I was very nervous due to my age, a combination of health issues, fear of tooth extraction, and potential complications. However, when the doctor walked in, his calm and confident manner instantly put all my doubts to rest. He explained everything clearly and answered all of my questions. He has wonderful bedside manners and showed complete understanding of my condition. He administered the anesthesia practically painlessly, and I didn't feel the extraction at all. Afterward, there was almost no bleeding or swelling, and I didn't even need to take any painkillers .The amazing doctor! Good luck ,Doctor. One star is being too nice. I came to pick up a relative after a tooth extraction and had a terrible experience with the older woman at the front desk with short black hair. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. She made me repeat myself multiple times about why I was there. She then told the patient he had to pay a copay. The patient explained that he had already paid his copay earlier. Instead of checking the account properly, she began yelling at both of us saying we needed to pay immediately. She printed a bill and claimed it was a copay, when in reality it was the remaining balance that the patient's insurance did not cover. If she had done her job correctly, she would have known the difference. I asked if they could simply bill the patient for the remaining balance. She refused and started shouting that we were "poor" and that we couldn't afford to pay. She continued yelling this in front of other patients in the waiting area, which was humiliating and completely inappropriate. At one point she was acting as if she would not let us leave until we paid, which felt extremely uncomfortable. When I said we would call the police if she tried to hold us there, she began cursing at us in Russian. She even tried to snatch the bill out of my hands, as if she didn't want me to have proof of what she printed. I have never experienced such aggressive and unprofessional behavior from a medical office staff member. I am not even a patient at this office and was treated horribly just for picking someone up. I came here to get wisdom teeth removed (which have now recovered & healed perfectly). I have no idea why people left poor reviews, I had a WONDERFUL experience here. Coming from a medical family, I have really high standards for cleanliness & professionalism, and my expectations were exceeded. I had Dr Bradley Romsa who was amazing & patient with all my concerns and made me feel as a patient very safe. If you go here I highly recommend requesting him. The front desk (which normally in my past experience can be not the best) was even incredibly kind and called me if there were appointment openings if I wanted to come in sooner. All staff were kind and patient. Even the bathroom was very clean! I have been recommending my entire family to go here if they ever need any of these oral procedures done for them. Office experience was easy when I called to schedule an appointment. The receptionist on the phone was polite and the front desk staff at my arrival was also kind. There was a small wait but that's expected in most offices nowadays however that just means they're not rushing the patients, the procedures, and the post care. I had main questions and the Doctor made me feel comfortable and never once made me feel like I was taking too much of his time. My doctor was Dr. Romsa who is a very talented surgeon with an affable demeanor. He was my wife's surgeon as well. He gets 5 stars. Unfortunately, if you have CIGNA or any type of dental insurance, the billings staff seems to not understand the difference between out of network and in network. In network means that the office agrees to a contracted/discounted rate and the insurance company has them as an in network provider. Statistics show most people will not go out of network, same as in healthcare. Unfortunately, what the biller does is take what insurance pays based on contract, and then they bother the customer saying that the customer owes the difference. They want their set price regardless. Legally if they want that they need to be out of network, not in network. That means they use the insurance company to fetch them new patients but they don't want to honor their contract. If they don't like contract, renegotiate or quit, but don't bill patients. There is no advantage to go in network with this provider if that is the case. Makes sense to go to an in network provider. Discussions with the billing department goes no where. They insist they know everything, even when I show them documents. Even CIGNA says they are wrong. What kind of office sends bills when no bill is owed? There is no legal recourse on there part to take, but CIGNA can for contract violations. But I do think the dentist is great. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. Do not waste your time thinking about coming here. First of all, they are money hungry. The DAY BEFORE my scheduled wisdom teeth removal, they called me claiming my insurance only covers the top two not the bottom two and that the bottom two would be $750 each tooth. The oral surgeon deemed it medically necessary because I experience a lot of pain. So I had to call the insurance company to figure out what was the problem. Turns out they inputted the wrong code to my insurance company that's why they denied it. So my insurance company called them and they claimed the reason why is because they would only be only partially removing the teeth that's why they inputted that code. i'm sorry what? I have never heard of such a thing. When you get your wisdom teeth out, they remove the whole tooth, that is common knowledge. They straight up lied to my insurance company. So now I have to cancel my appointment the day before when I already took multiple days off of work and already started to prep for the surgery. So rude and unprofessional. To make matters worse, the women answering the phones are always so rude. They greet people on the phones by saying "Hello" instead of "Oral surgery how can I help you". I had to make sure I had the right number because I was shocked how she answered. When they first called me informing me about the problem with my insurance, she didn't even give me a chance to think before she said "if you are not willing to pay for the bottom teeth, I'm going to have to cancel your appointment." This was the weirdest experience. The doctor I saw seemed decent and knew what he was talking about. The office staff was anything but. All the had to do was get approval for the work. That was in September 2023. The day before my surgery they called to confirm. I asked if they received approval and was told no. I asked what the plan was and they said i am going to be paying out of pocket since the approval hasn't happened. Glad I asked. I canceled the appointment and proceeded to wait. I checked in with them regularly but at a certain point just gave up and went someplace else. The work has been done, and I have yet to hear from this place. Do not waste your time. Dr. Romsa easily deserves 5 stars. I was super nervous and scared about getting my Wisdom Teeth out, but from the first day I came into the office he completely erased any doubts I had. Answered any and all questions I had very clearly, and new exactly what he was talking about. They're rude to each other and to patients. It also seems like they lack communication with the doctors. I just left the office without getting my xray, which I spoke about with the doctor over the phone 2 days ago and I called the office a little over an hour ago to confirm that it would be ok to stop by today. The doctor wasn't in the office, which he told me 2 days ago that he wouldn't be, and the staff had no knowledge regarding what kind of xray I needed to get done. I'm not at all a confrontational person and am very polite and professional but they made me feel like I was causing a scene. Then they tried to appease me with some random xrays which I reused because I'd rather not have that extra radiation. If you have plenty of time to sit around and wait, because wait you will even if you have an appointment or scheduled surgery, then this office is ok. I have an appointment in Manhattan in an hour so I had to leave. I think I'll be looking into a diffferent oral surgeon to fix my issue. read more

They are exceptionally unpleasant, often doen't answer the phone, and are aggressively, relentlessly hostile in responding to inquiries and concerns. They witheld for 6 months a large reimbursement due me by the insurance company, even through they agree they owe the money. They hung up when I pressed them for the reimbursement. Procedure was fine & quick. Dental surgeon was ok despite an off handed comment about my weight I had to laugh off cause like Wth. Got my wisdom tooth extracted, was quoted 450, but was told it's actually 650 which is fine, like I needed it out & it was still a good price, but I wasn't given any ice for the swelling & I'm a bit confused by that. I had gotten extra gauze but why not an ice pack? He even said they were going to give me ice! I was there for a few minutes after to pay, sign the receipt & wait for my cab. They didn't give me any forms to send to my insurance for reimbursement, nothing for like my anxiety just telling me to breathe & Also they gave me a fever reducer (Tylenol) instead of an actual pain killer like naproxen, (tho I do have and allergy to to some). Literally that night I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep. I took 6 of the 20 Tylenol they gave me & still pain. The next day throbbing. Now it's 2 days later & im still in some pain but now I'm getting weird aches on my top tooth like it was hit or something. Tbh the removal was great. But the care was not so great. Like i felt like they couldn't be bothered. They comment about my body, the lack of ice & the Tylenol for an impacted wisdom tooth like just felt like a joke. Hopefully never again read more

I had an amazing experience today having my wisdom tooth removed! Yes you read that right. I am such a chicken when it comes to dental procedures done. I shake in the chair, i get soooo anxious and scared I loooooathe going to dental office. My expectations were, get to the office, spend some time waiting online, then get ready for the surgery (i thought it was) get general anesthesia done, go to sleep and wake up not knowing what was done. Talk funny before anesthesia wears off... have my husband pick me up because I wont be able to drive... bla bla.... I cannot rave enough how awesome Dr. Boris Gefon and his team were today! I was in and out in less than 30 minutes?! Today is a Sunday, my appointment was at 3:30.. I arrived 5-6 minutes late and İ was the only one there. Even though i areived late, they were still so sweet to me! I told the nurse i was super scared about the procedure and about the pain afterwards... she said i can give you pain killers now if you want, i said yes please, and she gave my tylenol AND ibuprofen so im good until i get ready for bed. The doctor/surgeon was suuuper polite and, soo nice and caring, funny too!! He told me exactly what he is about to apply/do and what Ill be feeling when he does. The only uncomfortable part was when he gave me a shot on the roof of my mouth it was a slight discomfort not even pain!!!! He gave me a few more injections in the gums - i did not even feel them, he is that good! The removal must have taken about 40 second and he said - "done, go home" İ said "are you serious?!" Wow, i had a feeling that removing the wisdom tooth is a long and tedious and painful and uncomfortable process (or maybe it is) but i was so impressed with the way Dr. Gefon and his team treated me İ will be reccommending them to everyone i know! The five star review is for Dr. Dmitriy Tokar DDS only. This place has exceptional oral surgeons, however the stuff at the front desk are rather rude. I came here to remove an excess of gum area on the top of my wisdom tooth, I also had a referral for this place. I was in the waiting area for 2 1/2 hours, there were many people in the waiting area, and some of the people had to stay standing up as there wasn't enough chairs in the room. Dr. Tokar listen to my concerns and recommended the best treatment, he also showed me few educational videos about the extraction procedure. Unlike the other oral surgeon from the other clinic, he offered me several options on the treatment of my tooth. Under local anesthesia he completed the procedure 10 minutes. He was also very helpful in the billing process for the insurance company, as the preferred procedure was not the usual extraction. Later on same day around 9 PM in the evening Dr. Tokar gave me a follow up phone call, he went over post treatments and what should be expected in the next few days. I would recommend this doctor for any oral surgeries as he's very professional and experienced, and really does care about the well-being of his patients teeth. Prepare to wait from 2 to 3 hours if you go there, even if you have an appointment. read more

The employee with terrible manners wouldn't even give me a chance to state the nature of my call before rudely hanging up the phone. I immediately called back and this time she decided to hang the phone up right away without even greeting. My 3rd time calling was answered by a different receptionist. She assisted me in scheduling my appointment but even she seemed disinterested. She wouldn't give me the name of the previous employee that answered the phone so I'm unable to file a compliant on the individual. My husband went there too, and he never had so bad experience before. They don't have even time to say you Hi, after shot at home he found that his crown was broken. Came in for a consultation, ended up getting all 4 wisdom teeth pulled in one sitting. It took about 5-7 min, and I was out the door with 2 prescriptions (antibiotics to heal, and ibuprofen for pain). They did not tell me what I had to do when I came home and treated it like a regular dental visit and not a serious surgery. I had to google if I should apply heat/cold and what I should do to reduce swelling. To sum up, procedure was quick and painless, almost no pain afterwards, only drank 1 ibuprofen. Cheeks swelled for a week, (probably because I wasn't notified of what to apply to my face to lower the swelling) but everything healed nicely. I came in without an appointment and an emergency referral to get my wisdom tooth extracted. It was about 6pm and the very kind staff accepted me right away, and after filling out a few forms it was off to get an x-ray and then 5 minutes later into the procedure room. I had Dr. Allen Glied perform the extraction, and there was a very nice woman assisting him. Both made me feel very very comfortable, relaxed, and most importantly, confident in them. I was in and out in an hour, the extraction was painless, I had no swelling and left with a smile. I know I will need more extractions and I will not want to go anywhere other than here. I went in for a tooth extraction two weeks ago. Dr. Glied pulled the tooth with a minimum of difficulty, but it was immediately afterward that the problems started. He didn't stitch up the socket, and he didn't prescribe antibiotics. I now have an infection that my dentist is treating with the antibiotics that should have been prescribed in the first place.
