An extra star for the employees who are fighting against impossible odds to do a good job. Stuck in an odd location with a parking lot that invites road rage and automotive combat, this Sheetz is probably the worst of the many locations in the area. When I'm in town, I drive the extra minutes to the Lindle Road location. I have the app and collect points for gas discounts so until Wawa penetrates the market further, I'll drive right past this location. When I am there, the place is dirty. The kitchen is staffed with at least one employee looking bored or on their phone. I've stopped ordering milkshakes and coffee here because, more than once, they needed to find someone who knew how to do that sort of thing. The drive-thru entrance is at the corner of a one-way ramp from the highway, forcing people to drive at the entrance in the opposite direction from vehicles doing 40+ preparing to enter the Sheetz Demolition Parking Lot. I stopped going because, more than once, the smell at the back of the store by the rest room and Beer Cave were so bad I couldn't stay. If I were blindfolded and walked into that location, I would have assumed I was walking into a dive bar at last call on a Friday night. And it was just about 5 on a weekday afternoon. Usually the register queue is quick and efficient and the best employees are found here. If I just need gas and don't have to go inside, that always seems to work. So that's something. read more

Minus one star for an unkempt store but have you had Sheetz coffee lately? The fresh ground and brewed coffee machines are simply amazing and make the best darn cup of coffee you've ever had at a gas station anywhere! Seriously awesome and I would gladly drive out of the way for one if needed. Got gas and some late night munchies last night and was completely satisfied with the 2 for $5 deal of a mini burger and cheese curds. Perfect size, great flavor and a bargain. Gas is expensive, but that's life in 2021. This store is super busy all the time between gas pumps, (free) air pump, and food inside. Be prepared to wait at peak times which seems to be all the time. Would not recommend stopping here. I ordered a strawberry lemonade smoothie and it came out as just a strawberry lemonade. Not a big deal, except the girl making the drinks was like, it didn't show that on my screen and continued to make other people's drinks and then walked away and never remade mine. I had ordered online to do a pick up at the drive up window. However, when I got there, cones were blocking the Drive thru, So I parked at the side. I called 3 times and let it ring. No one answered. I finally went inside. Here they said they had the phone in the back, so they couldn't get it. I was given that excuse Before. I think, what's the purpose of having a phone if you're not going to answer it. Especially so, if a customer is calling. The young lady at the pick up area (not wearing a gray shirt) was very rude. I had to remind her their window was closed, so it should have been considered a curb side! She commented, even so it was a pick from the drive thru, so they would not have brought it out??? Anyways, I wasn't happy with her attitude. I wasn't happy with the service. They always say they don't have enough help. I would not have got so upset if the rude girl would have kept her comments to herself. The most I can say for this Sheetz, on Paxton Street, is they need to answer the phone when a customer is calling. I go here about once per week due to it being close to my job. Today I made an online order. When I got there, it was busy and no employees were nearby. I needed to get back to work, so when I saw my food sitting on the rack right past their doors I went and got it. Then I was reprimanded by a young woman working there for going to get my food rather than asking. I politely told her I had places to be, no one was there, and I left. Next time I will go a few more miles to the other sheetz. read more

This Sheetz is always packed, I will agree. At first I thought it was quite the place to be on a Friday night ... crowded!!! But this being my first Sheetz, I was compensated by the onion rings and the MTO tuna melt that I love so much. They definitely took a while to get the order ready but as I am very vulture-like when sandwiches are MTO, I welcomed the opportunity for sandwich editing. I did go to the other Sheetz on Linglestown and guess I was spoiled by the 'hot food' abilities of the Paxton location. The coffees are okay although I always seems to make the wrong choices ... like the ultra sweet specialty cappucinos ... ugh ... not for the true coffee lover. Although I would have welcomed the extra whipped cream just because I love how disgruntled employees voice their satisfaction. hehe. read more

I can't speak for the other reviews. I know they had some bad experiences, here. But it's a convenience store. I think you have to keep that in mind when reviewing the place. Service will never be perfect nor will the selection of products. That said, some Sheetz are better than others. For example, there are some Sheetz south of here that are really great. There is a Sheetz in State College that would get a 4 star review as does the one in Lewistown. But this is not one of those stores. Service is average as is everything else. What is saving this one for dreaded two star land is the location. It is perfectly located. near the mall and several major routes. The gas pumps are good. I think the guy reviewing the pumps and bitching about the car wash prompt is talking about the Sheetz in Duncannon as their pump often ask 20,000 different questions. A bustling, big city mall deserves a super Sheetz - and that's the feeling you get inside of this Sheetz. It's one of the few Sheetz I've been to with such high ceilings, for its rather-recent renovations. Tons of drink stations, seats, and all the modern Sheetz conveniences that you could ask for, except perhaps a beer cave - but one may come in time (who knows). While there are rampant reports of bad service here, I've only been here once and can only speak about my own experience - which had as decent service as I could have expected. We are from the upper Midwest and have never had a Sheetz experience. We have seen billboards, were curious and decided to try it. At the very least we could fill our gas tank. So we clumsily fumbled through the touch screen ordering process. We waited, waited and finally got our food. The milkshakes were delicious but missing a couple accoutrements. The food was fair. It was fun to try something different. It would be good if you were mid road trip and need nourishment. Get your food and go! We would probably try it again. read more

I've come this sheetz often over the past two years. I'll bypass several other locations because I really like the over all quality of the made to order food : when I order chili dogs the chili and onions are fresh and my hot dogs are actually hot , not "lukewarm". I have finally had it with this Sheetz store. They have screwed up my orders one time too many. This place is under staffed and just plain not great. It seems they always take forever to get your food ready, or if they do get it to you in a timely manner, it is wrong. They are constantly messing up our orders. I have kept going there because they are the closest one that has fries. But i have finally had it. If they can't read the damn number on the slip tapped to the food and get things right, then they don't deserve my business. LOVE IT HERE!! I stop every morning before work for my coffee.....it's only $1.59+tax! Breakfast items are great too! And I' not just talking about the MTO's. They have parfaits, fruit, and even hardboiled eggs! Prices are $2.19 and UNDER!! Staff is awesome......never had an issue with a bad MTO. If you happen to go in and see a long line.......DONT FRET!! The line moves really fast even with only 2 cashiers! If this wasnt a great experience I wouldnt go every morning. I love it there! read more

this place is always packed and the store is understaffed so the line is always 4 or 5 people deep. The coffee bar items take FOREVER to make. The MTO food takes about 5-7 minutes though. Service isn't great- overworked and underpaid. The one older Indian guy at the register who used to be there always would unsolicitingly tell me he hated the owner's guts and laugh about it, then would proceed to add mounds upon mounds of whip cream on my coffee without asking just for payback to his boss. Amusing. I miss him. EDIT: if you do go, I recommend the Cuban Panini, it's actually really, really good. It's a convenient location for me (I work a few miles away), and although it's always crowded at lunchtime, it's relatively quick. As far as Sheetz places go, it's relatively large, with a more extensive MTO area. A pretty nice Sheetz overall. There are about 16 gas pumps outside and a large seating area where you can eat your made to order meal. This Sheetz also has a larger cooler area, with an assortment of drinks. The location is also convenient since the store is right off of route 83 and is right next to Bass Pro Shops. I'm usually a Sheetz fan, but the service at this store was terrible and it took over 10 minutes for a simple Turkey sub order. read more

I was in here tonight and an older gentleman was working behind the register he had a huge line and was the only one ringing people up.. I walk up to him and wanted to make a friendly conversation so I said u need some help back here... he said something but I couldn't really understand him... I was in there buying Gatorade for my daughter because she was sick and not that it's anyone's business but I'm going through a hard time financially so I get Foodstamps for my children's while I look for work... so I asked the older gentleman if they were hiring and he saw that I was using my Foodstamps and says very rude " of course we're always hiring but people just want to live off the government for free" as he was pointing to my food stamp card.... this made me feel so horrible about myself I usually don't allow ignorance to get to me like that but this really hurt... this place needs more workers and nicer ones as well read more

Sheetz Blows. They have the worst self service pumps in the business. They ask you questions on the touch screen...want to pay $15 for a car wash, want to redeem your discount (duh) and instead of a simple yes or no on the screen....or randomly hitting the buttons next to the screen...go try to find the "Yes" key in 8 point type on the GD keypad. Not the green key on the bottom...but the one on the upper right, that has been rubbed out from getting pressed so often. Wawa on steroids. That was all I could think of when I was here. I stopped in on my way to State College for a bathroom break and some coffee. It's busy. It's not the cleanest place either, but it does the job. Their coffee operation is insane. I'm not quite sure how I felt about pressing buttons for creamer and sugar. That station wasn't even next to where you get the coffee from either, so I was slightly confused for a second. I said out loud, "WHAT IS THIS SOURCERY?" Hah. Coffee wasn't bad though. When I come to areas that have a Sheetz I get super excited. I LOVE Sheetz, I wish there was one in Philly. The food options are endless and the food is not that bad. Pretty damn good if you ask me. I live in Philly where it's land of the Wawa's. If I had to choose between Wawa and Sheetz.......it's Sheetz hands down. They have a larger food selection (much larger) and the store has everything you need. My only complaint is they are SLOW! I know I live in a city where we want and expect everything to be snap snap quick quick but I do have some patience. To wait for your food at this Sheetz I needed a TON of patience....OMG move it. You gotta be somewhat quicker then a snail. Overall, love the food and menu but staff needs to put some pep in their step. read more

I love Sheetz for their selection of products, generally clean restrooms, and for the Sheetz card gas discount. The staff running the checkout registers at this store seem to be really slow though. I came in and ordered a meatball sub and there was 4 other people in front of me and it literally took 30 minutes to get my food. By far, the slowest sheetz ive ever been to in my life. Everyone was moving like turtles and wrapping food up at the slowest pace ever. I just witnessed the store manager at the Allentown BLVD store in Harrisburg chase 4 Penn State Students who were collecting for THON (very rudely I might add).
