I wish there was one less star I could give. I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism than I have with Campbell and Campbell. I made an appointment almost a week ago to have my hair done the following weekend. At 7 o'clock on Labor Day night I get a text from the owner saying that they have to cancel my appointment because they now have a wedding that day. Although he did offer me a 9 AM appointment to get my hair done for my evening event, he left no other choices for me. I'm sorry but being a mother of two, who found it difficult enough to make the time to be able to schedule the appointment to begin with, there's no way my hair is looking good by the time my event if I get it done at 9 AM. On another note, it was extremely difficult to make an appointment at the salon considering no one answers the phone or returns messages. You'll just get a text a couple of days later confirming your appointment. In hindsight, I should've never trusted this. Unfortunately, I never got to walk into Campbell and Campbell salon due to the fact that my appointment was canceled via text. I can't attest for their work, only their poor customer service. They way they treated me is not true to what Beacon is all about. read more

Do not use this salon for your wedding. 1) they were late - I had said multiple times in email leading up to the day and on the day of that we all needed to be ready by 4:15 and Stephanie assured me this would be no problem. We had about 4.5 hours to get 9 ladies ready so we agreed to have 2 stylists there for the duration, which Stephanie said would be more than enough time. Then, her husband/partner showed up 1.5 hours late so for the first 1.5 hours we only had 1 stylist working. I expressed concern and triple checked that she was planning to have us all done by 4:15. I wanted to trust her as a professional, but by 4:30 they were still working on the last ladies. We had to rush through the last lady and putting my veil on to get done by 4:45. This cut into 30 minutes of my pictures and caused anxiety for me and my bridesmaids. 2) because at that point we were running 30 minutes late, and just had 30 minutes left before the ceremony was set to start, I did not have time to deal with payment in cash for all of the services right then as she required. She had my credit card on file already and had already charged me a deposit. So I simply said, I would pay her the cash tomorrow, or if she wanted to charge my credit card in the meantime she could. It was just not the time to start counting out and dealing with $1000 of cash - we needed to get out the door to keep the rest of the evening on track. Instead of taking any responsibility for being late and having any consideration for keeping this big day positive and happy, they denied being late and scoffed at the idea of receiving the cash the next day. My bridesmaids and photographers shuffled me out the door anyway. 3) while I was at my wedding brunch the next morning, I started receiving calls and texts from her demanding her money now and telling me that I was being selfish for not having already paid. Again, no consideration for the fact that it was the morning after my wedding and I still had all of my family and friends at a brunch that I was not going to leave to pay her. I told her I would be there around noon and even offered to meet her elsewhere later that afternoon if more convenient. 4) when my mom and I went to drop off the cash around noon the next day they had the audacity to charge a $100 "late" fee because we did not pay the day before and were incredibly rude. We paid it because we were just done with letting their negative energy deep into our happy weekend, it was ridiculous. In a nutshell, The owner and her husband just do not have the attitude that you will want to be around and work with on such a special day. Of all the vendors we worked with for our wedding, everyone else was gracious and wanted to make our wedding easy - the one dark mark on the weekend was my experience with this salon. Everything from demanding to be paid in cash in the first place, to their lateness, to their rude text messages are just not things you want to deal with on your wedding. read more

Had a great experience today with Anthony cutting my 14 year old son's hair. Anthony took his time and my son's hair came out looking hip from looking very boyish. Anthony is fascinating to talk with too. He has been a hair stylist for many musicians including Keith Richard's my favorite! I love this place. I love this place!!! The decorations are so cute and everything about this salon is just so chic. Both Anthony and Stephanie are very down to earth and always accommodate my schedule. I'll admit it -- I'm in love with this salon. The salon itself is super-cute, with painted tin walls, framed prints, and lots of fun vintage accent pieces, and Stephanie is really wonderful at what she does. I'd particularly recommend her for anyone with curly hair -- a lot of stylists have a hard time woking with my hair's thick, curly, and yet somehow lifeless texture, but she really knows what she's doing and ended up giving me an extremely flattering, face-framing cut that doesn't make me look like a middle-aged woman wearing a wig. She's also lovely to talk to and has good taste in music, which is always a plus. read more

I recently got my hair cut by Stephanie after initially contacting her to inquire about a consultation (which are free) since I was a bit tired of my current style and wanted a bit of a change. I have fine hair that gets weighed down if I try to grow it out, but at the same time I don't want a short cut. During the consultation, she listened to my concerns and suggested some changes that I immediately felt comfortable with and followed up by scheduling an appointment for the following week. When it came time for my appointment, Stephanie confirmed what we talked about during my consultation the week prior and we were off to the races. She is meticulous with her technique and I was very pleased with the end result. It was a subtle change that made a huge difference in how my hair (and I) felt afterward. As the previous reviewer has noted, Stephanie is very pleasant to talk to and very cheerful! Plus, the salon is super cute and chic!
