All I can say about Sharkey's is... Praise GOD, HALLELUJAH, and thank you Lord JESUS for the miracle workers at Sharkey's! My 1.5 year old son hates getting his hair cut. Hell, he hates when I even brush his hair! He's brought weaker, less skilled hairstylists to their knees with his explosive tantrums... but not Sharonda. Sharonda is a veteran hair stylist, a warrior sent from Christ Himself, to come and tame my devil child's wild mane. Seriously though, she's an absolute angel. When my boy is having a full out cry-fest, Sharonda is not phased one bit. She's calm, collected, super fast, and gives a bad ass cut (even when my boy is spinning his head around like he's possessed). It also helps that Sharkey's has every trick up its sleeve to try and appease/distract your crying wiggle worm: fun car-shaped seats, TVs at every station showing everything from baby shark to Cocomelon, balloons, lollipops, and little giveaways. Though none of these were enough to stop my sweet little burden from screaming his head off, by the end of our last visit he was actually fighting me to stay after the cut was all done. Progress! Make sure to make an appointment before you show up. Their online schedule is super easy and convenient. Also, adults must be masked and they do temperature checks at the door. Upon arrival there's a sign on the door that says to text/call them before entering, but normally someone just unlocks the door if they're not busy. read more

We love it here and have heard they are going to close in the next month but they don't know when. It's really a great place for kids with cut chairs and screens and the kids get a dum dum and balloon after. My kid really looks forward to coming here and has always had an excellent hair cut. We will miss this place. read more

Took us quick we had not even had an appointment. They were super sweet to my granddaughter and quick, and even offered extras that she loved. We've been there before and we'll go back again. read more

We loved sharkeys. Great cuts, great atmosphere. Would recommend for little boys (and girls)

Came in for a walk in - waited for an hour - finally someone checked walk in list said we were next and then went on lunch. Still waiting. Kiddo waited so patiently- we finally left. Make an appointment- walk in is a joke. read more

Great quality haircut for a good price. Got us right in and done in 15min! Very kind stylists.

Haircut experience was very much enjoyed by my 7 year old. I scheduled a wash, cut, and blow dry; didn't get the blow dry but she got a manicure and a souvenir. The place is pretty noisy which is expected but the high ceilings didn't help. read more

My daughter had her hair cut on Friday and I am beyond disappointed. Savar cut her bangs and they are uneven, choppy, and shorter than what was asked. My MIL took my daughter so I am not able to comment on the customer service but I am extremely upset about the poor quality of work. If she did not feel comfortable with performing the work she should have disclosed that instead of doing the terrible job that she did. read more

My son got his hair cut here at Sharkey's for the first time, we usually go to somewhere else but due to the covid, the place we used to go to before was experiencing high volume. I looked online for good hair places for kids and found Sharkey's. Ms. Alma was who cut my sons hair. She managed to keep him calm and was a good conversationalist with him. His haircut looks great thank you Ms.Alma and Sharkey's team. At the moment they are only seeing by appointment but it's easy, you can call them or go online, in our case we called 2 days in advance and were able to book . I would recommend this place we had a good experience. Masks are required and only one parent is allowed inside. read more

My granddaughter has very curly hair and usually cries when brushing her hair. Amy is so good with her. She puts a lot of conditioner in first before combing through her hair. No tears! Amy does a great job cutting granddaughter's hair. read more

Took our daughter here for her first haircut. I showed Alma photos but she quickly cut the bangs at least half an inch too short, and choppy/uneven. It looks terrible. Like a bowl cut across my daughters face (no attempt at face-framing, etc). To make things worse, we didn't even get the keepsake piece of hair or 1st haircut certificate. I was so upset over the bad haircut in the moment that I didn't realize her hair had already been thrown away. When I booked the appointment I said it would be her first haircut & I wanted the special 1st haircut package. I said this AGAIN when we came in the morning of the appointment. Why was that not communicated to our stylist? Lack of attention and detail, and a bad haircut. I can't imagine a worse first haircut experience. Needless to say, we won't go back. read more

Town lake location was a horrible experience for the second time in a row.My baby's haircut look liked a mushroom instead of a neat cut.It was all uneven.the back of his hair is all uneven as well.Due to his curly hair she should have made it all even.I don't mind paying high price for a good quality haircut. But unfortunately there prices don't meet with the cut they give. read more

Took my niece today in the morning and Nancy was patient and awsome. I will be taking all my nieces and nephews from now on.

We've had consistently great experiences at Sharkey's. My older son has been going here for over a year and the stylists are always thoughtful about layering his hair so his curls look great. Today, our stylist was Amy and she was so wonderful to squeeze in our younger son (20 months) for his first haircut, even though we'd only booked for our older son. She did a really fantastic job on both kids. read more

This review is for the Heights location Saturday 12/7/24 in the afternoon. My son's haircut was great. However, the lady who cut my daughter's hair was rude and did a terrible, rushed job. Don't know her name because she never introduced herself, but she was the only lady wearing glasses. It seems she had an appointment that arrived while she had already started with my daughter's hair, so she was particularly rude and just wanted us out. She argued with me on how much to cut off, to add soft layers or frame her face. She literally cut my daughter's bangs straight across, as opposed to tapered like most hair dressers know and are trained yo do. She was just so unfriendly, even toward my 5 year old daughter. She said she didn't have time to paint her nails with the cut (though it comes with it) because her appointment was waiting. So, if you're the owner or supervisor and know who was on shift yesterday around 1 pm, with glasses, older lady, then I do think she should be written up. Maybe suggest to her to find another profession as she's really not good with kids and bad at cutting hair. read more

I attended the Greater Heights Chamber of commerce event. We had a ribbon cutting ceremony here in Sharkey's cut for kids. I went inside.I saw a lot of sharks. The sharks were very friendly to me. Basically, this hair salon was for kids. I asked the owner if You could cut my hairs. I was not a kid. She said " yes". I went for it. I could play X-box, While she was cutting my hairs. I really enjoyed a game. After my hair cut. the owner game me some candy.Yeah!!!!! This looked like McDonalds of hair salon. I mean kids really can enjoy here. Please, please, please visit here. read more

Sharkeys cuts for kids memorial location was a horrible place to work at. The hair stylists were very unprofessional they would bully and get into fights with each other and in front of clients! The manager Adriana would just watch and not do anything about it Unfortunately there was a lot of racism from the hair stylist Yesika which absolutely disgusted me! In my opinion everyone needs to be fired by the owner and the owner needs to do a better job of what kind of people he has working for him at his business. read more

No matter which stylist does the haircut at this location, or how well I explain what I want, or how many times I show the same picture of what I want for my son, I get the same uneven bowl cut. Absolutely never coming back again. First off the toys are excessive isn't he front that produces a huge distraction to kids. Second, my sons hair is clearly not done evenly. There is hair sticking out as if the clippers didn't touch AND THERE ARE PATCHES. This establishment should be ashamed of themselves. I will happily pay a high price for quality work. But they will take your money happily, not acknowledge your existence and do crappy work. Never again. read more

I cannot give enough credit to Alma! My son is autistic and is extremely sensitive around his ears and neck and Alma talked him through the process, let him pick which car he wanted although it wasn't her station she accommodated and didn't fuss. Once it came to the part where she had to use a machine around his neck and ears she even let him hold the end of the machine to make it seem as if he was cutting his own hair so the experience would be cool and exciting for him. I have gone to a specific haircut place before where their stylist are trained to deal with autistic kids but the last two times I took my son one stylist rolled her eyes telling him "it's just a haircut to relax" and the second time a different location, different stylist told him "if you stay still I wouldn't take so long son." I am extremely happy to have found Sharkey's and Alma! read more

My son is 18 months old. He has a full head of hair. It should not be a challenge to cut. He was glued to the TV screen the entire session and moved in the chair no more than adult. However, he received a totally uneven haircut. I asked for a trim they cut it extremely close. The bangs are shorter than the sides. The bangs are totally uneven. There are random long strips of hair on the sides that were not cut at all. And they cut the back extremely high. It looks like he cut his hair himself. I cannot imagine it going much worse, and with no excuse. This was an unchallenging haircut to give with a perfectly Still child with a fully grown head of hair. Absolute disaster. You would've thought there was an earthquake going on at the time. Do not go here. read more

My son has been growing his hair out for a few months and finally wanted it cut. We went to Sharkey's for the first time, hoping they could do a better job than I do at home. The stylist made a show of asking what we wanted, and I explained that I wanted it left long on top with long bangs at least down to his eyebrows. When it came time to cut the top the stylist started to cut the bangs very short. I stopped her and told her no, we want it long on top. She combed his hair, cut the bangs long to make me happy, then swooped up the hair on top and cut it all short, bangs and all. He walked out with the exact same hair cut as the two kids who walked out as we were walking in. Look, if you only do one haircut don't bother asking what we want. We will never return, and we caution anyone else to go anywhere but this place. read more

Poorly run shop. This shop definitely addresses a market need: kids haircut place in busy family neighborhood. But they rely on that market need and don't care about customers. Inconsistent haircuts-sometimes good sometimes not even with the same stylists. Stylists don't keep appointments. On Saturday the shop is a mess. We're done with Sharkey's. read more

very disappointed of my kid's hair cut. On January 16th, Kayla did a hideous job and on top of that she had a really bad attitude. Hey sharkey! We love this place but cannot make it here due to terrible parking. You need to get the building to reserve ~3-4 spots for your business since Lola customers overwhelm the lot. I have tried coming on 3 separate occasions and each time circle around several times and then end up going to your competitors due to inability to park...I'm sure I'm not the only one. I wonder how much this effects your profits ...if it were my business I'd try to get the spots. Just saying. Anyway great place when you can get a spot :) read more

Won't be coming back. I've been taking my son for a few years now and continued to drive back even though we moved from the heights. First offense- a new lady butchered his hair right before my sisters wedding (he was the ring bearer). She had no clue what she was doing. I tried a few times to correct her and showed her what a mess she was making. In her broken English she blamed it on his hair. I was furious but figured there was nothing we could do as i didn't want his hair any shorter. We returned for his next haircut and had one of the more experienced ladies do it. She took a look at his hair and asked who cut his hair last and glanced towards the new lady- i said yep it was her. She understood (she knew what a butcher she was) and thankfully fixed it. I returned once more for his haircut and my 2.5 year old daughters FIRST haircut. They did a fine job cutting both- they even set aside a little lock of her hair for me to take home. As i was paying i asked where her hair was...she acted confused and sure enough it was all vacuumed up...just like another poster said. I mean your job is not difficult, you took a precious memory away from my daughter and you act like its no big deal and offer no apology or compensation. Im officially done with Sharkey's. read more

My name is Kaleb Golden, and for the past six or more years, I have been a consistent patron of Sharkey's Cuts for Kids. Every time I enter the salon, I am greeted by the friendly smiles of EVERY single employee. Until it is my turn, I normally wait in their lounge area. I have been seeing Ms. Alma since I got my first ever haircut. She is not only a gifted hairdresser, a go-getter, and a caring person; she is also a member of my family. I adore how she engages with clients, cultivates personal connections with them, and makes an effort to get to know them on a deeper level. Ms. Alma takes extra precautions when cutting hair, and she will make sure you don't experience any pain when she is cutting your hair. She always goes above and beyond, and I appreciate how she makes sure that you are satisfied with your hair. I highly recommend Ms. Alma. read more

I can not begin to express how upset i am at the service from this place. no parent should go through this ever. The hair stylists were very unprofessional. This location is a location is suppoused to have a leading stylist for austistic children. Brought my special needs son for a hair cut. But will no longer take after this vist. My son being Speacial needs has issues with communication as he is non verbal. Often throws tantrums due to not being able express his feelings. So as usual. he throws a fit. The lady that did the haircut Is pregant and i belive her name is Valery. unsure. As i checked out this same lady told me that I should hit my son. and that i should not buy him a toy that I was buying for him as he was misbehaving. No one, should ever tell you to hit your kids or that you shouldnt buy him a toy all be because he was misbehaving due to him being special needs. This is a place of buissness not parenting classes. Again this is a place that is suppoused to make you and your kids feel safe. Especially if you kids is special needs. Instead i left feeling like ive done something wrong. read more

Our son has been getting his haircut at Sharkey's for almost 5 years, using the membership program. We tried most (4) of the stylists at the beginning, until we found Adriana. She was the only one who could really work with my kiddo's crazy hair. But then she left. Since we have a membership, we were locked into the Yale location, so decided to give Amy, the new stylist, a try. We booked online. We arrived for our appointment, but she had left for the day. Irma ended up cutting his hair. It was uneven. The next time he needed a cut, I made an appt online with Amy, and again, she left and wasn't available. Irma cut his hair again. Because of his cowlick (which i mentioned to her), it looked like he had a chunk missing in the front. It was extremely unprofessional for Amy to skip out on our appts twice. The next month, I booked with Irma and talked more about how to treat the cowlick. She did better, but it still wasn't a great cut. I feel locked in because of the membership, so I tried to Irma again for this week. She wasn't available, so I booked with Amy. The shop wasn't open at 10 (our appt time) and I had to call so she'd know we were there. She was cleaning in the back and didn't know anyone was at the door. I mentioned his cowlick and how to work around it, but the cut looks awful. We tried for 4 months to make it work there since we have a membership, but I just can't continue to take my son there to get poor cuts. I reached out to the owner via Facebook messenger several times. They read the messages but never responded. read more

We only come here because my kids like to sit in the fun cars. The ladies are rude and their system is a mess. If you sign in that you have an appointment they'll call you before everyone else, even if you don't actually have an appointment. Lucia butchered my son's hair, then proceeded to get an attitude and left his chair in the middle of the appointment. Adriana refused to give me the owner's contact information and said there was nothing she could do even though she was in charge. She said she doesn't have his number and just comes in whenever he feels like it and for me to find him on Facebook. The cute chairs aren't worth it, we'll be going elsewhere from now on. read more

I went here once and they did me dirty bro I asked for the woman to cut half of my hair and i ended up with like 1/8 of my hair.
