Vendor choices include plenty of fruit and vegetable farmers, plus baked goods, grocery items, dog treats, ceramic tiles, flowers, seafood, honey, soaps, granola, coffee, spices and more. We picked up six apple cider donuts from Worcester's Crust Bake Shop and a bottle of fiery Black Sambal Indonesian Hot Sauce from Worcester's Bali Marle. I had a teeny tiny sample on a teeny tiny spoon and coughed for 30 seconds !!!!!! Can't wait to add some to my next stir fry. I now take my boys here every year. And I plan on continuing the tradition with them. Fond memories of penny candy, and apple dumplings with vanilla ice cream. And the merry -go-round and swings and those super fast and hot slides rofl. The beauty of the orchard and of course the tasty apples! They have their own cheese and fresh baked goods including different sized trays of their always good apple pie dumplings that you can buy to go or you can go to the building outside for refreshments and sit at the picnic tables. But be warned, the yellow jackets are everywhere. They don't tend to sting unless they have been irritated but it's hard to sit still when they are crawling on your foot or drink. Though I don't mind sharing, this isn't what I had in mind. But that's nature. You can always escape to your car to finish your refreshment s and head back out to check out their gift shop or antiques area! It's also a beautiful walk on the road at the orchard as well with gorgeous views of sunset and apple trees just before closing. They of course have many events for the public like book fairs, and festivals of all kinds so it's wise to follow their Facebook page! Brookfield orchard has been a family owned and operated business since 1918! I hope they continue to get the support they need to stay open. It truly is a nice place to go to spend a couple of hours and support a small business. Be sure to leave with some tasty apples, apple cider and those amazing apple dumplings! From flowers to soaps, vegetables to donuts, fruit to teas, knives to artisan creations, tie-dye…read moret-shirts to smoothies and chili dogs, the South Windsor Farmers Market has it all!! Set in the open Nevers Road Park, this market offers a variety local goods and a fun morning. When my friends and I walked over from nearby parking areas (which were plentiful and easy to get to), the smells of freshly cooked donuts from Faddy's Donut Shop and the sounds of a Grateful Dead tribute band met us. After grabbing some donuts, instead of sitting in the nice rest area set up near the band, we began down the line of stands. We found a little of everything we wanted and more!! We grabbed a couple slices of pie from Granny's Pie Factory, a brown butter dark chocolate chip cookie from LaBrioche Bakery, a couple of jars of homemade artisan teas from Whole Harmony, and a bouquet of freshly picked flowers from the Syme Family Farm. Shopping here can get a bit pricey, for example, a South Windsor Farmers Market tote bag was $5; however, you're supporting local businesses, many of which don't have storefronts. It's well worth chipping in a few extra bucks with the quality of the goods and the personal attention you receive at the stands. I would rather save my money and spend it here than at big chain stores that don't need it. Every vendor we went to, especially the individuals at the Syme Family Farm and the Whole Harmony stands, were extremely kind and helpful. The vendor of Whole Harmony allowed us to try a couple of teas he had out as well as the lavender lemonade (all of which were extremely delicious); he also told me how to properly steep the teas and gave me a loyalty card that offers a free jar after ten purchases. The vendors at the Syme Family Farm stand told me how they handpicked each flower, and wrapped up my bouquet--which was thoughtfully put together with care--and put it in a plastic baggie with wet paper towels around the stems to keep the flowers hydrated after I asked if they would be all right since we were not going directly home. I was very impressed by these two vendors' professionalism and kindness. The South Windsor Farmers Market is definitely a farmers market you need to check out!! It's open every Saturday in the morning (which is an extremely convenient and great time) from the middle of June until the middle of October. The organization running also has a list of what vendors will be there each week on a document on the website. You'll really enjoy every minute of being at this market, and you will undoubtedly find spectacular goods!!

I go there middle of the day not a lot going on, as other posts have noted the lady working the counter was cold and not very welcoming, no hello or how are you when I walked in. I politely said hi as she picked up the phone, no response even after she hung up from her phone call. I inquired about if they were organic bc there is a sign that says hormone free etc, she just blandly said no bc they give their cows grain, and that was the end of that. They have good products but it's hard to support local farms when the people working there seem to not give a shit about the people walking in the door. Number one rule of sales: sell the company, sell yourself, sell the product. She didn't do any of these things. The eggnog is pretty good, really thick, I like it. But they could work on their enthusiasm for their customers, and customer service hell even a smile would have been nice.
