My second favorite was Chicken Kebab (Jooje Kabab). Great combination of spices and fresh ingredients. Koobideh tasted great, too. The meat was fresh and didn't smell bad. The only opportunity for improvement would be the rice; Better rice quality could be used to obtain better taste.

I liked the grilled meat and rice. The "naan" is actually Babari bread which is more typical of Afghanistan. It was tasty. Ambiance 2/5. Very simple, but clean. Some decorations and paintings depicting scenes from Afghanistan. There is a raised area where you can sit on the floor together, or use that for a prayer area. Service- 2/5. You order at the counter and then pick up your order when it's ready. You take your dirty dishes back to the front counter area when you're done. Cafeteria style. The food came out pretty quick. They do a lot of takeout business it seems. A year or two ago I went to Bamian kabob (also Afghani) closer to Toronto. There's not as many choices in Saint Catherine's for this type of cuisine. I'm glad we tried this restaurant.

We peeked inside. It was busy and with quite a few Persians. We decided to try it. I am so glad that we tried it. Everything that we ordered was outstanding. We got the Rayhoon trio sampler, Addas Palo, and lamb shank. The trio sampler was basically 3 different dippings and came with a basket of bread. The owner was very nice. While we were enjoying the food, he walked up and greeted. He explained how we could use the trio sampler to enjoy the entrees which really made it even better. Following the suggestion, I put a little bit of lamb sauce over the rice and put a little bit of yogurt sauce over a small piece of lamb, then ate them all in one spoon.... It was amazing!

We ordered "Coban salad" for starters and also enjoyed "Sultan Beetroot Tort with freshly baked pita" that was included in all Kebab menus. For main dish, we ordered "Adana Kebab" and "Chicken Shish Kebab". Both were deliciously seasoned and cooked. Chicken Shish wasn't too oily, which we really appreciated as it was one the healthiest meals we could find in a restaurant. The service is good in general, but sometimes it's hard to attract the staff's attention and it might take longer for your request to be met.
