I shopped around and got other quotes, they gave me the best price, and couldn't get better with others even after sharing their quote. What I value the most, is that they were the only ones who didn't try to sell me a whole new roof saying while others were trying to scare me.

Communication was not the strong suit here, and I want that to be very clear. I was excited for the…read moreroof to get started...until it did... I had no idea the project was even starting until the trailer showed up, followed by materials being dropped off. There was no communication from David beforehand letting me know timing, expectations, or next steps. I only received information after I reached out myself. To make matters worse, when David asked me which roofing color I wanted, I told him I was torn between two options. I never formally confirmed a final choice because I had no idea the project was about to begin. Suddenly materials were delivered and the roof was underway without any clear confirmation process or communication on timing. Beyond the communication issues, my neighbors repeatedly commented on how dangerous the working conditions appeared to be for the crew. The day materials were delivered, it was extremely windy, snowing, and freezing here in Enumclaw. The following days brought torrential rain and even more wind. Multiple neighbors expressed concern watching the workers on the roof in those conditions and said they felt genuinely bad for them. It felt unsafe and poorly managed from the start. One of the biggest frustrations was the additional material charges. When the materials arrived, it's reasonable to assume what was delivered was already accounted for and included. I was shown only five photos of damaged plywood, one of which was a duplicate. Based on those photos, only four boards even appeared to warrant replacement. Yet I was later told they replaced 26 sheets at an additional $129 per sheet, adding nearly $3,100 to the project cost. What's even more concerning is that there was no proof provided for the additional replacements. In today's world, where everyone has a phone capable of taking photos and videos within seconds, there is no reason there should not have been proper documentation before work was completed. When I questioned the foreman directly and asked where the proof was for 26 sheets needing replacement, he suddenly changed the number to 25. When I then asked for proof of the 25, he became uncomfortable, avoided answering, and walked away. The entire situation felt extremely questionable. They arrived with a large amount of plywood already onsite, stored outside in terrible weather conditions, and then suddenly nearly all of it "needed" to be used and billed. Again, there was no supporting evidence beyond a few photos. To make matters worse, they covered vents that should never have been covered. I had to request they come back out to uncover them after discovering the issue myself. Even then, the repairs were not completed properly. The vent boot was not sealed correctly, and ultimately my plumber had to get up on the roof and fix their work himself. There was also damage done to the home itself. My house is a 1921 Craftsman, and some of the original detail work was damaged during the roofing process, requiring me to hire someone else to repair it. They were also so aggressive on the roof that stonework was knocked loose and damaged completely. On top of that, my back garden was heavily damaged during the project. Daffodils that I wait all year to see bloom were crushed and broken. Large racks and materials were thrown onto plants along the side of the house during budding season, which effectively destroys them for the year. This was especially upsetting considering I am preparing to sell the home and have worked hard on the landscaping and curb appeal. There was also unnecessary disconnect around the trailer placement. Instead of simply discussing placement options with me ahead of time, I was questioned about why I "wouldn't let them use the driveway," which was never the case. The trailer company placed it where they chose to place it. In fact, I moved my car every single day specifically so the crew could access and use the driveway as needed. Trying to get answers throughout this process was an absolute nightmare. At one point, I had both the roofing company (owner Yani) and my plumber on a text thread trying to resolve the covered vent issue, and getting any clear response was incredibly difficult. There was also a significant language barrier that made communication with the crew very challenging throughout the project. What makes this even more frustrating is that in every other trade industry I've worked with (and talked to), whether contractors, plumbers, or electricians, additional work and costs are discussed and approved before they happen. That standard of transparency should apply to roofing as well. You do not simply add nearly $3,100 in charges without clear proof, communication, and approval. All in all, I am deeply disappointed with the experience and would never recommend this company to others. I also had a potential buyer complaining about lack of flashing around the chimney.

The communication with the project manager, Elijah, was exceptional from start to finish. He was wonderful to work with and was available throughout the entire project. We were able to schedule our roof replacement when we wanted to get it done and the job was completed in just two days. We were impressed that it was such a quick and smooth process. After our roof was done, our gutters just took one day to replace.. so in total, it only took 3 days to get a brand new roof and gutters! Also, throughout the entire process, Elijah (the project manager?) kept us updated on how things were going and was also easily reachable for any questions we had. We appreciated the good communication! My only minor "complaint" would be that the cleanup after the job being done wasn't 100%. There were a few scraps and caution tape leftover from the roof job, and then a large ladder was left from the gutter job. However, and more importantly, it was still a job very well done and we are happy with how things turned out. I would recommend NearMe if you are looking to get a roof or gutter replacement!

Mike was courteous and efficient in taking the order and provided a date for pickup at the Tacoma factory. I took a day off from work and on the morning of the day it was supposed to be available, I contacted the factory to confirm that it was ready. I was told that the shipment had left Sacramento but had not yet arrived. I called Mike and asked whether there was any way it could be shipped to me. Mike said he might be able to help if I could wait a few days. Within 4 days he called and told me he would be driving down near Tacoma and would pick it up for me and swing by to drop it off. That is what I call going the extra mile for your customer! Given this experience I would not hesitate recommending Western Sierra, or purchasing from them in the future.
