The traditional class is one hour long with warm-up and cool down. In the traditional format you learn 1 minute of choreography. 1 minute doesn't sound like a lot but that is several different eight counts. At the end of class you do an optional group performance. I always get a really good workout (400 kcal burned at least) every time that I signed up for class. My other favorite class that I like to attend is the non-stop cardio format which is 45min. This reminds me more of Zumba or Werk, were you follow the teacher for the dance moves and there is multiple songs. In the traditional format, you have the same song the whole class. Which is nice because you get to know the type of music and instructor before class. The music choices vary: Latin, pop, hip hop, 90s, 00s, and various others types. This location is relatively new but so far the community is diverse and well rounded. The owner Julia has done a good job of keeping the momentum going. What I like is that they do so much outside of dancing such as Diva Dates and neighborhood outings. I recommend giving this a try if you like dancing and being around some amazing people. The instructors have various techniques and I am thrilled when I leave class learning something new. I believe your first class is free, so come check it out.

Let me start off by saying the staff was super helpful and friendly, the location was clean and they had everything you need. Clean bathrooms with amenities, water and storage lockers. The instructor KILLED the class! He was high energy and super nice! He made the class easy to follow and I got a killer work out! It went by so fast before I knew it I was on mile 11. I've gone to many cycle locations before and this one by far was the best. I have a cycle bar in front of my building and this is one about .8 miles away but I will be joining this one as it was a great event. I got the chance to meet our yelp manager Alex and he was super friendly with great energy! I will be back!

I am hoping that it was a glitch in that damn weight scale machine which it probably was because all I ate was a plate of the typical Thanksgiving food, plus one-half of a whole apple pie, hehe. And it probably did no justice skipping a few workout days, too. I was excited for this opportunity because CycleBar has been one of my bookmarks for sometime now as I'am secretly seeking out a spin studio. And out of a list that includes Studio Three, SoulCycle, and Cycmode, its location fits perfectly because it sits within a 3-mile radius from my apartment and easily accessible via CTA Morgan - Green line. Visiting CycleBar for the first time, it appeared smaller than I imagined, yet clean and well-kept! And prior to the start of our spin class I peaked inside the restroom which had this homely-like touch. The studio itself had an amazing appearance and I loved that our workout results were visual because it motivated me to put out extra effort near the end. Oh, and being a road cyclist, I felt well in my element wearing clip-in bike shoes, clicking in to the pedals on the spin bike. The spin class was wonderful! And the instructor, Jaxson was energetic and encouraging. Being that I had not taken a spin class in sometime my rhythm was terrible despite enjoying the music in the process, but I still had fun and hung in there. Not bad, CycleBar! It's by far one of the most affordable gyms around with friendly staff, professional trainers, excellent classes, a great selection of machines, equipment and facilities including pool, steam and sauna. Lately, however, some negatives have been marring the overall experience. VASA did a massive membership drive/upgrade at the end of 2025 which has increased foot traffic dramatically. It's rare to visit now and not have a wait to use machines (especially treadmills). And speaking of treadmills, there are currently 3 treadmills out of order, and it appears that 1 or 2 are missing, given the spacing in the first row of machines. My second and bigger criticism is the subpar housekeeping, specifically the men's locker room toilets. There has been an ongoing issue with at least one toilet being clogged by paper and waste. And often multiple stalls with no toilet paper. There has been one stall marked "out of order" for a week. Yesterday and today there was another toilet clogged, and the other two stalls with no paper. Other times I've seen toilets clogged and water that has overflowed. Really disgusting to walk through that! Overall, I give this gym 4 stars for equipment and facilities offered. Sadly, they deserve 1 star for maintenance and housekeeping.

I've tried to address this at Wheaton VASA and through corporate. All I've received in return is form letters and assurances. Pool: In the pool, the ledge on each of the three swimming lanes is covered in dirt and grime. Items float at the bottom of the pool, such as Band-Aids and gauze. In the corners of the pool, sediment, mostly dirt and sand, settle in the bottom of the pool. Interestingly, the pool is often closed. Not sure why they do such a terrible job of keeping it clean. Hot tub: hot tub is equally repulsive and not maintained properly. The intakes are covered with black mold and grime. For some reason, they close it every few days in the morning. Often you cannot use it. Seems like it would be better to clean it. (although, I'm not sure they ever do.) when customers are not using it. In off hours. Water access: some bottle fillers / water fountains Have been broken for months. (The one by the sauna, for example). Nothing seems to be maintained well. Locker rooms: these are bad! 1) the shower stalls in the men's locker room smell like a truck stop urinal. Flies Buzz around the stall as you shower. This indicates maggots are in the drain. It's been like this for months. 2) there is insufficient seating in the locker room. Some people spread all their positions on the benches, leaving no room for other others to change. This could be remedied easily but VASA, both locally and nationally is non-responsive to suggestions of customers. 3) the air vents on the ceiling, appear to be clogged with mold. This can't be healthy. 4) the hooks in the shower stalls have been broken off for almost a year. Any items you bring with you to the shower Must sit on the floor in the shower. What is most troubling is the lack of response to the lack of cleanliness. There is a reason VASA is cheap. It is built upon not expending money for cleanliness. They rely on customers, not caring that they may catch a disease from the unsanitary conditions. It is part of the VASA business model, I suppose. If enough of us bring attention to the unhealthy conditions, perhaps VASA will fulfill their obligations. I suggest reporting it to the DuPage County health department.
