I walked inside of the store, placed my order, socially distanced as I stood in line, and when I got to the cashier to pay, I presented my Rewards Card, and was charged full price. When I inquired as to why the 25% discount wasn't honored the cashier said "that's for online orders only". Strangely, that is NOT mentioned on the billboard, nor on the flyers posted inside the store. I went ahead and paid full price for the item, then patiently waited near the pickup counter when the gal working behind there said "they didn't have enough chicken tenders prepared." I didn't have time to wait and didn't want bone-in chicken as a substitution. I buy the chicken tenders for my pet as a treat, and I buy them every few days, but usually at the Hedgesville Road location. So I told her to forget about it and I waited again in the line to get a refund. Upon returning home, I went to the ROCS website and lodged a complaint. You would think a loyal customer (they can verify via the transaction history) would minimally get a response. As of today's date -- no response. For good measure, I wanted to test out the online ordering portion of the mobile app (new version) that I had on my telephone. I am such a loyal customer that I have FIFTEEN 25% off promotions on my card that I haven't used. I tried to order online, but again, the 25% would not be honored, not even on the online order. The card I have in my possession and registered with the site has an 800# that doesn't work, and the listed email for "help" doesn't work either. I called the local office on John Street and got voicemail, so I left a message. I have gone to the Hedgesville location at least 3 more times since the Kelly Island fiasco and asked the sales clerks for help and no one can seem to figure it out. One fellow told me he asked the manager about my issue and they have no clue what is going on. The clerks at the Hedgesville location did give me a discount when I show them on my phone all of the points/promotions I have accumulated. As as act of good faith, I picked up the new brochure and a new ROCS Rewards card so I could possibly register a new card. When I go to register this new card, although inputting all of the numbers and registration code correctly, it tells me that it is inactive or the input was incorrect. I have made numerous attempts and know the inputs are accurate, although the system seems to disagree. Since from the website, I received no resolution to my complaint, I went to ROCS Facebook page and sent several messages. At this writing, it's been 6 days now without a whisper from anyone representing ROCS. I decided to email ROCS direct at their stated email address of help@rocsstarrewards.com, and the email continuously gets bounced back to me. I had no other alternative than to place this truthful and candid review of ROCS Convenience Stores because of their lack of professionalism in attending to customer needs. I haven't been to Sheetz in YEARS because I have been loyal to my "local neighborhood store", but I am highly considering making Sheetz my new go-to. It will either be that, or the new Rutter's that will be going in nearby. I will convey, that the staff at the Kelly Island store was rude and insincere when they "apologized for the inconvenience." But in contrast, the staff at the Hedgesville Road location have always been fantastic, friendly, efficient and helpful. I am currently weighing my options.

On my way back home I decided to fuel myself up and was the reason for this particular stop. I found a place to park and went inside to place my order on the touchscreen. I already knew what I was going to get which was my usual order when I make a stop at one of these. From the time of my visit here until right now as I am typing this review, it appears that this location is temporarily closed. Usually, on the Sheetz website, that means they are updating the property. Usually a teardown and rebuild to either expand the store or add something to the property. After the touchscreen I made my way to the registers to pay and paid. Made my way back to the kitchen area and waited for my food to be prepared. Once it was ready I then headed out to my vehicle. Sheetz is one of the few places I always check my food before I leave. Upon inspection my food was correct. I usually grab something small to nosh on during the rest of my trip. Food was on par for a Sheetz which I appreciate. Great stop. And it appears that if there is an update, that will make it better here.

I had a great experience here in that they didn't hesitate to ring me up and today was a special day for their mascot beverage chiller, Slurpee!! Fifty years old for this tasty drink in many flavors. I love love love Coke flavor, so that's what I got for free! The store had a sign on the door on where to go get your freebie and cups ready for Slurpee fans. There was a nice associate mopping the floor from spills and the clerk's kept people moving. Hot ready-made burgers, hot dogs, pizza, and taquitos were on the counter. Cold sandwiches, salads, fruits, and cheese/ yogurts in the open fridge bay. There were baked goods and cold desserts for the sweet tooth. Outside you can get quick auto fluids, bags of ice, and rent a movie! They also had their huge trash bags in out front to dump trash. If you're into lottery tickets, they have them! Get yours before you fill up with gas there. Being located in the corner of this narrow street, it's a nice convenience for the area. It's safe and friendly which is nice when on a secluded back road. Don't get spooked! Finally, if you cannot find it, on the right side corner of the t-boned stop from the main highway exit, there's a toilet being used as a planter with plants and flowers in it. Just turn right and head a mile or two to find the store on the left. You can find it that way. Ha!

They're more like gasoline station/convenience store operations. You really wouldn't want to do your family grocery shopping at a Rocs. But for a convenience store or to fill up with gasoline (this particular station is a BP) they're rather good, super clean and friendly. ROCS Local Market is also a rather good fast food operation with foot long dogs, pizza, varying sandwiches and what they term "mini-meals." For what it is, being little more than a typical gasoline/convenience store operation, it's one of the better ones.
