Considering the prices, I felt the amount you received was too small. I don't mind paying more for quality food, but when you're spending a decent amount of money, you expect a more reasonable portion of the main protein. The service was also hit-or-miss. Sometimes it was fine, and other times it left a lot to be desired. Between the inconsistent service and the small portions, we eventually stopped going there. I know I'm not the only one who felt this way, as I've heard similar complaints from others regarding the portion sizes. That said, I want to be fair and mention that I haven't ordered from them in the past two years, so things may have changed since my last visit. The food itself was always flavorful, and I hope they've addressed some of these concerns because the quality of the food was never the issue.

We didn't have to wait long before the food was served. The chicken came off the bone so easily, and it was nicely seasoned as well. The dish came on a large bed of rice and a delicious lentil soup, along with dipping sauce. The price was pretty affordable given the size as well. The place was brightly lit and there was lots of space each time I went. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

The owner is super friendly. The food is 100% fresh, hot, tasty. The meat specifically is cooked to perfection and so juicy. Recently, we also ordered their chicken and that was a hit, but for me personally I would prefer to always go with the lamb mandi as it's the best one I've had.

Lamb Mandi: The Lamb was cooked very well with Bone Marrow still intact and Meat very juicy and tender, however, the rice was just normal rice *not* cooked with the meat so it had no essence of it. Chicken Mandi: This was tasteless throughout, chicken was tender and juicy, however was pretty tasteless and the rice was the same as Lamb rice. Service: Two cute little girls take your order, Parents are in the back making food for you. Doesn't get any more "family" than this. So thats a big plus. Before I forget, breakfast is served here: Shakshuka (eggs coddled in a spicy tomato sauce), breads hot from the oven, etc. A juice bar has been added since I last visited, with baskets of fresh mangoes, pineapples and melons. Order at the counter, and you're given a number for your table. If you're doing takeout, you pay immediately; if eating in, pay as you leave. The menu is bilingual, but I was unfamiliar with many of the dishes. As Mark Twain put it, "I was informed but not educated." I opted for an easy one: lamb chops over rice. Everything is cooked to order, but according to Islamic dietary rules. That is to say, nobody asked me if I'd like my lamb rare or medium. The char on the lamb was outstanding! This place expanded my horizons and how I view persian cuisine. I already knew persian cuisine was great because of the flavorful kebabs, but this adds a whole new level of appreciation to the cuisine! I'd definitely highly recommend the Jujuni, its pretty sweet but we paired it with the bread and its really satisfying. We found ourselves wiping the dish clean, always wanting one more last taste. The braised lamb is so tender, as soon as we picked up the bone the meat immediately fell off. It was cooked to perfection, and the rice was really rich and had all sorts of fun textures because of the added components. As we were ordering, once the waiter found out this was our first time at the restaurant and we weren't sure what to order, the owner came and explained each dish to us and gave us recommendations based on what we were craving. Really personalized experience and a great intro to persian cuisine for those who have only have kebabs and koobideh before this.

I was looking for a special night out in Hamilton (something I'd never had to do in the past) and…read moremy research took me to an Airbnb experience that was this hidden gem. I'd never experienced anything like Saha in the past (the closest thing would be Urban Acorn Catering) but what Chef Khalil does with Saha is run a pop up restaurant at his own place in Hamilton that serves up a top of the line Middle Eastern Tasting Menu that he makes and plays host along with his lovely wife. We had a 5 course tasting menu, but with Chef Khalil being so fantastic, we ended up with a total of 9 wonderful courses (10 if you count the Arabic coffee to finish). Left feeling very full and just blown away at this delicious and wonderfully intimate experience. I won't go in to very detailed descriptions of the courses, but in all honesty every single one was a highlight, it was very difficult to pick a favourite, for me it was probably the Halibut, with Arabian tapenade that also had crispy chicken skin, I don't think I've ever had a fish dish topped with chicken and it was amazing! The feast for the eyes was definitely his dessert, a pomegranate mouse surrounded by cardamom meringues! Those 2 dishes looked amazing but tasted even better!! Red meat is my least favourite thing to eat, so I appreciated the rib of lamb not being massive, and appreciated it even more that it was a medium rare delight! What really made this evening special was the ambiance that Chef Khalil and his wife sets in their living room, a small intimate space perfect for a romantic night with a nice tall table candle and Arabic music to go with it. Throughout the evening chef would keep checking on us to make sure everything was going great, and talk about the dish we were about to have. He makes everything in house, which really blew me away, considering it was just for 2 of us and he makes such a large variety of dishes! It is BYOW, and I'm glad I messaged him beforehand to ask for his recommendation for what type of wine to bring along, since even my clumsy selection of wine worked out great thanks to his suggestion. While I found Saha through Airbnb I would recommend people just go to it via his regular website to get more info and make reservations too (cheaper than Airbnb).Chef Khalil hopes to open Saha as an intimate restaurant in Toronto next year, and I don't think there is anyone else doing a middle eastern tasting menu, but even compared to the tasting menus of O&B and the momofuku's in the world, Saha truly holds up, and I can't recommend this pop up version enough, especially for the price of close to $100/person (or less if you opt for fewer courses) it's truly a steal! I wish him and his wife the best moving forward!
