Glass World - Windows Installation Near Me

I reached out to The Glass World Inc in the first week of May 2022 to replace the glass on three windows. They took measurements for the glass as well as a window that I wanted to replace entirely because the frame was damaged. I asked them for a quote for the job and was told they would send it to me. However, I never received the quote. I called them and was told they could not find the size of my window. I informed them that there are numerous companies that can customize windows and that they should contact them. They told me that they were busy with lots of work. I asked them to move forward with replacing the glass for the other windows. At this point, we are in the month of July. They went to install the glass, but the glass wouldn't fit because the measurements that they previously took were incorrect. Then, they told me what happened and provided me with a date to come back to the property to replace the glass. However, they did not show up and did not call me the day before to confirm the appointment. I called them to inquire what happened and was told something happened on their way to the property. I confronted them about this lie because they did not confirm whether the technician was coming to the property and they did not believe they had planned to come to the property on the scheduled date. After discussions, we agreed on a date for the technician to come out at the end of July. However, the glass did not fit again. At this point, they boarded up the place and told me they would come back with the right size for the glass. They finally replaced the glass on August 2. Back in April or May, they replaced the glass in a window, and it cannot be opened properly. Why would you install glass in a window that cannot be opened freely after the installation? They do not care about customer service. They just want to make money regardless of the quality of the work. They have a lady in that company who is beyond rude, disrespectful, ridiculous, doesn't take responsibility, and cares nothing about customer service. I would not recommend them to service needs because my experience was just horrible, especially with that rude lady who acknowledged that she was being disrespectful to me because my order was taking them too long to complete. I rarely share my experiences with companies that have provided me with services. Please find a different company if you need the service that they provide because I do not want you to repeat my experience. read more

I called this company after reading some good reviews on here. I spoke with Jerry and was excited to speak with him since he'd been spoken highly of on the reviews. However, he asked me several questions that could have just been answered by coming in person to do an estimate. He's the only business I called that asked so many questions instead of just booking a date to come out. To put the icing on the cake, after questioning me, having me take my own measurements and pictures to send to him all while we were on the phone for a total of 15 minutes, he told me he'd call back in a few days with an estimate for me. He seemed excited about the fact that a few neighbors were interested so it would bring him some good business. But...he never called back. This company is excessively difficult to work with, and definitely by no means "Gem" as others have described.We had a large job lined up for him and his installer over 35 window panes. Things I experienced were: -No call, No show, No voicemail. I had to miss work Twice just to meet up with them, they wanted another look at it all before the install. I don't know maybe this is normal to have 3 + looks at the job before agreeing to the work? -Excessive back and fourth about whether they could even do the window pane replacement. Even after the installer bragged about doing windows at the property in the past. -Changing prices. Despite confirming the highest possible rate, coupled with the installer having worked on the same windows in the past. I was told after 2 weeks of back and fourth that they were going to charge 50% more, but had no real reasons as to why. Very fishy, and frustrating. -Very unprofessional demeanor when it came to being organized and honest. After two weeks of back and fourth communication with no results, I told Jerry that I felt as though I was getting the run around. His reply WORD for WORD was " Well if you feel that way then find someone else to do the job". So much time and frustration wasted. It's time for him to hang his hat and enjoy retirement. read more

We needed a glass shower enclosure for our master bath remodel and we couldn't be more pleased with the end product. Jerry and his installer were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Yes, they did request measurements from us in order to provide an initial quote, but this is standard practice. Once they did come out to measure, Jerry was super detail oriented and took extra care to design the enclosure in such a way as to compensate for a minor irregularity in our tub surround. Jerry is the owner and even though he was friendly. I did my homework and noticed his company was NOT registered under the Secretary of State. When I asked him, he stated he recently registered last month (June) which was a red flag. I asked him to quote me a price and he did with the measurements he asked me to provide him. It wasn't a formal quote it was a drawing of the shower along with measurements. At that point I didn't feel warm and fuzzy inside after seeing this I made my decision I would go elsewhere. I kept asking questions, asked him if he had an office, he stated he worked out of his home, I asked him why the 3 year warranty wasn't written in the quote and he simply replied and said I should go elsewhere to get my shower done. BE AWARE, this guy doesn't seem legit. Glass world still is NOT a REGISTERED name, be careful! Its hard to go after someone you can't Locate! Especially when they want 50% DOWN UPFRONT!! read more

Had a really large double paned window replaced for my shop that the glass was originally from 1977 - we chose the color as it was tinted and it was dead on!. Special ordered at a very fair price. Guys were on time, and if there was any kind of an issue it would have been because I had spray aluminum going on the roof at the same time they were installing the new window....timing is everything and as luck would have it due to weather conditions both were done at the exact same time! After having a hard time finding a live voice to either answer the phone or email me back, I was pleased to hear a pleasant and professional voice answer and come to my rescue. Glass World to the rescue! Professional, affordable, and quality work (remember I had to replace 30 panels of glass - 15 double hung windows & their 15 storm panels, so when I say "affordable" it means affordable!). I have nothing but good things to say about these folks. I needed to have my passenger side window replaced after it was broken. I checked up on Yelp and the only reviews I saw didn't have photos and the people who reviewed the glass place only reviewed that and nowhere else so I was hesitant and I just called a bunch of places after a google search. Glass World seemed good because they are Candler Road and I live in East Lake. I called at least 7 places and Glass World beat the price of everyone else by at least $100. I run a wholesale warehouse and the day that I needed my window repaired I had a client in the warehouse so I didn't know when I could get to them It was Friday and I was only able to get to them right when they closed. Wally (I think was his name) met me after hours in their parking lot, it was legit, and did the window for me within 30 minutes. Vacuumed out the glass from inside my car for me too. I recommend these people to anyone any time. I was really impressed. I honestly have no idea how they do it so cheap or why when their service is so good. read more

Jerry was great! First of all, we really enjoyed his company and like him as a person. That is always a plus when people are working in your home. He listened to our very detailed and very particular requests and made everything just as we wanted. One item was damaged and Jerry took the time to purchase and install a new one. I used Glass World to install custom frameless shower doors in my master bathroom. The doors were so much more custom than we planned, because of the shape of our rennovated shower. I called several (5) companies to come give quotes. None of them took to time to make solution suggestions like Glass World did. We ended up with a better (more beautiful and functional) "design" and less expensive (by hundreds of dollars) than all of the others! Also, Glass World returned my phone calls, answered my questions and arrived exactly when he said he would. I had a terrific experience. I will definately use Glass World next time. read more

My husband and I were looking for a good deal on a frameless shower door for our master bathroom. We called about 5 places and had 3 different companies provide estimates. Glass World was not only the one with the lowest quote (by several hundreds) but the nicest one. Jerry came out later in a day when it was most convenient for us. The other companies had us break the work day or work remotely so that they could take measurements and then ended up coming in earlier or later than agreed making things just a bit harder. Glass World was super fast in not only providing the quote but in delivering and installing the shower door.Within 9 days we had measurements, quote and installation done He made a few suggestions to ensure what we decided was the most functional and offered to come up and make a few adjustments if things didn't work out as we expected. After about a week of using the shower we just had to call to tell Jerry the door was awesome and as he stated no water was coming out from the sides and the steam cleared up pretty quick. Most of the renovation work was done by my husband but if we ever have to do another bathroom remodel we are definitely calling Glass World back for any glass work.
