I had an AMAZING time at Shear Intensity today. Olivia is the absolute best, I was in between what I wanted done with my hair and she took the time to discuss options and how things would look! I'm beyond impressed and so happy with my hair. It feels and looks incredible. The atmosphere is kind, chill, good music and Kathy is such a sweetheart! Fabulous salon which I highly recommend! We were in the area from out of state for a wedding and I was so fortunate to have found this salon. The Yelp reviews were spot on. Kathy, the owner, did an amazing job on my Mother's hair and she received so many compliments on it. Kathy and the team were so nice and genuine. I had booked a wash and blow dry but Kathy found my mom's hair needed to be reshaped as well and squeezed that in for us. I wish we lived in the area so we would be regulars. Thank you Kathy and team! read more

Had my very first appointment with Jenna today and I'm so happy!! Jenna made me feel so comfortable, talking me through every step of my haircut. I went in with shoulder length hair and came out with a longer pixie! My friends all love it as much as I do! The price topped it off; thought a beautiful salon with such a talented stylist would cost a fortune and the final cost was incredibly reasonable. I love going to Shear Intensity. It's SOOOO much nicer than my previous hair salon and the staff are great! Everyone is personable, enjoy sharing a joke and treat you like family. They always have munchies and wine - what's not to love about that? As for the services, I'm very pleased with my hairdresser and pedicure person. They listen to what I'm looking for and make suggestions accordingly. I can't recommend them highly enough! read more

Love Jamie! She is an amazing colorist and hair stylist. I'm so glad I found her when I moved up here from Long Island as the options around here are so limited. They do really need to give her, her own space considering she brings in so much business and is amazing at what she does! This comes from someone who is SUPER particular and has extremely high expectations. They always offer coffee and light snacks which is nice. The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because sometimes it does get REALLY noisy and while I understand a hair salon isn't the most professional place, some of the people who work there should be mindful of the things coming out of their mouth. Not a good look. read more

This is my favorite salon by far. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and talented. The baked goods and fresh coffee are a nice touch. I love Aimee, she always does an awesome job. She is the best stylist and I get the most compliments after I see her. Shear Intensity is conveniently located right on 9w and the cafe across the street is awesome. Getting my hair done at Shear Intensity is one of my favorite ways to treat myself. read more

As a woman who has endured hair cut fiascos, Shear Intensity has been such a relief. Jamie is absolutely exceptional at what she does, and her confidence & enjoyment of doing what she loves shines through the minute you walk through the front door. The whole staff is warm, kind and welcoming; the ambiance is comfortable, clean and modern. Great experience. Received keratin treatment and Jill fixed haircut that was done at previous salon. Great experience and would recommend this salon to anyone I know. Went in feeling terrible about my hair since botched at previous salon and walked out feeling so good. Couldn't ask for a better experience! read more

This place is amazing! I went on a whim because I got a few hours away from my kids and they fit me right in. I was able to get my toes done. They served me wine and cheese and great conversation. When I was done I still had some time and they fit me in for a haircut as well. These women were very lovely and it made my day off from the kids wonderful. Defiantly my new salon. read more

Love this place! Jamie is the best! Found her about a year & a half ago & I am SO glad I did. I was always afraid to dye my hair or try new styles but I'm not anymore because I know whatever I choose to do Jamie will make it look amazing. I always recommend this place to my friends & family because they are just over all awesome. Great service, & the owner Kathy is super nice too! My mom also had her hair done there by Amy and she did an awesome job! Not to mention prices are beyond fair for the amazing service you receive. I always look forward to my visits there & I always leave super happy! If I could give more than 5 stars I def would! read more

The manager, Jin ( Julie) was so pleasant and secured a spot for my daughter and I. When I arrived, I sprung a monkeywrench because I decided to not just get a regular Manny Petty, but to add acrylic/gel nails. She did not make me feel bad about the major change. Instead, she was so accommodating and worked it into the schedule. Since it was a Monday, this was probably a factor that enabled us to make such a big change, but I was really pleased nonetheless I had the lavender pedicure which included lots of rubs and scrubs. Definitely needed that! $40. My hands were completely metamorphosis with the excellent manicure and gel nails Everything about it was spot on. I would highly recommend this salon and plan to return again. Worth the trip from the Town Of Poughkeepsie to Route 52 Fishkill/Main Street. LOVE NAILS is located next-door to Gold's gym at the far end of the plaza that houses My Favorite bagel shop, Fishkill bagels.

I'd originally wanted a finish that was $5 extra, but instead of just taking the upcharge, Sunny asked thoughtful questions like, "Is this for a special occasion?" and "When is that?" She explained the desired finish wouldn't last long enough for the wedding I'm attending and, since I use a lot of lotion in my skincare routine, wouldn't look how I wanted. She recommended the standard finish instead. That is amazing customer service and truly looking out for me, not just an upsell. My nails are a perfect 10/10: even, beautifully shaped, and with neatly trimmed cuticles. You can see from my photo how lovely they look. A true gem in our small town. Thank you, Sunny!

Shear Intensity is more then just a place to get an excellant hair cut or color, it's a warm, fun, welcoming place that you look forward to visiting. The stylists are all extremely skillful, and unfailingly pleasant. The salon is beautiful and immaculately clean. You can look forward to great snacks and beverages, invariably homemade baked goods, served in a comfortable, homey atmosphere. As most of us women know, going to the hair salon can be a significant time commitment so it's really nice when you can really enjoy the time you spend there. I have gotten to know many of the other "regulars" so it's like catching up with friends. Make no mistake, if my hair didn't look fabulous everytime I left there no amount of atmosphere would keep me going back but given that I get compliments on my hair almost daily, I'll take the whole package, thank you very much! Do yourself a favor and as the salon motto says, " relax, laugh, get beautiful". read more

Coming to this salon was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Long story short, I decided to box dye my medium blonde hair platinum blonde at home and completely damaged my hair. My roots were literally three different colors. They were white around my face, bright yellow on top of my head, and dark blonde (the natural color of my roots). Also, there was random patches of bleach all over my head ( the picture doesn't even do justice lol). It was a disaster but thankfully Kathy, the owner saved me! She transformed my hair completely and my hair couldn't have come out better. My experience at Shear Intensity was amazing and Kathy truly knows how to take care of her customers and how to run a business. I cannot thank her enough. I highly recommend this salon because the staff, service, and environment is phenomenal! read more

I have been going to shear intensity for 3 years now and I have never left disappointed once. The owner Kathy is such a wonderful woman who truly prides herself in making her clients feel their absolute best. The atmosphere of the salon is always welcoming as the staff are all beyond kind and it is very clean and well kept. I always get my hair done by jamie (@hairbyjamiebo0) on instagram and she is the REAL deal. I always get compliments on my hair since I have been going to her. She always puts her full effort into doing my hair and it always looks amazing. I could never say enough about her, the proof is in the pudding!!! By far my best salon experience ever! The moment I walked in, I felt like a treasured guest. Kathy took great care and gave me the color I've been dreaming about. She listened when I spoke about my hair complaints and crafted THE perfect cut for MY face and lifestyle. For the first time in my life, I left a salon after a haircut without feeling like I needed to go home and restyle it - I felt confident and beautiful. Kathy and the staff at Shear Intensity do an excellent job! They not only take care of all your beauty needs - hair, mani/pedi, makeup - they also make you feel like part of the family. There is always something to snack on, a hot pot of coffee and water for the non-coffee drinkers. They will listen and work with you to achieve whatever style you want.
