I have shopped here for 40 plus years. Now so much for any kind of customer help. Went in yesterday gave my phone to my soninlaw to help get stuff for Christmas. Nothing would load so I wouldn't get sale prices. Left the cart left the store and will never go back. I'll drive to another store first. Call the help load oh this doesn't match. Do this do that. Once again , Shaws failed to honor their listed price. Overcharged for items again and now have to go back to resolve the issue. Not surprised that everyone is leaving Shaws for Market Basket. I guess it's time to give up on Shaws and join the crowd at Market Basket ..... read more

Always great service and decent prices. My only problem lately is the free product that is offered every week. I can never find it. Today was sweet potato chip. I looked in the four different areas for chips but never found them. I never asked, because I am use to not being able to find them. It is not like they ate sold out. I'm there saturday mornings between 7 and 8am. No I think they hide the stuff. It's unfair to the product because I'll never buy it with out trying it. Or it could be scam. Overall the place is decent. Smart milk is still a buck more than their competitors. The ladies at the register are always pleasant, helpful, and quick. read more

Shaw's is a great store in general, as this one is to. There is one thing with this store, that you never see in any other Shaw's stores, and that being, every time I go into this store past 5 or 6 o'clock they have one register open and there could be a line that's a mile long and they just act as if they don't even acknowledge it. Pretty sad, especially for that person that only needs one or two items ! What's even worst is that they have self checkout registers that they have never even used I don't think. read more

My review centers around management of this particular store. At any given time, there are an inadequate number of registers available for checking out. Irrespective of the number of customers in the store, the usual number of open registers is either one or two. Frequently, lines consist of ten or more people. Obviously, store management does not consider this a priority. In addition, there are four self-service registers. Yesterday, only two of the four were operational. Do you ever post good yelps, i wonder. so what if you can get a coupon card for the 1 or 2 lost leaders. i don't get a rebate when i buy something in canada and pay VAT taxes. get over it. i always find consistant good prices and much more variety than hannafords. When i just want to pick up some "health food stuff" i go to that aisle. in hannafords, they used to have a section now they hide it. they have a "health" section in EVERY AISLE instead always out of the line of sight, hoping you'll buy crap you don't want to eat cause you have to go down every aisle. read more

I recommend that you take those small scallops OFF the Sale items for the month.They are 2/$10.00 and I bought ONE package. They were spoiled and awful tasting/ Thank goodness we only ate a few of them . Threw the rest of them away. Will NEVER buy them again. Normally I look to see where they come from but neglected to do it. CHINA it says on the package. NO WAY will I buy anything from there. BUT I bet you will get complaints. Had a strange odor to them also. Shaws has some decent prices and I have BOYCOTTED Hannafords for many months now. Just too costly for me to go to Market Basket once a week . I live in North Conway. I use this store for few items only . . . beef and seafood, which are better quality than Hannaford. This store never has enough registers open. Recently, I shopped on a Saturday morning for one item. A long line . . . only one register was open with 3 employees standing around the front of the store, but not opening another checkout. The cashiers seldom count back your change or say "thank you." On numerous occasions I have brought the lack of baskets at the Entrance to the Manager's attention to no avail. There are stacks at the Exit, but none at the Entrance. The Manager even told me that I was entering the store on the wrong side! (The large sign over my head clearly states Entrance; a new road was created on that side to direct people to the parking lot) The side I enter on leads to the bakery/produce dept, not the exit/checkout. Also, in the summer months the smell from the dumpster at this Entrance is bad. Shouldn't the dumpster be moved to the back of the store as to not assault the customers before they enter the store. Can't wait for Market Basket to be built as I am tired of stopping at 2 grocery stores to complete my list. read more

Unfriendly, unprofessional manager by the name of Mary rudely refused to sell me wine because my 30-year old brother, who was with me, forgot his ID at home. I offered to come back later to buy it on my own, but she said she would not sell it to me. I understand that it's the law but she could have been friendlier about it. Instead, she demonstrated an awful attitude and lack of respect by threatening to kick us out (we were spending $200 worth of groceries at the time!). She made me feel like such a criminal and not like a customer. What kind of customer service is that? The poor cashier ringing us up appeared to be scared of this Mary woman as well. Clearly Mary loves having so much power over people! I will not be spending my money here anymore. Hannaford's may be a little pricier, but it's certainly classier and the staff all wear smiles on their faces there! I don't live in N. Conway but I visit family there very often and I always spend a lot of money when in town. read more

The milk on the shelve has been up to 10 days past the date. I told two different managers on 2 different occasions and they both shrugged it off; one saying that they restock when they sell. I understand I need to check the date but sometimes after work I am rushing and put a few things in the carriage, pay, and go home. I do not like having to drive back and exchange out milk after being gone from the house for about 10 hrs for work. The managers just don't seem to care read more
