and I checked the model number and it was rebuilt. Should have charged $150. I am following up with them. They also ripped of the company I work for. Over $1400 for complete brake job plus some brake lines. The job was $725 at most. We will no longer go there. Plus their shop rates are $90 per hour? I mean who do they think they are? They are there to stick it too you. They also charge more labor than AllData standards, the recognized standard for labor and repair. read more

My mom was visiting from out of town and was having some car issues. She thought the lugnuts were loose because she felt one of the tires pulling. We brought her car to get checked before she hit the road. These guys were great. They saw us immediately, put the car on a lift, checked everything out and said we were fine to get home... but that she should have the wheels aligned when she gets back home. They didn't charge us a cent and wouldn't accept a tip. They filled up the car and pulled it up to the door. They were so polite I couldn't believe it! I late brought my car in for my (very overdue) inspection. I failed! It was a pain of a process to resolve at the car dealer (apparently there were some faulty sensors, the usual culprits in Jeep Grand Cherokees) but the guys at fenway shell were super helpful and informative, and got me in and out the door when I returned for a re-do. These guys are awful. I went there to get a state inspection. And the owner said he wouldn't pass me because I needed 3 new tires and I had to get them there before I would pass inspection. They are crooks. Never ever give them your business. read more

These guys shake you down like no other. I woke up one morning and my power steering had gone. All my efforts to fix it myself failed, but I was able (with the help of my dad and multimedia texts) to figure out the problem was with the serpentine belt. I went to the closes mechanic, Fenway Shell, showed them the pictures told them what was wrong and brought it in (it was a struggle and not terribly safe but better than a tow). All was fine until the guy quoted me a price-- triple what it all should have cost. Labor for the job was supposed to be 1/2 hour, they wanted to charge for 1 1/2 hours, they claimed they were giving aftermarket prices on parts when they could be obtained MUCH cheaper from a Ford dealer (this is taking into account a markup on their part). Nothing I said held any water with them until I got them on the phone with a male. We were able to talk them down to twice the price of what the job should have cost, after they overheard me saying "I've got time, I'll just drive it home so someone we trust can fix it." Oh, and here's some creative math for you-- an hour and a half of labor costs $100. Because they're nice guys, they bumped it down to an hour of labor costing $80. Hmm. 3 1/2 hours later I go to pick it up. They cannot accept credit card numbers (even if you have the card's exp. date and safety code) so I use my own. They lead me to the garage and open the door, and I am blocked by two cars parked side by side. "Oh, they'll move, just start up the car." Then he leaves. I start the car and wait. ONE car moves. I am not half blocked in by an unoccupied car and get to navigate around it or wait inside their garage indefinitely. The guy couldn't hang around a direct me? He couldn't move the parked car? I wouldn't have nitpicked on that if I hadn't already wasted an hour earlier negotiating with them for something close to a fair price. Bottom line-- if you must go here, do your research first about how much things should cost. read more

Due to my company's schedule in the Fenway area we have used this gas station regularly for our fleet for 20 plus years, today will be the last day we ever stop at this station for any reason, it seems in the last few weeks, fairly consistently the attendant is constantly absent from his duties at the register, he even yelled at one of my technicians about the sign he put in the window saying he would return in 10 minutes? This is odd as it happens every morning now, why bother advertising youre open 24 hours yet consistently having an absentee cashier every single morning? When he returns he appears to have his headphones on and sweaty as though he has been out back exercising? Odd way to run a business. I personally have dealt with this issue at his location, although not as often as my techs. My techs have also witnessed miltiple other customers at this location leaving in frustration due to the same reason. I have contacted Shell, whether hat will have any impact or not I dont know. I can tell as the owner and the person responsible for paying my customers invoices this will result in approximately $12-15000 worh of business a month transferring to the Sunoco across the street. read more

I parked there and they lost my key. They didn't even offer a refund or to pay for my key. They weren't sure if they gave mg key to another customer earlier during the day! I cannot believe the level of incompetence!!!After much yelling they refunded my fee but didn't offer to get another key made. Never again. read more

They charge $30 for basic oil change (that is their "special") and another $30 for a tire rotation. The going rate for the combo is $30 at several other places (i.e. Goodyear in Somerville, Munro, etc.). So scrap these guys unless you feel like getting ripped off. read more

I had my car checked for emissions here today. I have to say that I also recently had my car checked for emissions in Chicago, and in MA you have to get it checked again when you register your car...anyway...the point is, the man who checked my car was fast and thorough. It took probably half the time it took in Chicago--15 minutes total, I'd say. I had to wait for one other car ahead of me, but other than that I just showed up and they took care of me. If you use a card, They charge you 10 cents more for gas per gallon that is already over priced. I watched 3.99 (93 octane) turn into 4.09 on the screen. Thought about it for a second, then went across to Sunoco. You shouldn't have to pay 10 cents more for card ! Especial at a place where you pay more for gas anyways. Aside for that , Shell, doesn't give an impression of clean well maintain pumps. All there stuff looks really old and over used. I wouldn't ever get gas there. Just go across the street. Supposedly shell is top tier but maybe before the gas reaches their stations. Over rated brand. read more

Your wipers will fail their inspection every time. I've been twice and both times it was the same story. $30 for two blades. Don't go to these guys unless like me you live in the neighborhood and have more important things to do than worry about paying twice the reasonable price for a set of blades. I came here to get a vehicle inspection for my car, as I had just registered it for MA from out of state. I was a little wary of having my car inspected here since many of the reviews for this Shell are awful, but it was the closest inspection location to me so I went anyway. The inspection was very quick and efficient. The man carrying out the inspection had me check my lights, horn, blinkers, etc., then drove the car in to check the other inspection aspects. This took about five minutes, though he said it would take ten. I paid the allotted $35.00 for the vehicle inspection (to which my car passed) and was out of there in maybe fifteen minutes tops. They charged me $25 to change a headlight bulb. and the bulb was extra. $25 just for the labor. i've changed the bulbs before in the van, it takes 2 seconds. i've done cars before where it takes 15 minutes, like an e90 3, but this just isn't one of them. i guess if you want it done right do it yourself read more

These guys are crooks. Absolute crooks. They kept my car for a day to work on a fairly straightforward stalling problem. At the end of the day, the mechanic rattled off several possibilities that anybody could dream up and offered to put in a fuel pump for about $1,000 without even knowing if that was the cause of the problem. If I had not been fairly experienced in dealing with garages, I might have actually fallen for it. Before I could drive my car away, I had to pay a $90 diagnostic fee. So after an entire day of waiting and $90, I was no closer to having my car fixed than I was in the morning. And the mechanic had a smug way of acting like he was doing me a favor. They pretty much ignore you for about 20 minutes before you can talk to them. Crooks. Stay away. Far away. read more

I've been getting my car inspected here for years. I've been very happy with things so far. They're quick, professional, and the one time my car did fail, they took care of it for a reasonable price.
