But that was almost like three decade ago so I'm pretty sure things changed since then. Like any school, the experience here will vary based on some preference. They have a decent size play area toward the back with jungle gym for kids, basketball court and grass area too. The parking here is all street parking but it's usually not bad. I have a couple of friends who also used to go to this school as well and some didn't like it. My wife and I like to walk around the school during the daytime or evening but never when it's pitch black due to safety concern. You just have to watch out for dog droppings here because some people don't pick it up when they are walking their dog.

They are usually a mix class and when they have a Christmas recital or a class dance they are put with there class obviously which is okay but , my kid is in 4th grade class and was put with the regular 4th grade class which is okay but they don't include them ! In the Christmas recital and international dance they where put in the back corner and if the class/ group has a coordinated shirt or dress code they do not include them and they look excluded which is not fair and not OKAY FOR THEM TO DO ! THEY SHOULD BE INCLUDED AND TREATED WITH THE REST OF THE CLASS!!

NO CATS ARE BEING HARMED OR TRAPPED AT LIGGETT ST ELEMENTARY…read more This story is full of misinformation and false accusations. No cats are trapped inside the school and no cats are being abused by staff. There is a large number of feral cats on the campus. There is one building that the cats were going underneath that access had been blocked. That building is used by the school's youngest students who are also developmentally disabled. The cats have urinated and defecated all over these student's playground equipment. The school has instructed the students to not approach the cats and will not tolerate any abuse of these animals. The principal's main priority is the safety of the students. There are tin cans of cat food being slid under the fence of the school directly onto the developmentally disabled children's playground, which is a major safety concern, and the staff are removing the cans immediately when found. The barriers preventing access to underneath the building(s) that were destroyed by misinformed vandals were replaced with reinforced material that would be extremely difficult to remove, and cameras installed to monitor the access points. No cats are trapped under any buildings, and the school, like the people posting here just want the cats removed. Removing the cats and immediately releasing them into to the surrounding neighborhood is not a solution, as the cats will just come back. These feral cats and the students of the school cannot coexist on the campus as it is an obvious safety issue. The school and the district hiring a private firm to remove the cats and bring them to an animal shelter is the only viable solution. No one is harming the animals at the school and the photo of the injured cat, which is a sad and horrible image isn't proof of any wrongdoing by anyone working at the school. Someone living by the school has stated they will be photographing and videotaping the school all day "to monitor the situation" An adult taking video and photos of young children at school is extremely troublesome, even if they claim its being done out of concern for the cats. The bottom-line is, there are no cats trapped at the school under any buildings and no cats are being harmed by staff. but the school is not a cat sanctuary, and these cats must be removed for the safety of the students.

What I have appreciated the most from this school, is that they don't tolerate bullying. I admire and appreciate this. Waging peace. Also, when something goes wrong, they take action and go on to communicate with parents about the situation and how its being handled. This school has my respect and trust. I have reassurance that every student matters to the school. How beautiful! Also, my daughter is the happiest she's ever been and I thank you Saint Gen for giving her the tranquility and the feeling of belonging we longed for. This school is unique. I appreciate all your hard work to make each child feel safe and like they belong. May god bless this school now and always. Thank you for everything!

Ms Sanders is a great teacher. My child has thrived after being in her class. The school as a whole is wonderful the staff knows our child and is very attentive. Truly it is a small net community but very diverse. They learn how to present and read, math, and write with some grammar by Kinder. Very impressed, parents its a family effort, so if you are willing to support your child with the homework, that is fantastic, if not daycare has your back for daily HW. I am looking forward to culturing my childs growth with St. Genevieve.
