Great cut, fun talking, nothing pretentious! Why to I avoid the pretentious- try living in Putnam county 30 years - hearing the same people, who've at charity events, you helped arrange. I made an appointment at this salon back in April never having been before. A young girl with dark curly hair cut and blow dried my hair. She was friendly enough but the haircut wasn't great and it felt like she was pulling at my hair when she blow dried it. When I left the salon my hair was still damp and it did not feel healthy. My haircut was almost $100 and it was so not worth it. I will most definitely not be going back. read more

This was my first time at this Salon, I was very disappointed. When I called for the appointment they told me the name of the Stylist, who had good reviews. When I got there they changed the stylist to someone else. I have short hair and the stylist they gave me did not know how to cut short hair. I asked her to review and discuss with me before she cut but she did not know what to ask. I had to tell her that the sides did not match. She wet down my hair it was dripping and she said you're done, I asked her are going to blow my hair dry? Very disappointing! I paid over $75 for the hair cut and she did not how to cut or blow dry. The Stylist was Extremely inexperienced with cutting short hair. It is unfortunate that stylist do not learn to cut short hair, too inexperience. Worst service ever. I showed many pictures of color I wanted to owner and stylist. It took them three times to get the haircut right I complained about the over processing that made my hair incredibly frizzy and the color was absolutely nothing what I asked for and when I went to the owner he swore he was going to change the color and make it right he made right the frizziness by giving me conditioning treatments and kept saying he would fix the color and when it came down to it he gaslighted me , kept gaslighting me throughout the entire process finally I gave up I'll never go back there and he never even made the girl apologize for messing up my hair she never spoke to me she never looked at me and never came to me and said I'm sorry you're dissatisfied nothing she also tried to make like I didn't tell her or show her what I wanted when I absolutely did. And after she messed up my hair I went back and told her that I was not happy and could I get a discount on products at the very least to get the frizziness out and she just laughed at me and charged me full price .at that point in the beginning I was desperate to get rid of some of the frizz that they told me I've had my whole life when I am me and I know I didn't.i even held off with my review to see if they would make it right. Had a great experience here today, Chad gave me a beautiful cut and color. Today was the first time that I had gotten my hair colored in over 5 years and I must say Chad absolutely blew me away. The color is beautiful, so natural & classy looking and the cut is amazing. My hair feels so soft and full of life I couldn't ask for anything better. Chad was very professional and friendly, he made me feel super comfortable, and offered great advice on what would look best for me and also on how to maintain my hair in a healthy way and promote strong and healthy hair growth. I walked in a few hours before closing on a Saturday, and Olivia had just had a cancellation and took me right away. I described what I wanted, she made some suggestions, and then the haircut commenced. Olivia did a great job! Everyone was very pleasant, and it was a nice setup. They're getting a full remodel this week so I expect it will be even nicer. The price was fair and I look forward to my next appointment. My appointment was screwed up elsewhere for an event I had so I walking into Doriano's salon for the first time without an appointment and they took me in right away on a busy Saturday. But, I requested a specific stylist to do my hair and I was disappointed that the assistant took over to do every single step of the process. Over all love the salon. I've been going here for years but the price keeps going up!! It seems that every time I go it increases $20 to $30. The last time I went I paid $200 for a full head of highlights and a few weeks back they charged me $230 for the same haircut. About seven years ago it was only 140 for a full set of highlights. (I have medium length hair). The girl who I usually go to is truly an expert and I always give an outstanding tip but idk why the prices keep going up!!! It's definitely trying to be NYC prices for Fishkill NY. Come on it's Fishkill!! The one thing that really bothers me is that they don't have any prices listed on their website on their website so it seems like they just throw numbers at you at the end which I find extraordinarily unprofessional. I know that all of the hair stylist and Doriano work really hard ,but for a good paying client for about seven years you would think that they would keep the price for you about the same just because you have stuck with them for so long :/ as much as it does stink because their work is really great but the way that they have treated me as someone who has always paid well and tipped very well I don't think that I will be back anytime soon. read more

This salon was recommended to me by a friend who got their hair done previously at the establishment. They said the hairdressers were really good, so I went and got my hair done. This was about a year ago now. The hairstylist I had initially was very good at coloring hair and doing what I asked for, but recently I had a pretty bad experience. The hairstylist that worked on my hair more recently cut my hair way too short even after I had shown her reference photos, and then put caramel highlights in my hair that is what i didn't want or ask for. I wanted a root shadow and blonde ends, kind of like a balayage. I left the salon after struggling to pay the $185, and came back the next day because I hated how the cut and color looked on me. The receptionist that was there that day told me that I had to speak to the owner to ask for a refund and he wasn't there. so I came back the next day and I asked the owner for a refund and I told him what happened. The owner Doriano was very kind and understanding and felt bad about the mishap. the after receptionist however was rude to me, for someone reason. In the end, however, I managed to get my refund. can't say I'll be coming back to this salon. read more

I had been to Doriano's before many years ago. I came back again this past Friday. I wanted a new look since I lost a lot of weight. Olivia was my stylist. She is amazing! She nailed the color I wanted and it was exactly what I wanted (copper red) a lot of stylists are not good with coloring red hair. She also cut my hair from being long to a chic Bob. The vibe in the salon was very chill and relaxed (which was totally not the vibe at my last salon which was tense when owner was around). The price was very reasonable. And is actually better than my hairstylist in the city (UWS), hands down. I highly highly recommend him, you cannot go wrong by having him be your hair stylist. Had good haircuts here consistently for a couple years then about 2 months ago went in for a trim and the woman gave me a completely crooked cut. When i went back to ask for it to be fixed the receptionist tried to get me to pay for the correction, and when i finally got it re cut it looked choppy and still uneven. My mom has been coming here for the past couple of months, and has been so happy with her hair. She set me up with the woman she has been seeing, Courtney. We went in for our appointment yesterday and I couldn't be happier. The salon itself is very appealing. The wall colors are relaxing, and overall atmosphere was lovely. A younger guy shampooed and conditioned my hair, he couldn't of been nicer. And gentle! Not rough like some people tend to do. I sat down and spoke with Courtney about what I wanted. One thing was I wanted to keep the length somewhat, even tho I had a ton of dead ends. She is so nice, and really listens. At the end when she spun me around, I had the biggest smile. The highlights in my hair look natural! How she styled my hair was beautiful as well! She definitely is educated in the field. She gives great advice about hair and what products to use on your hair. The chipping/ peeling paint and seriously worn and dated decor, lots of dirt and dust in the corners is a DOWNER. BUT you can get seriously nice hair here that is not super expensive .
