We loved the idea of getting to share some of our favorite local food (Terry Black's BBQ) with our guests, which made DNA a great choice for us. They handled all the coordination with Terry Black's, and then we also used the sister company Dagar's to cater the non-BBQ portions of the meal (salads, breads, non-alcoholic drinks, etc.) DNA also picked up and carved the brisket on the day-of. The service was excellent - Alanna took such great care of my husband and I, and we heard nothing but compliments from our guests on the food (both the brisket and the excellent salads from Dagar's) and the professionalism of the servers. On the logistics side, Terry Black's did end up being harder to work with than expected, so I also want to give credit to DNA for sticking with it. While the BBQ was excellent and we had personal reasons for using them, they changed their prices multiple times, had requirements that added complexity, and internal turnover almost derailed an agreement DNA had already negotiated. Thanks to the DNA team for their perseverance there!

I reached out to DNA events and got ahold of Kathryn. We corresponded via e-mail and phone to get estimates about staffing costs which were very reasonable and would take us significantly closer to our budget. I circled back with the catering company to let them know we would need drop off only and they replied they would not allow for an outside staffing company for weddings. I let Kathryn know what they said and she actually reached out to the company via e-mail since she had connections with there to try to allow DNA to serve their food. The company still wouldn't allow an outside company to serve but they worked with us on pricing and we got everything we wanted within our budget. She made us super happy with just putting in that extra effort to get the ball rolling on a solution for trimming costs and I will definitely be recommending everyone to use DNA events for staffing needs in the future. By the way, this all happened in a day. She is great with corresponding and keeping me in the know with the next possible step. Thanks for you time and advice! :)

If you don't read anymore of this very long and thorough review, please read the next sentence as…read moreit will sum everything up. HIRE SOMEONE ELSE TO PLAN YOUR WEDDING!!!! Seriously, if I was not smart, well organized, and a good planner, Tracy Zbranek of Events by Decisions very well could have ruined my wedding. Other than being incredibly charming and pretty, I have no idea how she is staying in business and I feel so sorry for couples who have hired her. I almost fired her three times but didn't because I knew I would be out $3000 that would not be refunded. In her defense, she was somewhat helpful day of. Below are specific examples of my dealings with Tracy from March 2011 to September 2012. Professionalism One of my friends heard her saying nasty things about me, the bride, at my reception. I know it's true because it was recorded. Many people complained about her to me after the wedding and said she was "rude." She drinks way too much and it's just not professional to get smashed at business meetings. It's also not professional to run your hand down my now husband's chest and abs when you say goodbye because you're drunk. Yeah, she did that. She was pretty much late to everything. 5-10 minutes at times, over 1 hr for our initial meeting. Communication Communication with Tracy was challenging to say the least. When she responds to emails it is usually not prompt. Many of my emails went completely unanswered or required 1-2 weeks for a response, with me sending additional inquiry messages. Received responses often didn't address the question or issue at all. There were several times when calls were not returned, promises to call were made and never followed through on, etc. *Organization If you are an organized person there is no reason why you should ask the same questions over and over again because you didn't write down the answers. That happened a lot. So many things were wrong with my reception and she would have caught them had she been more organized. She didn't even notice that the linen company completely left out all of my table runners from the order. This was probably because 1 hr before the rental company closed for the weekend they called me to ask if anyone would be coming to pick up the order, something she was tasked to do! Creativity The phrase "One Trick Pony" comes to mind. She loves to do brunches at Mansion at Judges Hill. Thinking outside the box is not her forte. I was promised an inspiration board when I signed my contract with EDI. I never received one. She did nothing regarding my wedding design. Referrals / Negotiation with Vendors Tracy can get you some awesome discounts. There were several times that we got the hook up because she is very well connected. She is also a great saleswoman and can negotiate like a beast. The problem is that she likes to use the same vendors and makes the same referrals for everyone (Paper Place, Simon Lee...) Some are great places but they are also very pricey. For a bride on a budget they are often just a dream. She sent me to vendors she knew were way out of my budget which only served to waste my time and frustrate me because I just couldn't afford all of the beautiful things laid out before me. I ended up basically finding all of my own vendors. Overall, her communication with vendors was seriously lacking. She failed to let our cake vendor know our cake was leaning and looked like it might fall over. She failed to return the rented cake stand in a timely manner, as she promised me, and cost me a $50 deposit. Value Sure, she might save you money but at what cost to your sanity? Working with her was a maddening and incredibly frustrating experience. I sincerely regret hiring her. I'm not angry anymore and I refuse to let anything about my experiences with her ruin the memory of what was my very special day. But I wish I hadn't hired her and I hope that anyone who reads this won't have to go through what I went through. A lot of the previous reviews reflect a time when there was another partner, Shannon, in the business. She isn't with EDI anymore and it's just Tracy. If you choose to go forward with EDI, best of luck to you. You're going to need it!

If you are looking to hire a wedding planner, LOOK ELSEWHERE. We are still in the process of filing a suit against her. Really hope all brides do not have to go through the same BS I did. Your wedding day is stressful enough, hire someone who is reliable and will actually do the job you pay for. This person is not Tracy.

I got married back in November 2022 and hesitated writing this review, but wanted to provide a…read morerealistic review of my experience with Redbook. As a bride the two most important things I wanted for my wedding and where most of wedding budget was going to was one food and second photography/videography. I chose Redbook based on the reviews and variety of food they provided. I am Vietnamese and my husband is American and we wanted to have food that reflected both of our upbringings. I appreciated that they had option to customize dishes. From the very beginning, I made it extremely clear I was a vegetarian. I made it clear through the booking, the wedding food tasting we paid extra for at $150, and multiple emails and calls. We made sure on our wedding day we had scheduled 30 minutes to eat before doing all wedding stuff (pictures, greeting tables, dances etc). Imagine my absolute HORROR when on my wedding day as the bride the plate was brought to me had meat on it. Ok mistakes happen - I told the server I am a vegetarian. She then proceeded to tell me she was not informed of this and there was NOT a plate for me and it would take 20 minutes to prepare my plate for me. It's one thing if you're the guest - it's another when you're the bride. My wedding planner could see the absolute devastation on my face and proceeded to try to correct this. I ended up having to wait almost full 20 minutes my food and my poor husband tried to give me some carrots off his plate. I ended up rushing to eat my meal and didn't even get to enjoy food we had paid for. Another was that some of the tables did not receive the food that was set on our menu, including some of the wedding party. We had paid more for table service and guests were disappointed they did not receive the food that was on the menu. The other issue was as well in the beginning, both me and my wedding planner had difficulty getting in contact with Adriana. I completely understand missing an email here and there, but we often would have to send 3 emails spaced multiple days apart before we heard in a response. We also would try phone call/texting and it would take some time before we heard a response. She did however improve once we had a conversation about it, which I appreciate. For full transparency we paid $30,964 for catering for 240 person wedding. This included family style service, charcuterie board for grazing for our cocktail hour, Vietnamese tostada for passing around, custom Vietnamese salad and soup for the table, shrimp dish, mushroom fried rice, ribeye, roasted chicken, mushroom "short ribs", roasted baby carrots, and celery root puree. It also included 5 vendor meals, gratuities, and serving platters. So you can imagine why my expectations were higher than received. Overall, I hope that Redbook improved since my wedding. I think overall I was disappointed - I believe I received better service and food at the wedding food tasting rather than my actual wedding. I didn't spare any expense when it came to food (in fact my husband and I had Salt and Straw our favorite ice cream company based in Portland ship their ice cream to us for our wedding) and it was sad that our guests remembered the ice cream more than the actual food. I acknowledge that Red Book was working at a new venue they had never worked at before, but still I would have expected better communication and overall better logistical planning for the price I paid.

She wanted to share the nostalgic experience of these hand-dipped, hand-cut luxury chocolates. The box is simplistic yet eye catching. Once opened, there are three cards. The first was of course was the business card, second was tasting tips, which I did not take lightly, and the third was a description of the chocolates. My coworkers were curious and eager to try, but it was gifted to me, and I wanted to share while tasting it myself. I cut one chocolate into three slices, and we savored the surprisingly thick slices. With that piece, I was able to get three small nibbles which I enjoyed with every taste on the tongue. I would not recommend shoving an entire piece into your mouth. It's better to take a small bite and allow it to melt on your tongue, which was on the tasting card tip.
