I'd give zero stars if I could. This store needs better customer service. The cashier did not even acknowledge my presence at checkout and walked away from the register instead of finishing helping bag my order. I packed my order myself while the cashier walked away, 2 other employees were standing around chatting, and the person in charge of the checkouts stood around talking as well. read more

I must remember, when ever they have a sale the expiration date is right around the corner of the sale product. as an example sale on crackers, the purchased product expired in less than 2 months. other store sales the product is valid for at least 6 months. buyer beware read more

An excellent shopping experience at Shaw's! Lots of fresh produce and all priced similarly to their competitors. I tend to shy away from Shaw's because of them typically being a little more pricey, but not here! Also I didn't have to have a store card to be able to take advantage of the price reductions, love that! read more

I find it hilarious when I read the bad reviews. It's an older store but the inventory is fresh and well stocked. I can always find stuff that every other supermarket is out of The staff are mostly young but very sweet. Don't show up here during rush hour and expect to breeze through. read more

Hard to find products with the constant changes that they make with the isles! The check out lines are always outrageously long and slow moving ! Shaw's is less than a mile from my neighborhood, but I grocery shop across town. I use Shaw's for a quick fix if I need something in a pinch, but don't shop here if your time is tight! read more

I really like Shaw's in Milford MA and have been shopping there for years. Everything I need is always in stock. Eileen who works in produce is very nice and personable when I'm in there and she knows my schedule. All of the staff are awesome. I personally have never had a problem with this store and will continue shopping there! read more

Plusses - Best sales ech week if you are a Just4U member; only supermarket on this side of Milford where I live; they have added self-checkout again Minuses - Sale items run out and are not restocked again (never saw Just4U water cases last week after Saturday); empty shelves compared to competitors; they raise the prices on items, then put items on sale for old price; Very high prices on certain items, example Alouette cheese spread $5.49 versus $2.39 at Market Basket; lack of carts in store when the parking lot is full of them; lack of baggers. Some good cashiers and stockers, but lousy management. read more

Employees are very nice and helpful. However... 1. Check the expiration dates closely on the meat and dairy. ESPECIALLY if its on sale. I've found expired items there several times in the last few months. 2. Check your receipt as soon as you check out. (Their registers make it almost impossible for you to see the actual price being rung in). I was overcharged for several sale items and noticed it when I got home. Went back the next day and had to go to the service desk. It was several dollars worth of overcharge, which the service desk said they were happy to refund the difference to me without a problem. However, under Massachusetts law, you are actually supposed to get the items for free, which they did do this without a peep when I mentioned the law. Now I always check my receipts right after I check out. 3. They run amazing 3 day sales that they never seem to have adequate stock for. They claim they will restock before the sale is over but they don't. They complain about store policy if you ask for a raincheck but you are entitled to one, again under Massachusetts law. So... Still a good store with wide variety of stock and good sales but buyer beware!! read more

This appears to be an older Shaws location, and as a result it is a bit small, as is the parking lot. I've never seen the lot full, so that isn't a concern. I only go here when I need a few things, because it is the closest supermarket to Hopedale. I don't really mind the selection or the prices really, but what really bothers me is how often I find expired food on the shelves. Too often I don't notice until I get home, so now I check each and every item I put into my cart. As you can imagine, that makes shopping even more tedious than it is already. They even wring every last day out of all of the produce. Be wary of anything that is on special in that department, because it might mean they know it is past its shelf life, and they're trying to unload it fast. I've gotten very old rubbery carrots, and a few avocados that have taught me to check very carefully. I'd be more forgiving of this one complaint area if they were a little more convincingly apologetic when you point it out, rather than debating you on whether the apples really are rotting in the bin, or when the 16 year old at the help desk shrugs, grunts, and says "Yeah, we get that a lot." read more

Shaws was always a good choice, but now is getting much more competitive since the new stop & shop has opened. Everytime i go weekends there are some new specials going on. Today I got some great looking pork packages for 99 cents a pound. Now the place us still small by comparison to S & S or Big Y, but just saying to watch them. read more

World's worst grocery store. Horribly run. There is always a line. The produce department always has crappy produce. They used to have self check out, but they got rid of it for some reason. I hate that this is the closest to my house. Sometimes I drive ~20 minutes round trip out of my way just to go to Price Chopper in Hopkinton. Avoid at all costs. read more

I have shopped in that building for over 30 yrs. when it was Iandoli's, and so many more prior to that. I now go there only because it's convenient to where I work. I do my usual full grocery order at Big Y or Stop & Shop. the store is always lacking at least two or three items I am looking for. This manager, a small man with white hair, is always has a scowl on his face. I have encountered him, asking him a question now and then and he is downright rude. I have spoken with other people about him and they have concurred. He shouldn't be the manager of anything. He has probably been working for the company since he was in high school. Get rid of him! my fiance and i go to this shaw's because it is literally two minutes from our house. the meat and fish at the counter are always fresh and in really good condition. the service at that counter is impeccable. the housemade garlic/cheese sausage is delicious, especially grilled. that said- there are literally never enough people working. the cashier lines are laughable, and for that reason, i no longer go. thankfully my fiance doesn't mind the wait. read more

Ok store to shop. Clean with a good lay out. I treat this store like a giant connivence mart. Prices are comparable to other supermarkets. They got rid of there savings card and lowered prices on a lot of items about a year ago(2015). I've never done a complete shopping here. Mainly I am running in to get a few things. Which can be a quick thing or a very long frustrating experience. It has an ok selection of items. No "Press N Seal" for some reason? Produce is good. Meat is good. Seafood is ok depending on the day. The front of the store staff is friendly. There isn't much staff in the rest of the store. It's tough to find a manager sometimes and when I do the manager is usually less than friendly. You may have to wait in line at check out especially late afternoons and Saturdays, or every day ending in "day". Gluten free, vegetarian, "healthy" selection items available in an isle near the service desk. I return often. The Deli is usually very slow. Plan accordingly. Self checkout lanes have been removed(November 2016). For some inexplicable reason the store was reorganized. That old "go to spot" for that one item you need may not be there anymore. An observation I have made of his store is that it is the only supermarket in this area of Milford. Eastern Milford is served by Big Y( former Hannaford's) Stop & Shop and Aldi with a quick trip down 495 to Bellingham to access Market Basket(another very busy store) and Whole Foods. This Shaw's services Milford, Hopedale, Mendon, Upton and probably a few people from Bellingham. It's a combination of the amount of people in this service area and a store that is small by today's standards. What should probably happen is Shaw's should expand to the entire property(eliminating Walgreen's) & add a Pharmacy inside the store or demolish and start new at this location or one nearby. read more

Why they got rid of the self-check out lanes is totally and completely beyond me. Whenever I go here even when in the express lane it takes me 45 minutes to check out - no exaggeration. The definition of inconvenient. Bring back self check outs like every other supermarket post 1990 has. read more

The place seems to be between Stop & Shop and Hannafords when it comes to prices. The product variety is about average. Decent produce and meat. There's some decent deals when it comes to the reduced price meats that are close to the expiration dates. However that includes the grey steaks. The store itself is dark and has an old dirty feel to it. Not much when it comes to prepared food. read more

I like this shaws over the whittinsville one I used to go to. It's smaller, but so is the parking lot so I can park closer. I usually end up with the second to last cart so I wonder if people run out of carts. I like how this store has more organic and gluten and dairy free products than other shaws that I've been too. Their seafood selection is good too. I do not like their new rewards program though. Why can't we get both has a grocery coupons/rewards like before? read more

My family splits our shopping between Shaws in Milford and Price Chopper in Hopkinton. Shaws is more convenient, but not as well stocked. The quality of the produce and meats in Shaws is very hit or miss. Check the dates on everything. I have come home with rancid chicken more than once from Shaws. I really can't tell you why I go there except it is close. If competition ever comes to that part of Milford, they Shaws will be toast. read more

Yes this is an older location that started out as an Iandoli's and was expanded in a couple of times to get to the size that it is now. They have really good sales, the staff are always friends, but the way their register system rings up items, then applies discounts and multi buy deals, it can be a bit complicated to be sure that you actually got items for the price they are supposed to be, if there is a price mistake, the Service Desk is always very helpful and quick to make things right. read more

The only thing that keeps me reluctantly coming back to this supermarket is its proximity to my home. I have no idea how they can stock every herb except mint, there's never any hot chickens at dinner time and the labeling/pricing especially in freezer section always seems to be missing, especially on end caps or promo items. Also they really need to work on their customer service. I've had many encounters where the staff barely talk, aren't friendly and there's one tall, dark-haired gentleman who has been there for many years and is the most unhelpful, unfriendly server I think I've ever met. I made a suggestion that they please ask the deli/fresh counter manager to ensure there were chickens available at dinner time (when they would sell and you'd expect to buy them) and was greeted with a grunt, no apology and not even a 'I will pass that info along' so rude!! Not to mention the lines are ridiculous and why on earth they took out the self serve is beyond me. This store needs major work. If it weren't for Milford traffic I'd avoid it at all costs. read more

Shopping here gas become a nightmare...long lines made worse by removal of the self checkout. No rhyme or reason to the format change in terms and of product locations. Younger employees are often too busy chit chatting in lieu of improving customer service and a daytime grocery manager puts a new spin on RUDE (toward customers and employees). Strongly recommend an inservice on customer service; which should include the basics on manners and generally being polite to customers. Big koodos to Anthony at the service desk and to Mary ( supervisor) as well as the older women at the registers. Agree with Cal L..,,watch expiration dates and check your register receipt before leaving. Pricing seems comparable and you often get some good buys on the 3 day sales. read more

Perfect place to go if you want to stand in long lines

This place has gone downhill in the past year. They've eliminated a lot of their store brand foods. There's never any employees around to help if you need to find something. BEWARE of using your debit card. We used ours and it wouldn't go through. We tried again and it still didn't go through. Had to use ATM to get the cash to pay. (they waived the 3.50 ATM fee) The cashier said it was a computer glitch that happens on occasion. There were carriages with food in them from other customers that were so mad that they left the store because of the computer glitch. After leaving the store we checked our bank acct and found that they charged us twice for the 2 times the debit was swiped. We called and the manager (Jeremy Conti) told us to come down and he would credit our acct. I asked if he wanted me to print out my bank record to prove their error. He said no and he would take care of it. When we got there he asked for a bank receipt to prove what we were saying. So we had to go to the bank and have them print out a statement. Manager questioned the bank statement. Unbelievable!! After leaving we checked our acct and the money had not been credited yet. It sure came out pretty quick when the card was swiped during checkout though. Check your canned goods too. They have outdated cans on their shelves. This store has gone downhill and after 20 yrs and thousands of dollars later I will never shop there again and I suggest that you only use cash if you do. The only good thing is the cashiers. They seem friendly. Also beware of the "specials". They're not that special. The BOGO free in meat dept is way overpriced. They charge so much that it's not a value at all. read more
