An extra star for the employees who are fighting against impossible odds to do a good job…read more Stuck in an odd location with a parking lot that invites road rage and automotive combat, this Sheetz is probably the worst of the many locations in the area. When I'm in town, I drive the extra minutes to the Lindle Road location. I have the app and collect points for gas discounts so until Wawa penetrates the market further, I'll drive right past this location. When I am there, the place is dirty. The kitchen is staffed with at least one employee looking bored or on their phone. I've stopped ordering milkshakes and coffee here because, more than once, they needed to find someone who knew how to do that sort of thing. The drive-thru entrance is at the corner of a one-way ramp from the highway, forcing people to drive at the entrance in the opposite direction from vehicles doing 40+ preparing to enter the Sheetz Demolition Parking Lot. I stopped going because, more than once, the smell at the back of the store by the rest room and Beer Cave were so bad I couldn't stay. If I were blindfolded and walked into that location, I would have assumed I was walking into a dive bar at last call on a Friday night. And it was just about 5 on a weekday afternoon. Usually the register queue is quick and efficient and the best employees are found here. If I just need gas and don't have to go inside, that always seems to work. So that's something.

Sheetz has quite the following. Locations can be found all across Pennsylvania. We stopped at this…read moreone late one evening when we were in need of some food. Ordering is an easy process - you just use a little kiosk. Then you take your receipt to the cashier and pay. And then you wait. The menu is plentiful and you can make all kinds of customizations. And the prices are reasonable. It was super busy when we were here, so we did have to wait awhile. But it was worth it. It was really tasty food.

I have kept my initial review but put it after this edit. I was falsely accused of theft at a place…read moremy family and friends enjoyed going to. We would get gas, food and drinks. Yet, after this place reported me to the police for theft that all changed. I have never once committed a crime. In fact I am usually the person who turns in people who steal. Even when my kids were young and they would take something I would take them back to return the item and apologize. Their lies have caused me severe anxiety and stress regardless of knowing I am innocent. My husband has stopped giving this place any money. We now will drive up to half an hour to get what we normally get at this place at another place. I have also had my friends who know my character also have ceased spending money at this place. Liars work here. Run away as fast as possible. "I have been living in PA for just a little over 3 yrs. I have absolutely no criminal record and have never stolen a thing in my whole life. I hate people who steal. Yet, this store has accused me of stealing a drink from them. They have never once approached me. I will do everything to prove I have never stolen a thing. I will then sue in court for lying about me committing a crime. This won't be swept under the rug. I promise I will prove my innocence and hold accountable those who have lied about me. Hope you are ready for the fight of your life. I will ensure that everyone who knows me stops coming to your location and giving you money after the lies."

He stares and smiles without saying anything. If you talk to him, it is the same reaction, a mindless stare and a smile indicating a callous disregard for feelings . Thanks but no thanks. That brings into question mental stability, and lack of mental stability can be very dangerous when people are in charge of handling food. In this case the better part of valor is to evade. IMHO

This is a small, what appears to be family-owned, convenience/grocery store in downtown Harrisburg…read more I found it using Google Maps during my first hunt for places within walking distance where I could get some groceries. This place had more of a selection than I expected for such a small store. You can get your basic, no-frills pantry staples like bread, milk, canned goods, pasta, boxed sides (mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, etc), cookies, baking mixes/frosting, frozen food, and bacon, along with cleaning products like laundry detergent, toilet paper, and bug killing products. And of course, they had your regular convenience store items like soda/drinks, chips, and the lottery. The lottery seemed to be a big draw-everyone but me was there to play the lottery. The folks working there chatted with the patrons who you could tell must come in on a regular basis. However, I didn't get so much as a hello. The woman who rang me up didn't even tell me my total or how much change I was getting back. I'll come back mainly because this store is a 2 minute walk from my apartment. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that hopefully I'll get at least a "hi" next time.

One the front line in the territorial war between Sheetz and Wawa, this location is ideally located…read morefor folks headed toward the airport, Lancaster, or the Turnpike. While the parking lot is a typical example of Sheetz' infatuation with sadistic BF Skinner fantasies, this location is generally run well. The staff is friendly and makes eye contact. They respond to lines building up at the checkout. The kitchen is usually moving quickly and the orders are kicked out promptly. The store is generally clean, including the bathrooms which - while not pristine - are rarely nightmare levels of filth you'd see along the highway. It's easy to frind grab-and-go items and there are a lot of pre-wrapped food items to choose from if you just need to gas up and go. This location will get you through the queue quickly. The Beer Cave is often crowded and cramped with product that can't be stocked from the palate, making it hard to get to stock in the back. My main issue with Sheetz is more about the brand. What used to be a go-to spot for decent food has become more of an expensive roller-grill with the kind of subs that you can get wrapped out of a gas station cooler. As Wawa shows up in Central PA, there is a clear difference in quality for about the same price on similar items. When flying in or out of Harrisburg, I'll order lunch from Wawa even if the price of gas is much higher there, just so I don't have to settle for airport fare. But on Lindle Road, I know I'll get quality service so I don't have to make an extra food stop in the neighborhood if I need to keep moving. While Sheetz is obsessive about its branding, that WOW feeling is no longer matched by the kind of radical culinary offerings and quality that made it more than "gas station cuisine" and as someone who discovered this place long ago at IUP during an overnight pub crawl in the late 90s, it's come a long way but in the wrong direction.

For what it's worth both Wawa and Sheetz do not do breakfast well but in a pinch on the road they both do the trick. The stores operate in a similar way with touchscreen ordering, pay at the register and pick up your food and/or drinks. The waiting time was not long at Sheetz and I love that they display the status of the orders on a screen with estimated wait time.
