Front color after appt. With Monica (I asked for blonde balayage with ashy toner)

This is the first time I go to this location but not the first time with the stylist, Monica Manjarrez, it will be the last though. As Monica started bleaching my hair, she got bleach in her eye and I asked her if she is okay and to wash her eyes but she insisted that she was okay and did not wash her eyes right away and continued on with bleaching the rest of my head. By the time she took me to the bowl to wash, the top section of my head has been processing for less than 20 minutes. After washing, toning, rinsing and blow drying, the top section of my hair had Dalmatian splotches of yellow (not blonde) spots; Monica was going to continue on with styling my hair when I told her that I can see to big splotches. That's when she took me back to the rinsing bowl and she told me "I will just tone it to cancel it out, it will be a little darker," and then proceeded to put toner in my hair without consulting me of how dark my hair would be or if I was okay with that color. After rinsing my hair and drying part of it, my hair went from the blonde I came in with to copper brown and when she asked "how do you like it?" I told her that I never get that color and that I never change my toner nor what I get; in which she replied "well, I am freaking out about my eye, I just cannot do this right now, I need to go to the ER." She tried to continue on with styling my hair in which I told her that since she is in a hurry to go to the ER, I just want the part that was dried to be rinsed and left after. Monica was barely apologetic and when we were trying to reschedule to get my hair fixed she did not prioritize getting me in the books asap even though she saw how messed up my hair was; she actually rescheduled me for the following Friday which was a whole week. When I went home and after my hair dried completely dried, I had color variation of copper, brown, yellow, and green at the top of my head, if I bleached my own head I would have not ended up with that. Seeing those colors almost made me shave my whole head bald as there was no way in hell that I would wait a whole week and walk around looking like a clown so I seemed another stylist and I let Monica know that I will not be coming back for the second appointment since I cannot wait a whole week. My 2nd appointment with the other stylist was 2 days after my appointment with Monica; while washing my hair to prep it for the 2nd appointment, brown color was depositing in the rinsing water which means that Monica DID NOT wash my hair properly and that it was processing for TWO DAYS; needless to say after washing my hair it was as dry as the Sahara desert and it lost any definition of curliness. When I went to my second appointment, I had to cut all the fried portion of my hair which was 2/3 of my hair. This was very unprofessional, disrespectful to my time, and very uncalled for for a faithful client. I would definitely think twice before booking with her if you value your time. I am attaching pictures of how blonde I was before the appointment, what I asked for, how brown my hair was in the front, and how different of a shade it was in the back and how damaged it was after the appointment for reference.

Monica is probably the only person I would ever trust to touch my hair again. She was able to get exactly what I wanted and that has never happened for me before. She is so sweet and got me out the door in 30 mins and for a crazy low price!? I wouldve paid everything I had if she asked for it she's that amazing. I highly recommended her I will definitely become one of her regulars!

Crappy work with tape ins!!! Stay far away!

If you need to get tape in extensions. Stay far away from Monica. She sucks! 5 hours later and a botched job. Monica don't take on what you know you can't handle! It was an amateur job and waste of money. $200 and I had to redo them. Yes she offered to redo them but I wouldn't allow her to touch my hair after the first botched job. She has some nerve. She needs to give me double my money back for dealing with her BS!!! If you want to get rainbow childish hair go to Monica. I'm not sure if she does a good job though. Check out these pictures! She placed all the tape ins on middle to bottom of my head. 3 entire packs! Didn't blend well at all. Monica you are a joke and need to stay away from extensions. People don't have time for your crappy work. Time is if the Essences and I don't have time to waste. Plus I had to pay to redo them. I went to mariomax. They guys danny and Sam are amazing and obviously experts, unlike this chick who is a joke. She is nice and I hate to rip her like this but I have to give my honest feedback.

So I have to change my review because I got my extentions on Monday and by Friday 8 pieces have already fallen out. The hair is very good quality and I think she is really good at doing tape in extensions but not the microbeads

Monica did a partial foil on my hair and it came out great. She blended the color in very nicely and naturally.

I went to Monica in August to get my hair lightened. I've had a hard time finding a good hair colorist. It has always been hit and miss with getting foils done with other hair stylists. Often they start them too low or make it look really "stripy", obvious, and outdated. Monica did a great job. It came out looking very natural.

I visited this salon in December because I was looking for a salon closer to me, as my regular…read morecurly hair stylist is based in Los Angeles, and I wasn't going up there anytime soon. I specifically requested a stylist who specializes in curly haircuts. When booking the appointment, I asked the receptionist directly if the stylist I was scheduled with specialized in curly hair. I was told yes. When I arrived and checked in, I asked again and received the same confirmation When I met with the stylist, I showed several reference photos, all with the same curl pattern and texture as my hair. I was very clear about what I liked and, more importantly, what I disliked in each photo. Above all, I explained that I was looking for more volume and more layers. It became apparent during the cut that the stylist did not know how to properly cut textured or curly hair and was not truly trained as a curly hair specialist. As the cut progressed, it was clear that my mid-layers were cut significantly shorter than my top layers, creating an uneven shape that did not support curl formation or volume. By the time we got to styling, I was honestly just over it. I left the salon disappointed with the result. I should have spoken up in the moment, but as someone in her mid-40s who has had curly hair her entire life, I know when a stylist simply does not have the training. There is no benefit in critiquing technique that isn't there. Stylists may be taught the basics of cutting curly hair in school, but that does not make them specialists. Curly hair requires advanced training, certifications, and ongoing education. I specifically requested a specialist, and that distinction was not honored. If you have straight hair and are looking for a basic blowout or loose curled blowout, this salon is likely a good fit for you. However, if you have any texture or curl pattern at all, I would strongly recommend avoiding this salon and seeking out a stylist who is truly trained in textured and curly hair. After this appointment, I went to Los Angeles to see my regular curly hair stylist. She had to correct the cut, address the uneven layering, and reshape my hair entirely. The difference was night and day. My curls were defined, clumped, full of volume, and healthy. They were not frizzy. The photos speak for themselves. I'm sharing this to be honest and helpful. Accurate representation of stylist expertise matters, especially for clients with textured or curly hair.

She tried to say my son's hair was done, when it was lopsided, I had to tell her she needed to clip over his ears, she left him with one sideburn and shaved off the other one. This is the end result. My hair had become brassy and I just wanted to add low lights and some dimension. I showed many, many photos to make it clear what I wanted. Unfortunately, the final result was drastically different from what I requested. Much of the interior and underside of my hair was colored a very dark brunette tone, creating a flat, heavy appearance rather than the dimensional look shown in the photos we reviewed. The ends of my hair look completely black, nothing like the photos I showed. The issue wasn't that my hair became darker overall. I expected more depth and lowlights. The issue was that much of the brightness and dimension was lost, particularly underneath, leaving large sections of the hair looking like one solid dark color. To Cynthia's credit, she did offer to adjust the color by adding highlights and ultimately provided a full refund when I explained that I was no longer comfortable proceeding with additional processing since my first request was so misunderstood and poorly executed. While I appreciate her efforts to make things right afterward, the final result did not reflect the look we spent significant time discussing beforehand. I'm honestly still devastated.
