The food is wonderful. We always get the buffet. The staff is gracious. We have been here many times. It is my favorite restaurant in the area.

I stopped at Sharma's to give my boyfriend a good Indian food experience. It was fun watching him enjoy and explore the flavors. The owners are complementary and work the restaurant. The food was fresh and hot, full of flavor. We had vegetable samosas, chicken malai kebab, basmati rice, chicken makhani, garlic naan, mix grill, and gulab jamun. So delicious! He wants to go back soon!

Stopped by here during a long drive and it was pretty good! Tasted authentic and homemade. The server was very friendly and offered great service. Also ordered Aloo Tikki for the starter and it tasted really good too. Had a mango lassi in the beginning which was well made.

I've been dying to try this place!! The food is very good. Everything is so flavorful. I LOVED the garlic naan. The ambiance is a little strange. I feel like it's too plain and there was no music playing so you can literally hear everyone's conversation. I also wish there were other dessert items. Something lighter would have been good because they were all too sweet. Overall, everything was delicious but definitely on the heavy side. I would say this is a restaurant is a nice treat once every few months or so. For those that are health conscious, this isn't the restaurant for you lol.

To the owners: be accountable, be responsible and be responsive.

When I used to visit LaLa in 2012-2016, making trips from IU to see my best friend, we never got…read moreIndian food. That was mostly because we knew the best Indian food was made in our houses, but also because there wasn't anything great to try. When I visited my cousin, an undergraduate at Purdue, last fall, I was surprised to see that she wanted to go to Dakshin. After all, there was so much on campus now, and I'd just brought her a truckload of Indian goodies from home! Not to mention that Purdue is supposed to have some of the best dining hall food in the country. But away we went, to grab her gobi manchurian, and after a few bites I saw why - it's undeniably spicy, evoking the level of spice you get with dishes in India. The place is also canteen-like in nature: customer service is a non-parameter, and the food speaks for itself. I took my parents a few months later during a visit and they stuck to their typical North Indian orders (despite Dakshin offering South Indian food): chole bhatura for dad, parotta-kurma for mom, and chili paneer for me. All three lived up, with my father even buying extras for later in the week! When an Indian dad willingly pays for extra Indian food to take to a household where cooking is a daily occurrence, you know you have a win on your hands.

Great Service, but Extremely Disappointing Food…read more I decided to give Saffron a try today after seeing so many positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience fell well short of expectations. We ordered several dishes, starting with the Chicken Tikka Masala, which was incredibly underwhelming. It lacked spice and flavor, which was disappointing considering how rich and flavorful this dish typically is. We also ordered the Chicken 65, and unfortunately, that was another miss. The taste was unpleasant, and neither dish left us wanting another bite. To make matters worse, we discovered a long strand of hair in our garlic naan, which was honestly pretty off-putting. We also ordered papadum that never made it to our table. Thankfully, we weren't charged for it, but it was still another oversight during an already disappointing dining experience. I do want to give credit where it's due: the customer service was good, and I appreciated that. However, good service can only go so far when the quality of the food doesn't match. I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant, especially given its glowing reviews, but between the lackluster flavors, missing appetizer, and hair in our naan, I can't say I'll be returning. Unfortunately, this one was a miss for me.

We arrived close to opening, so it wasn't busy. Lively Indian music was playing in the background, it was very noticeable since there was no one inside when we arrived. The first thing that caught my attention was my water cup. It had a lot of lint on it, which made me nervous to drink from it. I asked for another cup, but then noticed a bug in that one. Thankfully, the server had no issue replacing it again. We started with the aloo gobi spicy, and that was great as usual. The garlic naan was also delicious and one of the highlights of the meal. My dad and I both ordered the butter chicken spicy, and this is where things went downhill. There was basically no spice at all. It tasted more like a level 0 for spice. The server offered a red sauce to spice it up (I think it was sriracha), but it just wasn't the same. We also only received one portion of rice, when usually each butter chicken comes with its own rice. The sauce was much runnier than normal, and the chicken to sauce ratio was uneven between our dishes. Unfortunately, we left dissatisfied with this visit. Not sure if there was a different cook today, but I'm hoping this was just an off day because I've enjoyed this place in the past and would love to see it back on point next time.
