I've been going here for about 8-9 years and it was always a solid cleaners. They're friendly, do good alterations and decent dry cleaning. There was the occasional stain that they wouldn't be able to get out, but that comes with the territory. However, recently I brought in my custom tuxedo to be pressed for a wedding I needed it for. When I got home I noticed a strange iridescence on the lapel that wasn't there before. But I had to fly out of town for the wedding. In San Francisco I brought the tux jacket to a dry cleaner there to see if they could fix the issue. The dry cleaner took one look at the lapel and said that it had been burned when being pressed, nothing could be done to fix it and I should get reimbursed for a new jacket from the cleaners who did this. When I returned to Regency to explained what happened she accused me of lying about them being responsible for the burn on the jacket even tho they had the record of working on it weeks before. The jacket is still wearable so i just don't have the energy to fight them to reimburse me for a new tuxedo. But one would wish they would have taken extra care when pressing a tuxedo. I no longer trust them with my clothes and will be finding a new dry cleaners. I would not recommend you bring your clothes here either. read more

Avoid this place at all cost! Brought in 3 items: pair of pants to repair the zipper, a coat to clean and repair 4 buttons, a piece of fabric to cut and stitch. Pants were ok... but the coat was given back to me with one button undone and the piece of fabric was not done the right way AT ALL. I gave the lady a post-it with what I wanted (measurements etc...) and I got a pillow case back. I paid $62 for all of this!!! Insanely expensive. When I came back the next day to complain, she did not apologize. Although she fixed the button in 30 seconds after refusing to give me my money back. And she also refused to give me money back for the piece of fabric. TOTAL SCAM! I thought I found the worst tailor at happy shirt on sunset, but this place is as bad and as unprofessional. They do not treat their customers the way they should and they did not apologize at all. Will never go again. read more

I pre-paid them to have them hem 4 Pottery Barn Emery Linen Drapes and they completely destroyed them. I asked they take them up 4-inches and as you can see by the pics-they obviously didn't know how to do this professionally. Each drape cost over $100 and they refused to replace them or give me my money back. So this last visit to them cost my husband and me over $600 because we had to replace the drapes. To make matters even worse, Sophia (?) was extremely rude when I tried talking to her. Needless to say, I'll never recommend or ever go again despite me having been a loyal customer for almost ten years. I wonder if the previous owner (Jenny) would've handled it this poorly? read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I used to come here when I lived in echo park, I moved but my office is still here so I thought I'd give it a go again. They had 4 items of mine. When I went to pick up my clothes only pieces 3 came back. I asked her where the fourth was she said I need some more time because I'm trying to get a stain out come back in a few days. So I came back in a few days. She told me again can you give me a few more days I can't get the stain out. So I gave her actually an entire week. When I came back after a week, which was today she told me that she's lost it. It was a $200 silk shirt. She barely spoke English but told me that if I gave her a receipt she would give me store credit. I told her I did not want store credit because I won't be returning there. I then also asked her if she could show me the written policy where it says if she loses an item store credit is given. She told me there is no written policy. It was hard to understand her. But essentially I left without my blouse and down $200. Do not take your clothes here. Ever. read more

I have to say I was pretty disappointed with my recent experience here. I used to take my clothes here all the time years ago, but now I remember why I left. I had a few sweaters cleaned and when I put one on today it has a very musty smell ... like it smells worse than it did before they "cleaned" it. It's also ... not clean? still had remnants of dog hair and dirt on it. I spent $75 on about 7 items and I am not happy with the results. The worst part was that they do not wear masks until you walk inside and they put one on to ring you up. That did not feel very covid safe to me. Average price per item: $6.00 per item! expensive? Yes! But, I think this is the average price in la? After a long business trip with 16 items waiting to be dry cleaned and another business trip around the corner, I couldn't wait to take it back home to OC to get it to my trusty dry cleaner. I took a big risk with dropping all my items to them and, thank goodness, I wasn't disappointed. The clothes came back fresh, clean, no weird chemical smell and like new. They also hang the clothes with care! They padded the corner of the hanger so your jackets don't sag, which something I have no seen before from other dry cleaners. They also stuffed the sleeve of my jackets, which is for some kind of protection that I'm not sure of. Heck, if you're going to pay the money, you need to make sure they hang your clothes correctly right? The total bill came out to be $96.00, but I got a 10% off for being new customer. read more

This place is such a fantastic place! Not only they are superbly professional in their expertise, but also so very kindhearted and willingly helpful for their customers! I wasn't really satisfied with previous dry cleaning place, and started looking for a new one who could do a lot better than what I had to experience! It was a bit farther away from my apartment, yet decided to give a try! When I brought in some of my clothes with "impossible stains", they were welcoming for the challenging task, and willingly and heartily handling them! The result was so beyond perfect, and I was so satisfied! Not only they are so kind, but they are willing to go extra miles and to make accommodations for the customers! I heartily and sincerely recommend this place, although it may seem a bit slower due to COVID-19 and deadening impacts on many of the businesses everywhere! I have now tried to use regency cleaners twice both times I ended up walking out because of the lack of confidence they had in the jobs I was asking for them to do... a simple alteration job and helping to get a stain out of a dry clean only sweater. I took a variety of items to this establishment for over two years. Including my wedding dress - to get washed and pressed. I also took a skirt to get re-zippered. The results were great every single time. I have moved too far to benefit from their great services. I didn't realize that finding dry cleaners in our new town was going to be challenging. It is. I really miss this great little place. And more so when my husband's shirts are returned by other cleaners with shredded buttons and writing on the inner seams. Be careful with how they charge you. THEY CHANGE PRICES AFTER THEY HAND YOU A RECEIPT. I asked why the pricing is different and the woman who I think might be the owner will act like it's your fault. She was extremely rude and would not acknowledge the mistake. As a business they should honor what the receipt says. It's fine that there was a mistake, but don't punish the customer for it. I have been living in LA for half a year, I am very picky with dry cleaner, tried a few places and finally settled with Regency Cleaners. Until two months ago when I parked my car right in the front of the store, the lady in the dry cleaner saw that I had a nice car, ever since then she's been trying to rip me off! Charging me extra for whatever excuses she could find, whether was that my dress had thicker fabric (extra for tailoring) or my shirt was too delicate (extra caution to sew/hand sew) she always managed to find excuse to rip me off. I put up with her because I thought they were doing a good job and I didn't want to look for another dry cleaner again. BUT! Today, I walked in with a sleeveless top that had a little stain on, the Korean lady asked her staff to ring me up, she said something either in Korean or Spanish to the staff. The staff girl then said to me that she would have to charge me 12 dollars (or 16, I forget) for my shirt. I first asked her how much would a regular top cost, and the reason behind the it. She pointed at the Korean lady and said she told her to do so. To dry clean a regular top would be a little over 4 dollars! The reason of the extra charge was that my top had pleats on the bottom, and they would have to iron pleats one by one!? I have dry cleaned this top many times whether was in NYC or in Asia, no one had once asked me to pay extra (not only extra but triple the price) because of the pleats! WOW! Seriously!? I took my shirt back and left. How small business minded was she? I've always been so nice to her and thought she was nice. For that little extra money, was it worth it to lose a client forever? If you have a nice car, make sure to park far away so she doesn't try to charge you extra. Guess I will never go back to regency cleaner again. read more

I have to update this review, unfortunately. I brought a precious dress in for cleaning - one I have brought many times before. It was returned to me unwearable. The elastic on the waste was totally gone. When I went back in to show them the dress, far from not offering me an apology, they asked me to pay more money to have it fixed! I understand that the dress may have been fragile, but that is why I brought it in to a dry cleaner. If there was a risk that it would be ruined, I would obviously not have brought it in. I been going to this dry cleaner for years, the owner are Korean couple which is very nice but they went back to Korea for a very long time and still not coming back. Everything change since then, yesterday I went to pick up my clothes which I normally just give my phone numbers, since everything in the records. I drop off 23 pieces and all of my clothes are very expensive, the Korean lady said she can't find my records and said she remember that I didn't drop it off???!!!!!! I almost cried... it's was a lot of money and she just not gonna do anything about it??? She said if not in the records then they don't have it??!!! I ask her to double check, she said no way she can check it... she was rude and act like I was lying... So lucky one of her staff came and help me find my clothes which is hanged on one side of the store with wrong person name on it.... staff try to explain to that Korean lady and she still disagree to give me my clothes since it not my name.... Come here if you want them to "regular wash" your clothes you pay to get "dry cleaned". I had 2 pairs of 7 jeans ($225 each) and have only been dry cleaning these since I bought them and never had them shrink. I took them out the other night to wear and found both have shrunk about 2 inches on the waist and no longer fit. I brough this up to their attention and they began to bullshit me. After so many years in business they have learned the art of lying to save their ass from any sort of financial loss. They also had the nerve start pulling excuses out of their ass as if they wanted to see what one I would be ok with... 1. They first said I've gained weight and measured my waist (they dont even know me or see me that often to even know). He told me I had gained weight?!? WTF!!!! 2. Owner then measured my jeans waist circumfrence 3. Then he blamed the clothes and told me to call the manufacture of my clothes. WTF!!!! This cleaners was GREAT until they weren't. When things are operating as they should they are sooo friendly and the presentation of cleaned garments is done very well. However... At one point they lost a shirt of mine. It seems they gave it away to someone else. They told me just to wait and hopefully someone will return it. Luckily, shortly after someone did. But then some time after I go to pick up a suit of mine. It was 3 days after the scheduled pickup and I needed it that night. Not only was it not ready but it was not ready because the crotch in the pants was completely ripped out. First the owner tried to say I dropped it off that way and I reminded him that he was one that actually accepted the suit. Then he said that the material was weak and that this sometimes happens. It was a suit less than 2 years old, a high quality suit, a suit I've worn half a dozen times, and had only been dry cleaned once. He said he would try and fix it. Then they wouldn't let me take all my other garments without first paying for the suit that they had destroyed and I still wouldn't be getting. They actually moved all my clothes from the front to the back when I asked if they were really going to charge me for the suit I wasn't able to take home. I paid as I needed my other clothes. The fix they did looked ok until I wore the suit the first time after and it ripped at the new seams they created in their "fix". I REALLY liked this place. Let's start by making one thing clear. I'm "that guy." The one that sprays champagne in a crowded restaurant to lighten the mood. The one that will make a sommelier slap-the-bag for me at a formal function. The one who thinks he can dance after double digit whiskey-sodas. So when I was at my best friends wedding, in the Sardinian countryside, far from the eyes of employers and social media, I completely destroyed my suit. The shirt was no longer white but a Rastafarian flag of yellow sweat, red wine, and green grass. The jackets lining was torn, and the pants had blue paint (??) on the leg. I chalked em up as a loss, tossed em in my suitcase to sit out the rest of the trip. Now, I did not expect big things, but regency cleaners has restored my clothing to what I can only describe as original condition. Regency Cleaners is holding my brand-new blouse hostage! They tried to pull a fast one on me because when I picked up the blouse with a bunch of other stuff, I didn't notice til I got home that they replaced ALL the buttons with completely different looking buttons! It is a navy blouse, and it originally had dark navy buttons, but they put fake pearl buttons on it, which stand out a lot and make it look grandma! What most irritated me was that they didn't even tell me when I picked the shirt up, or call me when they ruined the buttons to ask me what I wanted to do. I went back and confronted them about it and they confessed to ruining the buttons, so they said they would try to find something similar to the old buttons (thankfully, I had kept a sample button from the shirt and showed it to them!). But that was over a month ago. I need some kind of compensation here for my missing blouse. OTHER THAN THAT, this place had previously been awesome. It was worth the drive out because prices are so reasonable and they usually did a good job with great service. Even if she was a domineering evil ice princess, I'd still give them five stars. I took four wedding dresses here, one of them twice (after I wore mine). I bought my dress off the rack (it was my dream dress, and it was being discontinued). They kept it for over a month.. each time I came in, they explained.. I'm still working on it.. show me the areas where they felt it was still "dingy". To my eyes, it was clean.. but to their standards.. not yet. And I got my friend's dress boxed here. It was immaculate, beautiful. They put the dress in this huge box with a window. They have cleaned it, pressed it, and it sparkled thru the window of the box. I took my white jacket here after taking it to a dry cleaners closer to work.. That cleaners said.. "it's a rust stain.. can't get it off" and charged me anyway for a failed attempt. BUT then I took it to Regency Cleaners, and voila.. like magic! Regency took it off no problem. Everytime I bring my stuff here, I always feel grateful that they're there. I wish every business was run the way that Regency is run. My boyfriend and I have been going here for a while now and the owners literally treat us like we're family. Every time we come to drop off or pick up our clothes, the wife gives us huge hugs and the husband comes out to say hello. As people and business owners, they are incredibly lovely and I would probably give them my business based on their personalities alone. But whoa! The service! Several times, we've brought items to them with tough stains (the kind of stains that have been there for many years and have gone to many dry cleaners and still refuse to come out). When we come to pick the clothes up, the husband asks us for a few extra days to work on the stains---he always thinks he can get them out if he has a little extra time...and he's right. They are miracle workers. Plus, they are cheap. Amazing service, amazing prices, amazing people. I have been coming to Regency Cleaners for two years now. I recently moved downtown and the cleaners were horrible so I make the extra drive out so I can use Regency again. You can't beat the customer service. All my clothes come back perfect and in a timely manner. I have also used the tailor several times and she hems all my pants perfectly. Regency really came through on my wedding day. My dress came back from my fitter flat and unfluffed. The owner took my dress in and SAME DAY had it steamed, fluffed and wrapped for pick up in several hours. That is true, friendly service. I believe Regency is a family run operation and they are so nice you just want to give them a hug every time you step through the door (esp the wife because she is incredibly warm and friendly. But don't because that would be weird). During the holidays they were giving out this holiday themed lint roller that came in a little baggy. What a thoughtful gesture wouldn't you agree? I don't know what it was about that lint roller but it just warms my heart every time I run it over a cardigan or two. Maybe I need therapy. Anyway moving on.. They can get your clothes back to you in 1-2 days if its a rush, there's parking out front, and although Regency isn't cheapest I've come across (that title goes to this fantastic dry cleaner in the city of Downey that deserves 6 stars for price alone), Regency is still very affordable and reasonable vs. what you'll find around these parts. read more

I've come here twice: once to get a jacket dry cleaned and another time to get two dress shirts altered. I don't remember how much the jacket cost but the shirt alterations were $25/shirt (I had the sleeves shortened a bit). They did a good job on everything. As other reviewers mentioned, service is super friendly. The only knock against them is they use perchloroethylene. I'll probably come back if I need alterations done but I'll take my clothes to a non-toxic cleaner for dry cleaning. read more

I stopped using their services after 2 years. Reasons: - 6 months ago, one of my shirts had bleached spots on it. The owners had claimed I somehow stained it. I've only taken my shirts to their place for cleaning. After some arguments, they agreed on a $45 refund. - within the last 2 months, 3 of my shirts, all of them not older than a year, have had their collar torn on the edge. I've come here five times already, had a great experience for all of them! The first time I came was to get my wedding dress steamed prior to my wedding. For steaming only, it came out to $80 but that was for a pretty extensive complicated lace dress with multiple layers. I then decided to take my chinese wedding qipao here as well to see if they could alter it. They did an amazing job with the alterations, basically a full body fit (every part needed to be altered). I've been bringing my husband's and my clothes here as well to be dry cleaned. They really do a great job! The prices are really reasonable and turnaround is fast. They do launder-only as well, which comes out to $2.50 per shirt (my ironing always looks like a disaster). I still have my wedding dress there post-event to be cleaned and preserved. It's taking a little longer than expected, they say it's because they're waiting for the box to preserve it in. They asked for about $140, which I thought was reasonable. We'll see when I pick it up! The husband & wife team that run Regency are the NICEST business owners I have ever encountered, and not in a cheesy sort of way. They are always so genuinely happy that you have patronized their establishment. The wife will often show this gratitude via hugging customers. The fact that they appreciate your business makes you want to keep coming back. Over the last several months, I haven't had any issues with dry cleaned or laundered items. I cannot recall their exact pricing, but it is very fair for the service level they provide. The turnaround time seems reasonable to me; I can usually pick something up on Friday if I drop it off on Tuesday. I already have a preferred spot for alterations so I have no comment there. I really don't like writing a negative review of such nice people! First off I have to confess: I'm a sweaty girl. When I take my clothes to be cleaned, its because they smell. I came to Regency after reading all of these wonderful rave reviews and felt I had made a good choice based on that and the kindness of the owners--who operate their own plant. When I picked up my clothes from Regency they looked great and were perfectly pressed, individually placed in separate garment bags. BUT, as I discovered in a rather embarrassing situation, they still smelled dirty. Good news: By far THE NICEST people you can ever hope to find at a dry cleaner. Clothes were nicely pressed and presented to me. Bad news: Clothes looked but did NOT smell clean. Like, at all. Also, I made sure to point out that some of my garments were very special and old--we're talking 1930s silk dress old--and one of them came back to me damaged--ripped/pulled seams and a fabric tear. I really don't understand the positive reviews for this place. I would give zero stars if I could. Perhaps the dry-cleaning part of the service from this place is good, but i'd suggest you to NEVER COME HERE FOR TAILORING. Brought in a top for tailoring last Thursday. Was quoted $14 and told it would be ready in 2 days (the date, time & quoted price were also printed on their receipt). I was told that if there were any change, I would get a phone call. Today... 5 days has gone by and no phone call. I thought it was done smoothly so I went to pick up my shirt with my receipt. The Korean lady first could not remember which shirt it was. When she finally pulled it up, nothing had been done. Her response? No apology but excuses about how the job was harder than she thought, so it's actually $18 if I still want it done. I said I understand that things come up, but a phone call would have been nice especially after so many days. $4 difference wasn't a big deal but I really needed this to be done on time. Instead of offering to rush it for me, she told me "there is nothing I can do now so what do you want?" ...what do I want? An apology would have been nice. Dear Korean lady: If you forgot to work on a case, just admit it. Don't make up some story about how the tailoring is more difficult than you thought, miss the deadline and randomly raise the price. If you haven't even started working on it, what makes you think the job is harder than you had anticipated? An Asian guy finally walked out to apologize for her. This time he said their machine was broken (but why do I have to pay extra then?) He offered half off for my next dry-cleaning. I can't stand this customer service and the lady's horrible personality again, so no thank you. So bottom line: come here for tailoring if you want to 1) get the job done late (you are lucky if it's ever done at all) 2) pay extra for no reason, and 3) be treated like crap ps. The former owner, miss Jenny, was a delight. She was honest, hardworking, consistent and kind. I was a regular customer. Now there is a rude new owner who assured me Jenny was coming back. She then charged me $90 to hem and take in two garments that I previously would have been charged about $20 for. I returned, hoping she'd remember me and not try to screw me over again, but no such luck. She quoted me $35 for hemming a cotton skirt.
