Get there asked if I wanted blowout said no as blowdry blowout not the same thought it was extra. Gina because not the owner started cutting dry no shampoo and my$35 promo for wash cut blowdry and hand wax for $35 was $33 for dry cut nothing else. They added $3 for using c card which Jen said no big deal only $3. Again no fault of Gina as Jen is the owner and did what Jen booked the appointment as. Then Jen started backpedaling about what happened when I posted on her Facebook page making excuses. Tried to make it right by offering blowout but by this time too many negatives !!! Uncomfortable to go back. Bait and switch maybe who knows but I'm done here why would I do dry cut for $33 and NOT do promo wash Cut blowdry and hand parafin wax for $35. Why. Disregard the anonymous poster and her fake comments. Anyone that posts anonymously behaving as a keyboard warrior should be discredited. Especially when they make negative comments on multiple businesses. I've been going to Jenn at Shear Temptations for several years. She does a fantastic job and the shop is meticulous and welcoming. The fake negative reviews are just that....fake! I have been going here with my elderly mother for years. I have never once had a bad experience in any way, shape or form. Jen is a really great person and a great stylist. If you look at the profiles of the negative reviews you will see they are habitual negative posters and bash numerous local businesses...more than likely they are all the same person (troll). So don't pay them the attention they crave....they are fake! I just had my hair cut for Christmas ( Jen squeezed me and my mother in on a Sunday!). The owner of this salon is a nut job! Jennifer the owner cut my hair! Went in for a simple cut, wasn't looking for anything drastic... She doesn't listen when you try to explain something. All she talks about is how amazing she is! She isn't all that! She bullies the girl Keira I think her name was... who works there to agree with how wonderful she is... I have been seeing Jenn for years, on a weekly basis. I live so far from here, but the long drive is really worth it. Jenn is the most talented blowout and hair extraordinaire I have ever come across in my life, I promise you. She is so busy for a reason. It is hard to get an appointment because she is that good. I'm giving 2 stars because the haircut was actually good but everything else was terrible. I went in and wasn't greeted by anyone. I just stood around and mentioned I have an appointment and a woman said she was cutting my hair. She didn't introduce herself and did not make conversation when washing my hair. Before my cut she asked what I wanted. I asked her if my hair had split ends and should be cut a certain length and she responded with you can do whatever you want. Her tone was so short, rude and not helpful. I told her what I usually get and wanted some face framing and she said what I get is not face framing and called it something else. Right; I am getting a haircut because I am not a hair stylist and don't know proper terms but thanks for correcting me in the most rude way ever. I tried giving her a compliment and she was flippant and didn't take it. I stopped trying afterwards because she was so harsh and not interested. Don't understand how someone who works with people could be so nasty and ill mannered. If you want a decent haircut with a side of insolence this is the place for you! read more

Jen is great! She'll be honest with you and let you know what will truly work for your hair. She also is honest in regard to products for your hair and gives you reasonably priced options. DO NOT buy a Groupon from here. I'm presuming the owner is the lady who answered the phone... SO rude, impatient, and nasty. I called to make an appointment and she had a lot of unnecessary attitude and was very short with me. If you don't want new customers then don't do Groupons; it's that easy. Nastiest phone call ever and I hung up because she simply had no time for new clients even though I was booking more than 2 months in advance. Please save your time and money and go somewhere else. I wish I looked at their Yelp reviews before buying (pretty sure the Groupon reviews are fake because the Yelp reviews are so bad). I found this salon because of a Groupon. I am more than satisfied by the customer service and hairstyling by Jen. She goes out of her way to work around my busy schedule and always makes my hair look best for every event. Very reasonable prices and a pleasantly well kept space. Bought a Groupon and was expecting Jen to do it as when I called she said she's the owner and works alone. Get there and this high school aged girl said she'd wash my hair, okay fine. But then I sit in the chair and this kid does the worst blowout I've ever gotten. Too much product in my hair it was greasy and crunchy from what she put it in. Unlicensed and inexperienced. I had to go home, wash it and style myself. Terrible experience. Never going back. read more

Similar to the reviews written before me, the woman who answers the phone is EXTREMELY rude. I don't know what happened in her life to make her so miserable but asking a simple question on what days she has available to schedule a haircut was unacceptable to her. She was so quick to tell me that she just got married a week ago and everyone is booking her until mid-October. Which is fine, I would have scheduled after mid-October, however she was not the least bit pleasant and it was a chore to talk to a potential new customer on the phone. I've decided to cash in my groupon by buying hair product at her salon instead of getting her haircut. I would not recommend this place or this woman. I complained about a haircut and the owner proceeded to tell me that it was cut exactly how I wanted....I asked for a trim with an inch off (trying to grow out my hair!) and the lady cut off like five! first time I went to Shear Temptation with a deal from Groupon for one blow out. Then later, I purchased another Groupon deal that offered 3 blowouts. When I called to schedule the 3 blowouts, the woman who answered sounded annoyed and rude, and wasn't really keen on taking down my details. So I asked if that was the owner, and she answered yes. Then I identified myself hoping that she would talk to me nicely; but then she said that I cannot use the Groupon deal because I already used one before. I explained to her they were two different deals, one was for 1 blowout and that this one is for 3 blowouts. But she kept saying that I cannot use the Groupon deal and asked me to get my money back that she would honor the same offer if I pay the salon directly; excluding Groupon. So I believed her and agreed; but asked and expected her to keep her word on that, to which she agreed. But when I went there to get my 1st blowout out of the 3, she has disappeared, probably because it was never her intention to honor it. The owner advertises on Groupon only to get publicity, and clientele so she can up-sell but has no intention of honoring the Groupon deals. read more

I had one of the best haircuts of my life at this salon! I brought in a few different pictures of the cut that I wanted and asked her if she could adapt it for me - I wanted something low-maintenance that would look good even if I didn't do much with it. And that's exactly what I got. I can wash and let it air dry and it still looks great. I will definitely be going back the next time I need a trim. read more
