Biodynamically. Locally. Then, they pack up a ton of boxes and send them off to the Boston area, where you can pick up your box. Every week, from June to November, there is a box full of tasty, fresh, local veggies waiting for you. It can't be beat. They are really good with telling you what you are getting (this is particularly helpful for those who are not veggie geeks). They put out a newsletter each week telling you what is new on the farm, what new foods you will see in your box, and they even include recipes. Because now that you have a four-pound bok choy, you need to figure out what to do with it. If you live closer to the farm, you can pick up your food there, and you can stop by for all the pick your own goodies (strawberries, peas, flowers). We will definitely do this again and would recommend it to anyone!

I have to admit however that one of my main reasons for going is because they carry Ground Up flours. Ground Up is a local flour mill based in Holyoke, MA that doesn't use any kind of GMO or chemicals. This is the flour that my favorite bakery (Hungry Ghost Bread in Northampton) uses to make their delicacies. You can visually see and taste the difference in this flour. My mom who usually reacts badly to storebought gluten products has no issues whatsoever with this variety of flour. We used to think she was gluten intolerant but now we think it's probably whatever stuff they spray on wheat to keep bugs off that she's reacting too. But really, people shouldn't be consuming plants that have been sprayed by harsh chemicals or has been genetically modified which is another reason why I appreciate Dave's natural garden. People working there are really nice and help you with whatever you need.

The market is in a parking lot behind 50 Payson Avenue and during the summer it is open on Sundays from 10-2. There is plenty of parking on the streets that surround the market, or in the park across the street. It's a "Producer Focused" market, meaning that the vendors are expected to "grow, raise, produce, or create their products themselves, or they will provide unique products that represent other local farmers". There was live music on site which was a nice addition to the vendor booths that offered local vegetables, fruits, meats, seafood, dairy, eggs, grains, nuts, flowers, wine, herbs, crafts, clothing, and specialty products. We saw one food truck on site, from the Wicked Whisk.

We were hanging out in town and visited this farmer's market on a Sunday. They had a good variety…read moreof vendors and organizations set up. We stopped by an art booth which provided kids the opportunity to make a cool craft. It was a bird feeder using a cake cone and a string of Cheerios on a pipe cleaner to act as the holder. This was a very creative idea! The gal running the booth was great and she gave our little friend a bag of bird seed to place inside once we returned home. I also stopped by the Creme Bru.LA booth because I freaking love crème brûlée. I sampled 3/4 flavors: maple, earl grey, and sweet corn. All so tasty!
