Universal Windows Direct of Atlanta - 4 lite sliding glass door in the place of 3 windows

Universal Windows Direct of Atlanta

I had a fantastic experience working with Universal Windows Direct. We had six windows to replace…read more(which met their minimum) and the owner Eugeniy responded to my Yelp request quickly, scheduled my consultation for the same week, and was responsive through every step. The sales person Charlie met with me and took the appropriate measurements, was respectful of my time, and gave us plenty of options. Their professionalism was what sold me on the company--they were not trying to upsell me, or overcharge like other companies would (one other company gave us a 3 hour sales pitch and quoted 20k for the same six windows). Universal gave us a reasonable price and didn't take up unnecessary time. Eugeniy personally ordered the windows to the custom measurements, and when they arrived he brought one to store so that it wouldn't be damaged in transit. He had recommended that we install a new window in our exit door and it was the right call--that entire area looks much improved! The installers were prompt, professional, and the end result was clean, precise, and expertly done. Eugeniy himself came to check the quality of their work and made sure it was done to his standard before receiving the final payment. It is difficult to know who to trust with these projects--if you're looking for knowledgeable professionals who will meet your budgetary and time constraints, with great communication this is the company you want to go with. We will definitely be back in the future for other windows in our home!

We could not be any happier with UWD of Atlanta. We always get 3 quotes for any major renovation…read moreand their quote saved us over 10k from the next closest estimate. Charlie showed us different options of things that we could do to save money without changing the footprint. Eugeniy kept us informed on the timeline as the windows were being made and then as the installation crew were installing. The installation crew were very tidy, professional and had all 32 windows installed in 2 days. Eugeniy stopped by to inspect the work. Completely seamless for us and by far our easiest home renovation project. I highly recommend Universal Windows Direct Of Atlanta.

Our company vehicle got a cracked windshield after going north on I-575 one morning early…read moreApril-2018. At first I thought it would be okay but it begin to spread pretty quickly as you can see in the photos. My first call was to Safelite because well they're the only company that I've heard of in this space. I got an automated answer where they asked me to push #1 for this and #2 for that. After about 12 minutes I finally got an live person that told me they estimate my repair to be close to $1,000 and they weren't sure when they could come out to look at the windshield. So I decided to call someone local..I went to google and found a couple of guys. The first one didn't speak didn't speak English. The next one was an answering machine....how am I doing so far? Finally I moved down the list and found Glass man. Not only did they pick up after the second ring...there was a real person! Tah dah! The owner was super helpful and we were able to set up an appointed time and in less than an hour....it was done! They were super professional and were very up front about the cost. They didn't try to sell me unnecessary services or play games with the price. The price I got on the phone was the same price I got on my invoice! My fee was 70% less than what Safelite would have charged and it was quick and painless....wish Glass Man could do all my auto repair. Thanks Glass Man!

Atlanta Area Window & Door - gap between the sweep and the floor. this was later fixed after a second contractor intervened.

We…read morejust received our gas bill for the first full month after the window installation and it is $75 less than the previous month's bill. Also, during the month of February we also switched from an electric stove to a gas stove so that added to our gas usage and we still saved $75 the very first month. Our electric bill was also a good bit lower. It will be interesting to see our electricity savings this summer when the a/c is on. When you compare the 4.034 therms per day prior to the new windows being installed to 1.838 therms per day after, you can see that we are now using less than half the gas therms, even with now cooking with gas instead of electric. Even with this savings, it will still take many years to recoup the cost of the window purchase BUT the comfort of not having a drafty house is also a huge benefit to my family. The other thing that we have noticed is that the road noise is significantly less. We live on a four lane divided highway with lots of traffic. Other than the loudest mufflers and big trucks we no longer hear the majority of the traffic unless the roads are wet and even then it is subdued from the previous level with single pane windows. The team at Atlanta Area Windows and Door were great from Mark to Walt to the installers. It was a seamless operation. I would highly recommend their company.

I have used Atlanta Area Window & Door 2 times for front door installation at two different…read moreproperty locations. The first time, I'd give them a 5 star. But the second time, I'm giving them a 3 star. I don't have much to say about the first experience since I thought that they did a great job that I hired them for the second job. However, the second job was riddled with issues and heartache. I shopped for quotes from different companies and I awarded the job to Mark and his team. The reason I award the job to Mark is not due to the price but due to the thoughtful and experienced comments he made and when he addressed my questions. I thought that this guy was someone who care and was not in the job just for the money. However, Mark is not the one that actually does the door install. He had a different team install the door and that would be fine as long as there were no issues with the door install. But there were issues. The installation team are great people - someone you could grab a beer with and chat. But they lacked the problem solving and attitude of someone who owned their own business. Issue #1: After the door was installed, the door did not close well. I had to push extra hard to get the door to shut. I asked the installer if there is something he can do to fix that. He did what he can on installation day (took an entire day to install and they worked past 5pm) and had to come back on a different day. On the second day, they made some changes to the door sweep. This made the door close better. However, this created an issue with a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. While walking outside at night, I saw streams of light shining from under the front door. This allowed insects to enter my house. I brought this to Mark's attention and asked him not to send the same crew to fix the issue because the installation guy had already told me that he did everything he can. Mark was able to ask another guy to come and fix the issue. The new guy showed up and fixed the issue within 30 mins or less. This guy owned his own door installation business and does the door install himself. During the whole ordeal, Mark showed up on day one to supervise and ensure everything was on track but he did not attempt to remedy the work himself. Issue #2: I paid the original door installers $xx (i forgot the amount) in cash to install a nest doorbell. The doorbell was installed but did not work because a transformer was required and they do not install transformers. I had to pay a separate guy to install the transformer. In hindsight, I would should have paid a separate guy to install doorbell who can also install a transformer if needed. This was probably my fault but I felt like I paid for something that didn't solve my problem. Issue #3: 1-2 months after the door was installed, i noticed that pads at the foot of the door had ripped. I asked Mark to fix and his response was that he would send some pads in the mail for me to fix myself. It's been a month and I haven't seen any pads in my mailbox. I paid almost $6K for doorframe and door (which i still have to paint myself). For this amount of money I was expecting a better streamlined, worry-free experience.

I received a called from a gentleman from pinnacle later in the evening after an morning email dialogue with a person from pinnacle. As we began to work out scheduling, he asked me if my wife was going to be around for the appointment and I said no, due to the fact that she would be on assignment in California. And not only that, the home is in my name solely. He proceeds to get nasty with me, tells me, "I likes getting a check so if your wife will be there then I'm going to cancel the appointment" and he hung up on me. I was dumbfounded. But what he didn't realize is that I had the phone on speaker due to the fact I was taking my Wife to the airport. My wife and my Aunt heard every word he said and they were just as dumbfounded. Pinnacle really screen who they have calling and setting up appointments because this call was totally unprofessional. Well, there are Plenty of great window companies to replace my 23 windows. On to the next one.
