The doctor that I saw at Columbia-Presbyterian Dermatology was great, but I overheard this very…read moreloud conversation between two doctors while I was sitting in the waiting room: Older male doctor: I had a patient come in today who has 13 children. Older female doctor (with bad hair dye job): What were they Catholics? Older male doctor and Older woman doctor (with bad hair dye job): hahahahahahahahahaha! Then they continued to discuss the details of the patient's health until a woman in the crowded waiting room finally yelled out "doctor-patient confidentiality!" At this point they looked dismissively at the woman and moved away. This is something that they don't tell you in all of those Columbia Presbyterian testimonial ads that they run on PBS. In fact, I have a script that they can use if they would like to record a new testimonial ad to run on PBS: Ed Koch: When I was treated at New York Columbia-Presbyterian I got the best care possible. I'm sure that had nothing to do with the fact that was wealthy, the former mayor of New York, or famous. They sure as hell never discussed my medical issues in front of a room full of strangers. If you are a nobody, a Catholic, have a lot of children, or just like to see people treated respectfully when they are sick, you can always go down to St. Vincent's and get treated there. Oh, wait. They're closed. Guess you're screwed. (Then fade to black and show the hospital logo).

Dr Geskin was and is VERY nice to me. She was pleasant and caring at each visit. She knew I was…read morescared with my lymphoma diagnosis and she comforted me, reassured me, and gave me hope. She is also quick to respond when I reach out to her via the patient portal. I have nothing but complete confidence in her and her team!
