Ordered a falfel wrap, brought it back to my office, opened it up, its some type of meat which is a bummer if you're a vegetarian. Not pro.

Where can I start !?!?! everything about this place is awesome !!! First, I can start with the service. (5/5) The service here is super fast, super friend and super awesome. I only had 30 mins for lunch break between classes. I can make it here, order foods, and finish eating before the next class started !!! On top of that, I love how they are able to customize how spicy you wanted your food to be. The guy who was helping me was very supportive about all my inquiries about the foods, despite they are being a little busy. Second, The food (5/5) I had the chicken plate. Literally, one of the best chicken I have ever had. Everything was well seasoned, and the rice was cooked to perfection. Every student complaining about not eating healthy, not if you eat here. Lean chicken meat, with your carb (rice), and a crap ton of veggies to fill your veggie portion for the day. Their meal is really well made. I mean you spend about 8$ at SAC anyway. So the price is not really that expensive. On top of that, it is really filling !! I just had one chicken plate and I was full till dinner. I really recommend their white sauce(signature white sauce). It goes well with everything. I have tried this kind of food at multiple food trucks in Austin but these guys really know what they're doing. Lastly, the location. (5/5) It is located literally right in front of the tower !!! It is super convenience for people wanting to grab a quick meal before heading to class or after or If you live on campus or in the general area who want good, and lean foods for a very reasonable price, I would recommend you guys stop by here. It is literally in the middle of all the attraction around downtown. Overall, this will be one of the place I would always stop by, and recommend people to come by. Also, this is a local business. Show some love for local business !!!!!! I would say they should open till a later 8pm on weekdays. I will definitely be eating here very often from now on. read more

I was in Austin for a few days for a conference on campus. With limited lunch time, I headed to the food truck location within just a few minutes of walking. I love Mediterranean food, and this place hit the spot. I was greeted by the nicest guy, then ordered the beef and lamb wrap (gyro), a side of pita bread with hummus, and a bottle of water. I was totally full and satisfied after eating the wrap but saved the hummus for an afternoon snack. For $11? Heck yeah. Sure beats the $15 "lunch" the AT&T conference center was offering. This wasn't "eats from the middle east" . I'm not sure where this food is from but they can do better. 1. Falafel isn't served with ranch dressing in my experience. 2. That pita isn't like any I've eaten from a real middle eastern restaurant. It was more like sweet Indian fry bread. 3. The falafel was powdery and dry. 4. The fries tasted like frozen and not freshly cut potatoes. 5. Hardly worth $16 for 2 falafel wraps, a fry and a bottle of ozarka. I'd love to see this place succeed, but as of now, Juiceland, Kebabalicious,and Maoz are all better. Step it up guys!!! read more

I was excited when I noticed a shawarma trailer here. I got the chicken shawarma wrap medium spicy (white people spicy) with a side of hummus and pita. Im disappointed. The chicken was in large chunks instead of shaved pieces as I am used to. The flavor of the chicken was ok, but the overall flavor of the wrap was lacking. The side of hummus was the most disappointing as it was grainy, thick, had no olive oil on top, and literally tasted like the kind of bean dip you eat with Fritos. It's closing time, feeling the effects of 6th street and all of a sudden hunger hits you. What do you do? You eat shawarma of course! Ordered the chicken shawarma plate (I like spicy food so I ordered the extra brown people spicy) and this place delivered. Chicken was flavorful, the rice was absolutely delicious as well. My only complaint is the meat to rice ratio. I had to ration my chicken to make sure I don't eat them all and be left with just rice. Overall, this place is decent. Not overly pricey. Shawarma Point food truck visited our Pflugerville neighborhood for a few hours. The food truck worker was amazing close to closing time with helping us feed our family for the evening. The gyro meat was great! The chicken had a great spice combination and the tzatziki sauce was very good. First off, the food they have is amazing. The wraps remind me of my time out of country. I love the food. But... They list the hours at 11-10 on Saturday. Out of the 7 times I have gone I have only been able to acquire this deliciousness twice. I typically go on Sat. Around 4-6pm There is always a gentlemen there and says "we are closed at this location but we open in a couple of hours". I don't understand this. I guess it's just disappointing because the food is so good...but the erratic hour are a thorn. ** Also just to make sure I this was justified, I stopped by at 6 pm the day this review was wrote(9/26) ...no one. Simply put? AMAZING. Super friendly service, excellent food, ready to eat quickly but tastes like someone spent hours on it? Yes, please! I came to this place while I was studying on campus and the chicken gyro was amazing. The workers were super nice and helpful. They gave me a lot of chicken so I only finished half. The bread that comes with it was super soft and delicious! And the white sauce was something else, I loved everything about this gyro and glad it's nearby campus, would come again 10/10 read more

I own a Food Truck and had the pleasure of parking alongside Shawarma Point at Hangout Music Festival 2017 in Gulf Shores, AL. During the 4 day festival, I not only had their Chicken Shawarma, I had their Beef & Lamb and Falafel as well... all "Brown People Spicy!" The food exceeded all of my expectations and the service is spectacular! I could not recommend a higher class food truck than Shawarma Point. I hate Shawarma Point... Because I LOVE their food, and then I'm left craving it all week! Myself and my tastebuds have been enjoying their tasty dishes since their first trailer opened in front of Twin Liquors in the heart of downtown. The flavors are on POINT (see what I did there...?), and I take a photo with or of the spice meter every time I visit their trailers. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a new Austin Fad, like the "I love you so much" graffiti, or the PacMan "never give up" on the bridge. In fact, I recall seeing the famed Spice Meter on Reddit a while back as well. So, yeah! An Austin symbol in the near future.. ;) This trailer is a total upgrade from their downtown one, and the area is more quaint than the bustling vibe of downtown. Plus, you can top off the meal with baklava! Or, a Gordoughs doughnut, conveniently, right next door... I would, and DO, recommend Shawarma Point to my friends, and they've all enjoyed it as well! After a long evening of bike riding, I stopped at the downtown Shwarma food truck and got a vegan falafel and hummus wrap with medium level sauce and it was awesome. I got the Chicken Shawarma on a whim today after some work at the university. This was one of the best chicken shawarma I have ever had. It is so simple yet so delightful. The chicken was warm and oh so moist. It was melt in the mouth tender and spiced with a mild marinade (as I requested). The pita bread was warm and vegetables were fresh. The sauce was creamy, making this a delicious experience. The guys service was quick and hassle free. I had the worst test today yet the best shawarma. Bonus point: It is halal for my muslim brothers and sister out here. 100% would try again and will take my friends. read more

By far the best place in Austin to get shawarma. I've been coming here at least once a week since they first opened in this location about two years ago. It's so good that I have cravings, yeah THAT good. They have delivery options too so on the days I can't make it there in person, I have someone bring me their awesome food. I highly recommend the chicken shawarma wrap, that's my favorite. I normally get it with the lesser spicy sauce but you've got the option to get it spicier. It was close to campus, but a bit disappointing. The falafel were hard. They're not supposed to be hard, but crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Texture completely off. I liked the flavor of the sauces, but Middle Eastern food is not supposed to be spicy. Just fyi. My friend had the shawerma and said it was good.
