I believe it's relatively new because I've never noticed it before on Block Island and I tend to notice ice cream places. Then again it is sort of tucked away in a corner and could be hard to see. The store is small, with a counter for the scream and various candies and other treats scattered around. A couple of tables inside and a courtyard overlooking the ocean on the outside. Saying that the view is great is actually an understatement. We didn't bother with the candy but the ice cream was absolutely incredible. Smooth and rich and no doubt containing a astronomical amount of calories and fat, just the way great ice cream should be. They don't have vast amount of different types but enough variety to satisfy anybody except those looking for something very unusual. There aren't many things better in life than sitting in a beautiful spot over looking the ocean and devouring great ice cream. Even though it was hoter than hell when we were on the island, a cool breeze was coming off the water and combined with the richness and algidity of the great ice cream the world was a perfect place. At least our little part of the world. Their are lots of ice cream places in the world but The Scoop Shack is one of those special places that I will always seek out when I'm on Block Island. The place to relax and just appreciate the moment and forget everything else. The ice cream here is exceptional but no matter how good the scream is, the views will always be even better.

Everyone has heard of Ben and Jerry's and you know what to expect when going. I actually think the actual Ben and Jerry started the company in New England. Not sure if that is relevant but it is a fast fact for everyone at home. The ice cream here is packed with both flavor and calories. We went with some sort of cookie dough flavor in a small cone. Everything about it worked. The ice cream packs a punch and the cone was fresh. The paper holder did stick to the cone which was annoying but all good. There are a few ice cream shops by the port so not sure which one is the best but this one was good. All I know is you can't go wrong with Ben and Jerry's.

Tofu Spring Rolls and the Pork Potstickers. Both appetizers were generously sized. The spring rolls were fresh and flavorful, but having to assemble them myself at the table was a bit messy and took away from the enjoyment. I would have preferred them to come fully prepared. That said, they were still quite tasty. The pork potstickers, on the other hand, were a standout and an easy favorite of the meal. One downside was that the doors were open to enjoy the beautiful weather, but that also meant we were battling flies throughout our meal, which was a little distracting. Overall, Tigerfish was a great find with good food, knowledgeable service, and a convenient location. Despite a couple of minor drawbacks, we enjoyed our visit and will definitely return on a future trip to Block Island.
