The service here is not the best at all. I dropped off 6 jackets and was chard 70 for not one of them to have been fully cleaned. There was literally still food on one of them. He noticed and still charged for the cleaning. The man was not wearing a masking and coughing the entire transaction. Their card machine was not working and he kept swiping my card so I was charged the $70 three time out of my account. Then he ask for cash! Wow, I had a shirt that needed pressing immediately for an important business meeting at a film festival and Shatto Cleaners came through for me. I called several other places but they all shut down their machines at 3:00 but when I called them and explained to them my dire situation, not only did they not shut their machine down, but stopped what they were doing and pressed my shirt in 5 minutes, and on top of that, the guy on the phone misquoted me and said it was $5.50 when it was actually $6.50, the owner honored the $5.50 price and told me to keep the 50 cents change! first of all, this place is so overpriced. Second of all, I'm not sure if the guy is the owner or not. He gave the worst service ever today. I had my jacket sent there for dry cleaning and eventually he charged me 12 dollars for hem when I picked it up. He did text me if my jacket needed to be hemed but I pretty much told him no. When I showed him the text, he gave me this attitude and said "so you don't wanna pay?'" then tossed a ten dollar bill on the desk - no respect at all. I do understand people have their mood. I don't really know how to review a dry cleaner, but I can't object to Shatto Cleaners. I'm only giving them four stars because I don't really know what makes for a truly amazing dry cleaner, but I imagine it can be a bit more than this. While I live close enough to walk to Shatto Cleaners I can imagine their parking situation isn't too hot. So, um, one star off for that. And for not knocking my socks off. But what should I expect? Oh the agony of this star rating system. The pain. The responsibility. Were my clothes clean? Absolutely. Did they fix the zipper in the pants I've had sitting in my closet for two years thinking "I'll get this done some day?" Yup. Were they prompt? Probably, but I was too lazy to pick my clothes up at the pre-arranged time to tell. I imagine they were, though. Were they friendly? Very much so. And helpful. Expensive? Again, I don't really know if I'm educated when it comes to dry-cleaning, but I didn't feel like I was being charged anything I shouldn't have, so no. So, my friends, I'm quite happy with Shatto Cleaners. I recommend them if you're in the area of 4th and Vermont, or if your everyday travels take you along Vermont. read more

Kudos for the very nice owner BUT my laundry came back smelly :( Quite pricey for several items. I spent $100 and they send your laundry to your doorstep if you live around Ktown. But too bad my laundry came back either smells bad or no smell at all ( i prefer to have a fresh washed scent on my clothes ) Updated review : returned my smelly laundry and when i asked back the laundry to be delivered (i live at the vermont so its very close) they said they couldnt find my laundry. I was initially gonna send some rugs to them but after that i changed my mind. Finally after they found my laundry they asked me to come there and took the laundry ( i paid in total $200 after putting my laundry twice there ($100 each time) and the service is really disappointing. What's worse, one of the laundry that came back still smells and now i dont even wanna bother to go there anymore i will just find another laundry. Sorry shatto, but you just lost a very loyal customer that could bring lots of business to you :( definitely wont recommend this to my friends. read more

Owner said they can remove it but when I pick it up spots stiil there, even smells still little bit dirty. All 3 pairs of pants that I have had hemmed are falling apart and when asked to starch a shirt it never comes out looking freshly pressed. The final straw was when I asked for 3 items to be DRY CLEANED and when arriving the next day I found that they were pressed only, and STILL DIRTY!! I have been getting my dry cleaning done here for several years and with the exception of a few problems(missing belts, etc.) I have been satisfied. CUT TO: I bring in some drapes from my dining room that i simply want dry cleaned, They come back SHREDDED!!!!!!! I am talking completely ruined. I take them back to the store and they tell me that there had been some sun damage( slight discoloration) so I should have known that dry cleaning them would completely shred the fabric. Why on earth would i consent to dry cleaning something that would no longer be useable?!!!!!! They did not warn me of this and also did not offer to make it up to me in any way. Just stood there looking at me( a customer who has spent THOUSANDS of dollars there. I have a lot of dry cleaning) and said they thought i understood they would be ruined. Please explain how this makes sense. I will no longer do business with Shatto. I must now replace $1500 curtains. I was looking for a new cleaner in my neighborhood. I happened to be doing last min. errands before my wedding and realized my rehearsal dinner dress and honeymoon clothes needed to be cleaned. They quoted me two days but were able to get the whole order done over night. The people that helped me were so friendly and helpful.
