I have spent some time writing a complaint letter to the Medical Board and the Healing Tides office. I may send it eventually, but tonight as I reflect I realize I wrote the complaint mostly to heal myself.
The Healing Tides office has genuine hope, however I wish I had done further research before I made my initial appointment. Without direct complaint, I suggest you look for a more professional office with adequate staffing and better accommodations. This independent office lacks necessity despite their claim of less clients versus healthcare providers.
I have had a few appointments with the nurse practitioner and both times left extremely disappointed. Ms. Milot maintains an attitude that warrants her opinion above the patient. I felt both times she was more interested in what her computer and chewing gum output provided rather than actually visually and physically interacting with me. The second appointment Ms. Milot preferred to 'talk down to me' instead of respecting the complicated issue that necessitates a specialist rather than an ER or Urgent Care. My specific issue can be rather embarrassing and difficult to deal with considering my modest lifestyle. In addition to the issue at hand I had already pursued the ER and Urgent Care route to no avail.
Ms. Milot specifically told me, "if I wasn't going to follow her orders of ER/ Urgent care then she would NOT even discuss options such as medications/ therapies" which I found extremely neglectful in terms of patient care. I felt insulted and denigrated as a child avoiding school. At that moment, I asked Ms. Milot to just sign my note for work, I informed her I would find another PCP and I stood and walked out. As I was walking out Ms.Milot said to call their office if I chose to end my care there. Obviously, Ms. Milot does not listen to the patient.
I have since found a much more respectable, professional and kind PCP near Kuakini who immediately filled the health care gaps (and emotional damage) left behind from the Healing Tides nurse practitioner Kelly Milot.
Please find a different PCP office that offers more professional all around care and connections with appropriate hospitals and specialists.
I would leave NO stars and even negative stars if possible, but yelp requires at least one.
Sincerely, T.Schumacher read more
