First of all, this is not the same as the Shawarma King on Drake. They're two different restaurants with two different owners. This place is great--I probably end up picking up lunch here about every other week. The price is fantastic. My go to is the beef shawarma sandwich: so yummy. My mouth is literally watering as I think about it. It's $3.25 and probably the best lunch deal in the area considering how full of flavor it is. They also have baklava wrapped and ready to go by the register if you want to try some. (I usually take a package back to the office with me. Everyone loves it.) The service is great. The same woman always works the register when I go in, and she's friendly and efficient. I place my order with her, and it comes out within five minutes. I don't often have a lot of time to take lunch and knowing I can count on Shawarma King for something fast and delicious makes my day a little less stressful. If you have never been before, I highly recommend it. It might look a little scary the first time you go and you might not know what you're eating, but it's all delicious. Wow I cant believe I ignored coming here for so long. I am a big fan of shawarma king on drake so never really bothered to check out Shawarma King buffet. I was pleasantly surprised with their buffet which they offer throughout the day. You also have the option of to-go buffet which can last you couple days. Buffet has a decent variety of dishes including Kafta, Chicken biryani, Beef/Chicken shawarma, falafel, potatoes and okra. They also have a separate area for all the fixin's like hummus, baba ghanouj, tahini, garlic sauce and salad. This was one of my favorite restaurants but got a live roach in my to go food. When I brought it back immediately I was treated like I was a liar which switched quickly to its not my fault we wash our vegetables but nobody seemed shocked besides me. Then at the end the waitress told me it's okay you ate some of that food before noticing the roach in there I'm sure it wasn't on the food long. Like that roach not being there that long negates the fact that it happened don't worry I did immediately notify the health department on Gull rd also a full refund was giving and the food looked delicious just to bad I couldn't eat it read more

Conveniently located on Westnedge with easy parking, I usually grab some Shawarma on my way home from work once or twice a month. After another failed attempted at lunch at the Crow's Nest Mr. MVP took me to Shawarma King. Now I am not the poster child for buffet style food so this experience was a little out of my comfort zone, but I went in with an open mind and was determined to enjoy myself. I was honestly stunned at the quality (or lack thereof) of the food. The salad was bland and tasteless and drenched in a greasy dressing. All of the meats were drowning in their own sauces yet they were dry and tough. The vegetables, which I could not bring myself to even try, were floating in oily sauces. Everything was the same shade of brown. Brown meat, brown veggies, brown bread, brown rice and brown hummus. BROWN. Yuck! The dinning room was full of women and I asked Mr. MVP if this was normal and he said that it was a woman who introduced him to Shawarma King. Seriously ladies! I used to live right around the corner from this place a few years back and my boyfriend at the time would bring home the buffet to go option for lunch and every time it would it made me incredibly happy. So, when I came in from out of town I had to have it again. I called first and they were set to close in 45 minutes (they offered to stay open later for me which was incredibly kind but I didn't take them up for it) For like 5-6$ a pound for whatever you want which includes beef and rice and all kinds of gems you can buffet style it up into styrofoam containers and get what your little heart desires.
