There was so much for the kids to enjoy, from checking out the animals and jumping on the gigantic trampoline to exploring the kid-sized corn maze and playing on the playground! They even had an ice cream shop and a farm store, which were great additions. Overall, it was a wonderful fall outing with something for everyone. I get that they have maintenance and operating costs, but the pumpkins alone cost 85¢ a pound to pick, and the admission is now over $18 a head. Again, they have expenses. But this year they ruined the entire layout of the farm. It used to be the pick-your-own fields, hay ride, corn maze and store were on one side of the road, and the petting zoo and food trucks were across the road. Now that second field is empty and everything is crammed on one side of the road. They entirely lost the farm feel and it's like being at some town festival with hundreds of people crammed in, all on one half of the farm. Time to find somewhere else. It's a shame, they ruined a great layout.

We've passed this place often, but my wife and I finally had an opportunity to stop in this week. Being naturally drawn to sweets, the pies and the cakes were the first things we looked at. What an amazing selection! If you like pies, that alone is enough reason to come here. Since it's almost Fall, we bought a pumpkin cream cheese roll. It was absolutely amazing! We also picked up a couple of apple cinnamon scones for breakfast the next morning. We have friends who say the tomatoes here are the best around, and that's saying something since we know all the places with great NJ tomatoes! It's late in the season their playground is laughable and the amount of money we had to pay to enter to access said lackluster activities, and then the cost of apples and pumpkins are astronomical and sincerely not worth it. As I entered the shop, I noticed some fresh apple cider and freshly made pies (as well as fruit, fruits and vegetables, and preserves.) I got some apple cider and a peach pie to go!! The staff was very, very delightful engaging. Very welcoming. I enjoy drinking my ice cold apple cider whilst driving home. Very delicious and refreshing. I would definitely come back! After checking out the plants and garden items outdoors, we decided to go inside to look at the produce and merchandise located in the shop. My husband loves cherries, and I thought we might purchase one of the two remaining pints that was all they had. Unfortunately I saw that several cherries were moldy on the top of both pints. I pointed it out to the lady working there, who said that she just sorted them that morning and didn't notice any problems. I then walked over to the tomatoes, a favorite of mine, and picked up several which was also moldy on the stems!! Obviously they are still trying to sell older fruits and vegetables and didn't have the turnover when fresh. The only thing I knew couldn't spoil was the flavored honey sticks, and I purchased three for a dollar. Quite a disappointment and we won't visit them again.

I tagged a handful of farms to visit to buy different produce and meats and what ever else folks offered and this place did not disappoint. We had an hour before heading down @Cabbagethrowfarm as they open at 2 pm so, we stopped @countryfreshfarm to meet Sheri and the hard working staff filling vegetable bins, washing buckets, re-arranging merchandise and making sure the products were ready for the Friday afternoon customers. The free parking lot adjoins the property and beyond there are a myriad of merchandise strewn along the outside of the building to buy from wooden benches, Cowboy boot bird houses, garden carts, flag holders, plants and a separate shed/room full of decorative indoor/outdoor plaques, signs, trays, pictures of Highland cows (my fave) and candles, country kitschy items for every personal style. Everyone was helpful, engaging, shared some info about where certain items were sourced and how they came about selling their items. I purchased a loaf of Amish cheese bread (I'll review that later), some sweet corn, tomatoes and the succulent cantaloupe that I cut up that night and absolutely sweet and ripe. (No comparison to the methane sprayed supermarket melons which are hard and never ripen to their potential sweetness!) There is a play area for the children plus a corn table to occupy them. As the weather gets cooler, we'll return to see what FALL weather offers us.

I never got a call, my check got cashed and multiple phone calls went unanswered, and I never got the material that I paid for. All I can say is that the customer service is deplorable. They must have needed my $53.00 really badly, just such bad business practice.

Get super high quality locally produced and exotic meat. If your not about making your own food from scratch, visit the Polish or Italian specialty tents where you can buy fully prepared meals that just need to be cooked. For instant gratification, get food from the trucks including empanadas. There is the most delicious pickles and olives, fresh baked goods, artisan chocolates and more. He explained that the farm is certified organic which was great to hear, and to our surprise, their prices were super affordable! I even picked up a bar of lemongrass & lavender soap while I was there. Ruth rang us up and answered any other questions that we had, and an itemized receipt was then emailed to me. We expect to return very soon to restock on our seasonal goods. They are open every day (M-F 2pm-6pm, S-S 10a-4p). Bring a tote bag, or you can purchase one there.
