Yelp does it again! I wanted a set of quality knives, so I ordered a set of Henkels from Macy's. They ended up having one side serrated and it was causing me to shred instead of slice. I initially looked up Knife Sharpening to see if someone could get rid of all the serration. Matt educated me on the conditions of the knives and told me that all he needed to do was sharpen them and smooth out burrs. I gave him 4 knives + scissors and he was done in about 20min! This was the first time getting my knives sharpened by a professional. Before I always used a whet stone, but honestly i have no clue what I'm doing, and I no longer wanted to invest in this hobby, and found Matthew. Matthew was extremely friendly, knowledge, and quick! He has his knife sharpening station, and does it on a belt, so it's real quick. He using a magnifying glass to inspect his work, and make sure the burr is straight. He actually checked, and this was great to see. He is really cheap, at least for me. I only had two 6 in chef's knife, and it's $1 an inch, so it came out to $12, that i sent via venmo. Matt does amazing work. Decades ago my dad broke the tip off of his World War II fighting knife. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for shooting down a German fighter from a B-24 Ball-Turret. He died 50 years ago when I was 12, and obviously the knife means a lot to me.
