My husband and I initially wanted another well-known BBQ Asian fusion restaurant to cater our…read morewedding and were pretty set on it. But after our guest list grew, we had to move locations and our venue was no longer within their catering vicinity. I searched high and low for different vendors that fit the fusion that we wanted, but couldn't find anything that fit just right (or that didn't break the bank). Then I somehow stumbled across Rebel Catering on Google. They had a wide variety of packages for food varying from Asian, to bbq, to Mexican. They didn't have a ton of reviews, and it seemed like they mostly did corporate events, but I gave them a call. I'll be honest, I was a bit apprehensive of how incredibly chill Rahul is at first (because I was already stressed out), but when I told him about our vision, he immediately checked with his chefs and created an incredible menu for us. My mom and mother in law's primary request was copycats of the other restaurant's corn fritters, and he even delivered on that. I'll attach a picture of the menu, but our minds were blown at the quality and freshness of the food. Buffet style brisket is HARD and he and his team crushed it. I even had friends with allergies and he accommodated them without question. The most popular part of the night though was the shaved ice. Part of Rebel Catering is their shaved ice package with alcoholic shaved ice (TABC bartender included). They had custom flavors to match our Asian fusion theme, and even brought their truck in to serve our guests! They also created a custom flavor named after our cat and created a sign with a cute cartoon of him. They also had tons of other drinks including sodas, jelly drinks, boba drinks, and energy drinks. TLDR: HIRE REBEL CATERING. Your guests will love you forever.

If you're looking for comfort food that hits all the right notes, look no further than Let me…read morediscuss the King Ranch Chicken from The Daily Spread which I drive from New Braunfels every year at Christmas for. From the moment you take your first bite, it's clear that Stephanie, the owner of The Daily Spread, knows exactly what she's doing. The creamy, cheesy layers of chicken, tortillas, and a rich blend of flavors are perfectly balanced. The homemade ranch sauce adds just the right amount of tang, while the chicken is tender and perfectly seasoned. It's a nostalgic dish for my wife and I, yet elevated in a way that only someone with Stephanie's culinary expertise could pull off. What stands out the most, though, is the care and attention Stephanie pours into every dish. You can taste the love in the food, and it's why I make the drive every year. The King Ranch Chicken isn't just a meal; it's an experience--a comforting, satisfying one that you'll crave long after your plate is empty. If you haven't tried it yet, do yourself a favor and grab a serving next time you're in the area. It's a true testament to Stephanie's passion for cooking and her dedication to creating quality, comforting food.

Due to the holidays I was having a hard time getting response from several other caterers. Stephanie was all over it. Very responsive, and informative...even as she was about to be on vacation. On her return she reached out to finalize the details. Stephanie was there, personally, to make sure our event went off without a hitch. She showed up exactly on time everyday. The food was exactly as ordered and there was a lot of it. Was it good? Day one, all the main dishes were gone and when there were extras I had people taking to-go plates at the end of the day. I think we hit all the challenges, vegetarian, gluten free, I don't like pork so I want other options, I hate mushrooms. Stephanie was there to help. Everyday was a different offering and variety was a key factor. When we come back to Austin, you can bet Daily Spread will be the first call we make.

She guided us in our menu selection and style of catering, and in the end put together a fabulous spread for our wedding! We had wanted to stay away from the typical meals you find at weddings, and gravitated toward comfort food incorporated with upscale dining. After speaking to her about the types of restaurants and foods we like, she set up a tasting for us and our parents with what we had come up with. She hit the nail on the head with every morsel! There was a selection of appetizers, main dishes and sides to choose from, as well as a refreshing non-alcoholic watermelon juice drink. Everything was phenomenal! We ended up choosing a tuna tartare, open-faced duck taco, and goat cheese tartlet for our cocktail reception appetizers--all super yummy! We also had a mac and cheese station, with truffles as an option to add, which we thoroughly enjoyed! There were also two specialty drinks we came up with last minute (one "girl" drink--a white wine peach sangria, and one "boy" drink--a vodka martini infused with jalapeño and cucumber)--those went fast! The sit-down reception started off with a salad consisting of butter lettuce, blue cheese, candied walnuts and green apple with a lemon basil vinaigrette--sooooo good. We decided to do family style dining for our guests to choose whichever dishes they like and the amount they wanted. For the main dishes, there was an amazing beef tenderloin (really on par with some great steakhouses) with French compound butter & crispy fried onions and a succulent halibut with Italian salsa verde, quinoa and sautéed kale. The sides were potatoes au gratin, which was creamy and rich, and sautéed garlic spinach. Everyone couldn't stop talking about how extraordinary all the food was! Leslie also helped us with our linen selection, which included all the dishware and glassware as well as any extras like custom tables. She really knew the style we were going for, so it made for a quick and easy appointment. I didn't have to worry about dealing with that particular vendor at all--she did all the work for me! Only thing I didn't like was that the vendor didn't provide the same salad plates (they were gold-plated) to match all the silver-plated dinner plates. Other than that, Leslie also dealt with the entire alcohol and bartender situation at my venue, which was confusing to me--that was much appreciated! Overall, I'm super satisfied with how everything turned out, and beyond impressed with the high level of restaurant-quality food that was provided! I would love to go back just to do another tasting cuz it was that good!
