I only bought gas here. It's a gas station. The pumps work, they have current state certification, and with the credit card swipe I don't have to talk to anyone. That's all good. I came to Shell because they have a reciprocity deal with Giant Food and I get a discount on fuel based on my grocery purchases. Two stars because two customers pulled in during the time I was fueling and left their engines running while pumping gas. An employee came out to glad hand and hang out with the owners of the running cars. Really not impressed. I'll use another Shell station for my needs in future. No impact on my assessment as it is second hand, but by golly the rude and boorish responses of the station owner to other reviews is really disturbing. I would not and will not ever use this station for any mechanical service based entirely on that behavior. read more

i've been using sovereign / eastport shell for the past 4-5 years for most of our regular maintenance as well as tire mounting / balancing (shipped directly from tire rack) on our older cars (2 BMWs, one with 130K miles). i've been really happy with the service. they're typically flexible and easy to schedule and i've never had to return for do-overs. prices are average to better than some. i absolutely trust their recommendations on non-routine maintenance / repairs since they have twice saved us money on unnecessary work that was pushed by a dealership. read more

I looked online to make sure the gas station would still be open. The times are listed as open until 9pm on Saturdays. When I went to the gas station, the lady had already closed and said that they close at 845pm and not the time listed. She said she needed those 15minutes to do paperwork so she could leave at 9pm. She said that the closing times listed were for the employees, and the time they stop helping customers is 15 minutes before the actual closing time. Someone might want to tell their staff this. read more

This place is terrible. I was told it would take 1.5 hours to get my car inspected. I left it with them and came back 3 hours later and they hadn't even started. I had originally gone to them when they opened so that I would be the first car they would work on. But they put several other cars in front of me as soon as I dropped off my car. The manager, Bud, was terrible. Do not go here. As I type this, which is 5.5 hours after I dropped off my car, they still have not done the inspection. read more

I took my car to Sovereign to have a simple oil change. After paying for the service I went to get in my car and the door handle simply lifted off the car. I notified the owner that someone had broken the door handle off and put it back on the car like nothing happened. The owner defended his staff and denied responsibility even after telling me they had trouble getting in the car. The owner said to me "Look at the car, It's a piece of sh*t, I'm not going to repair it but I'd be happy to give you an estimate." (The car is a 95 Nissan Pathfinder, but door handles don't just fall off.) Repairing the door handle ended up costing me $150 at a station down the road but I at least felt comfortable giving my business to an owner with better ethics, morals and certainly better customer service skills. read more

Made an appointment to have my car inspected a week in advance, and was told the inspection would take 1.5 hours. I told them I would have to wait in the area and they assured me it would be ready on time. Dropped it off at the specified time. Was told "Well, you're second in line, it might take a little longer. We'll call you when it's ready." Showed up 3 hours later and they had not even touched it. The service manager there appears perpetually befuddled and disorganized. Pretty lame for a shop that only has two bays. read more

I took my truck to the Eastport Shell for MD State Inspection. I was at work, so my girlfriend offered to take it in for me. They told her that it would take "about an hour, two at most", so rather than go home she decided to walk across the Eastport bridge to grab a coffee downtown and read a book (in December, mind you). Not that I expect anyone to do nice things, but the polite thing would have been to offer a ride somewhere or at least inquire as to what someone would be doing while they waited, but oh well - no luck. Fast forward to 3 hours later (no phone call from shop) I receive an email explaining the results of the inspection, great - time to tell my girlfriend to go pick it up. She walks in to the reception area and is treated rather rudely, told that it's not ready and to wait for the call. Okay, no problem, maybe they went out to lunch after they finished the inspection? I get it. Well now it's 3:30, 6 hours after dropping off the truck, and I get the call that it's ready. If the results were ready at 12:30, what was going on for the last 3 hours? Who knows. But wait, it gets worse. My girlfriend shows up to pick up the truck, and wouldn't you know it... they can't find the keys. So another 15 minutes pass and finally they're found and my girlfriend can go home. All in all, this is just another example of a business not knowing how to handle customer service, because all you had to do was tell the truth that your shop cannot handle the inspection today, and I would have taken the truck somewhere else. But to waste 6 hours of the day on an inspection, after telling us it would take "2 hours at most" and not calling once to explain the delay, well that's just bad business. In the end, the worst thing about this was that no single individual at this shop offered an apology to my girlfriend or me, showing that they really couldn't care less about wasting her entire day and treating her like dirt. I will never even buy gas from this location again, let alone go to them for any sort of service. read more

I've tried giving these guys the benefit of the doubt on several occasions but each time to no avail they have disappointed me and proven lousy service. My experiences have been the following: 1. Did not have it ready when promised on two occasions and once they did not complete the oil change as requested/documented. 2. Left the oil cap off when returned to me. 3. Quoted a service for $80 but then the price went up to $250 due to manufacturers recommendation which was fine but they never bothered to inform me prior to. 4. Most recently they performed their "courtesy check" and stated that they adjusted the tire pressure to 32 lbs. Two days later my husband drove it and noticed it pulling to the right. When he checked the tires they were all below 24 lbs and one was 18. 5.Lastly I opened up the hood to replace my air filter and noticed that they left their drop light under my hood wedged next to the engine. A coworker went there to have her oil changed and they drained the oil but failed to replace with any new oil! I wish I was making these up but unfortunately I'm not. I really tried on several occasions and have gone there for the convenience but when they lied to me about performing a service that's where I draw the line. I can tolerate simple human mistakes but paying for lies is where I draw the line. I will never go back to them would not recommend them but know options may be limited so if you do at least double check the work they say they did. read more

I was referred by a friend. I took the car in the Tues at 8am and was told the car would be done by that day. They never got to it, since my family celebrates Thanksgiving on Wed, I had to have the car back by 3pm, owner said no problem, bring it back tomorrow and it will be the first done. Brought the car back 8am on wed and they did not finish until 5:30pm. Furthermore, while waiting I watched as the mechanics stood around joking and laughing for 30 minutes while my car was the only one there. I brought my own parts and they charged me bascially $400 labor for front brake pad change and front wheel hub change?? This should take no longer than two hours labor, 3 hours at the max. In addition, they pro-offered not even a small discount for bascially ruining a family outing and not delivering on time as promised. If they could not do the work on time knowing my situation, they should have sent me elsewhere. I will not use them again and will tell friends to stay away as well. read more
