To only find out it was sold. Yep, I was a bit heated because I had my credit ran. Read that over again, I actually came into the dealer without a check this time. They searched for another car located in PA. They told me they would follow up in the morning, since it's possible it may have been sold as well. I went home a little salty. I felt like again a game had been played to get me in the door and collect my info. However, 2 wks later Mike called and promised he had a car available. I came in the door brought my attitude with me as I still felt played. Yet, Mike was still calm. He knew I wasn't playing and assured me in every way he could that the car was fully available and ready to go out the door with my name on it. We did. I appreciate Mikes follow up and consistency in the "made up crazy" car market. They did of course offer other packages as all dealers do for security system, ding, and maintenance. The young lady was patient still explained and answered questions. She even went over it again when my family returned to the table just to be sure. The finance guy was cool and answered questions we had. He worked his sales game too. The manager was great, understood the reasoning behind my challenges and met me where he could. I left with a smile, tude thrown out the window. Got the car, they made a sale. I will return here again. Check out my other car experience a few months ago. This was 1001 times better then the first. I appreciate the patience and explanation for every question I had to work through whatever may have been a challenge in understanding. Thank you. This notes I don't only post bad reviews Mike thank you, I was about to call your parents if that car was not available. Somebody was going to get headlocked! I was unaware at the time that they were required by law to submit a time-of-sale report to the IRS Energy Credits Online system, and give me a copy of the accepted report to file with my tax return to get the $4000 rebate. When the IRS rejected my claim due (they had no record of the sale), I immediately reached out to the dealership - and that's when the run-around began. I have received assurance after assurance that they are "looking into it," but they are just stalling. I'm convinced at this point that they signed the rebate over to themselves. I have the email thread with the endless promises to look into it. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!

I was on a tight schedule, and my usual was totally swamped, so they referred me to this shop right behind them. I thought it was kind of cool because they had me drive up and drive around a little bit to try and find out where the tire leak was coming from. I'm used to them just doing everything themselves, so personally I like being part of the process somehow. They also gave me a heads up before proceeding that based on where the leak was coming from, it would cost more than normal. They could've just done it without asking, so I appreciate it that gesture! Within a few hours, my car was ready. Now, later on that evening, I realized that the tire was still leaking, but I took it back as soon as I could and they addressed the problem at no additional cost. And they did it right on the spot! I can't remember the last time that I got car work done without having to come back later. They are professional, and overall get work done faster... Even though it can be hard to gauge because my tire may be on its last leg (yikes). I would recommend them to anyone in the area.

It pains me to write this review as I have been a very VERY loyal customer to Dr Auto Repair for…read moremany years. Today, however, crossed a line for me and I am compelled to leave this feedback for others. I took my vehicle in for brake work and in usual fashion, the shop turned around the repairs quickly. My issue was with my pick up today and what transpired thereafter (resulting in being awoken from a nap to banging on my door by shop workers). Context and back story here is I am in the IT industry and had a late night software deployment last night. I dropped my kids off this morning at day care (my wife has been out of town at this point on travel for a few weeks, so i am extra tired) and then made my way via uber over to the shop to pick up my vehicle. Upon arriving (I was paying by cash), I told the shop who i was, what vehicle i was picking up - and was told the bill was already taken care of, and that I was all set and good to go. Now here's the key detail - My truck which was serviced was boxed in, thus in order for me to get it out in the first place, another vehicle had to be moved by the shop (not by me), which they did. As I was driving home, I had a call for something pertaining to my software release from the earlier morning come up, and during that call missed a call from the shop. Upon returning home I took a nap since I had a late night of work + exhaustion from the kids. I was awoken not too long after by banging on my door (not just once, multiple times; which awoke me from an upstairs room). When I went to open my door I was confronted by shop workers, and told that I left without paying (and the way they were grilling me; on purpose). I told them I was told the bill was taken care of and good to go. I went through the details of everything that happened, and realized that there was a mix up where it was thought I was a different customer (which is fine, mistakes happen). I gladly paid immediately after there was a clarification. However, I was very very put off by the shop's tactics and intent to portray this as if I knowingly and intentionally did something wrong here. Even after explaining what happened, one of the two of the workers that came out continued to bash me as if I maliciously did this. The kicker about all of this. The work for my vehicle had not been fully completed at the time of pick up. I called back to speak with Mr. Al (who is very nice) and explained what happened and he agreed there was a misunderstanding. It was then called out to me that I needed to bring the vehicle back to complete the remaining work. I never received a receipt for the transaction, and was never apologized to by the workers that came out to gang up over the misunderstanding. I am big on loyalty and customer satisfaction, and this entire experience has soured me to this shop and/or recommending it to others in the future. All it would have taken is giving a listen with an open ear, vs assuming that I somehow moved the vehicles boxing the vehicle in myself in order to somehow move the vehicle without visiting the office for payment and get the key (which i did), then being told I was all set and good to go. I want to stress Mr. Al is a very nice man and apologized on behalf of the workers that came out, however this experience has left me upset all day given the assumption that I had ill intent after being a loyal returning customer for all of these years. UPDATE: I should add, the shop has done work for free on my vehicles before, and Vincent said the mechanic noticed something and fixed it, so 'happy birthday'. According to them I should have probably asked then who paid for that too (and you can see how I would think things were set if told the bill was taken care of). In this instance my vehicle was released to me after I told them the specific make/model (not that i was picking up a pickup truck) - The other pickup truck was completely different make/model. The accusatory nature when coming to my home and banging on my door was borderline harassment and my reaction to the entire situation would have been different if it was approached more neutral as "Hey, there was a misunderstanding we got the vehicles confused despite telling you it was paid for", not "YOU DIDN'T PAY, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU". I started going to this shop during the pandemic SEEKING out ways to support black businesses. Never in a million years would I have thought the business would treat me as if I am a criminal after having been a loyal customer for many years prior to this incident and never once having any issue or experience like this. I have had 2 vehicles services here well over 10 times in total or more - yet am treated like this..

I needed to find a spot that was closeby and DID NOT CHARGE MUCH FOR EXCELLENT WORK. The dealership told me that they would "gladly" do X,Y and Z but that "it would have to come at a larger price now". So, I told them to hold that thought and I would let them know. Well, I did let them know I found a place I decided to stick with, Rising Sun Motors. There was a time period where I LEGIT had to fix like 3 things in a row. Would have cost me well over 1,800 (close to 2 grand) at the dealership... here, everything for $850/900 max. For ALL of it. On top of this, they gave me gift cards for a free oil change and other discounts for future work. NO other place takes care of their customers like this. Mind you, they also provide customers with a FREE uber home and back (within reasonable area of closeness to the shop. I am 3 minutes away (via car).. but, it still means a lot that they think about their customers and their time constraints (for instance, I work from home some days and I was easily able to get the car in and have the uber get me back home by sign on time.. never any issues with that, either). I have a 2017 Buick Verano (for those wondering what genre of cars they work on) but, they work on a LARGE array of cars, years, etc. They treat everyone like a PERSON and not a number. Also, there is a cute shop dog who loves everyone. :) If you need a place to go that will get you honesty, good work and will not break the bank... look no further than Rising Sun!! :)
