All of their food was creamy and extremely oily, full of ghee(Indian form of butter). Even their bread was soaked in butter! Above all the service was abysmal! The lady on the counter was rude and pretentious! I asked her for a spoon. First of all, she didn't give it to me right away and asked me if I had it on my table already. When she did bring it, I was sitting on my table, and she literally threw it on the edge of the table where I was sitting with my family, immediately turned away and left! My friend and I went there for dinner, and wasn't planning on getting buffet, but if you are ordering 2+ dishes, it's bascially the same price to get buffets. Foods were generally delicious, with quite a few choices. Tandoori chickens were really tender, and lamb curries were delish! But I felt a little bothered when I was checking out. Best Indian Food and Great Service!! I have tried all Indian places in Lafayette and Sharma's kitchen offers the best selection. I love their Goat Curry, Naan, Tandoori Chicken, Paneer and Dal Makhani. Sharma's kitchen is the only restaurant that serves Indian street food option in buffet - chaat and paani puri. The service is great and they are very accommodating. I went there with five other friends on Friday night and even though they were busy, they got us a table in few minutes. Our server was very friendly and the owner (lady) made sure we have everything we need. Buffet food was hot and they serve fresh/warm naan on the table - plenty of naan options to choose from. Sharma's is one of our newest favorites. I love the rotating buffet (although the staples are always there) and the NAAN! There's 3 different kinds to choose from - regular, garlic and spicy. I liked it and plan on going back! Clean. Easy to have a conversation with your meal partners. Great naan. Although, I'm not sure I've figured out their system of ordering from the menu. The two meals we ordered seemed to be served family style, with the dishes all mixed up. Or perhaps they misheard our order? Didn't matter. We were happy with the food. In a strip mall, easy to find and plenty of parking. Although it was tough to navigate around all the road construction going on at the time. But the restaurant was less crowded, so that worked for us. Seems to be run by a family? Good service, but they seemed a bit bored with the job and I sensed they "enjoyed" the customers. Went here with my hubby on recommendation from a friend. Lunch is buffet only but comes with naan and a hot dish of cheese cubes with the option of chicken. We got the garlic naan and it was delicious. There were many vegetarian options that were all tasty, but pretty mild as far as spice/heat. They offer a menu full of authentic dishes as well as a full buffet that offers a sampling of their feature dishes. We chose the buffet. Immediately a sizzling plate of chicken kabob and naan was brought out. The food was hot and fresh and full of flavor. It is hard to write a review when you didn't get to eat at all. Six of us landed at Sharma's Kitchen around 9PM on a Saturday. The restaurant was supposed to be opened until 10PM per Yelp, Google, Trip Advisor and the door sign itself. However, as soon as we entered, we were politely told that the restaurant was closed and we were welcome the following day. It was a disappointment as we had a long day moving and were very hungry. We have unfortunately moved away from Lafayette and we have yet to find an Indian restaurant that comes close to the quality of Sharma's Kitchen. It is a small family owned restaurant; the husband is the head chef and the wife takes care of the front do the restaurant. Most of the servers have been there for years. This restaurant is the family's pride and joy and they give it all they have. They are friendly, they work hard, and they try to accommodate many different cultures. The Buffett is amazing. Sharma's Kitchen is the best Indian food in town. The review Kim wrote is not nice. They do have servers that are young and I think they do just fine. Calling high-schoolers nerdy is not very nice. Their food is always excellent. I love when they make biryani. The owners frequently greet their customers and make sure that everything is going well.
