Almost all of my piercings have been done by her and she has done multiple swaps for me. The jewelry is top quality and not the cheap garbage you find at most places. It's a bit more expensive but you pay for what you get, which is quality jewelry and exceptional work. Today I got both ears pierced right above the lobe and a jewelry swap. I originally wanted my double lobes re-pierced (Claire's really messed me up 10 years ago) but due to the scar tissue and my anatomy it wasn't possible. Placement was perfect; exactly what I had hoped for. She gave me great info and care instructions. I have virtually no swelling and very little pain. Lucina Winters was a pleasure to work with! I had planned to get my piercings done at another location but didn't realize they were closed earlier since it was a Sunday. Since I was so set on getting my piercings done I actually ended up browsing other shops that seemed promising and reputable and came across Sharkbite Piercings. It was about 5:30 and they close at 7 on Sundays so I called to ask if walk-ins were welcomed (they are!) but I recommend setting up an appointment just in case they're already working with another client before closing but I just happened to be lucky that she was wrapping up with a session before I arrived. She said she's willing to stick around as long as she knows the walk-in is for sure going to show up! It's not local to me and I did have to drive a bit but it was well worth it. She made me feel comfortable, was super easy to converse with, and so knowledgeable about her field that you can definitely tell she has a true passion for what she does. I got double nostrils (which she took her time with to make sure they were positioned to her liking and in the best spot,) my medusa, and an upper cartilage ear piercing done by her. From my past experiences from low quality shops, I had no expectations for the jewelry that was going to be used. If anything I thought it would be the standard metal ones but there is a pretty amazing selection of quality jewelry to pick from! Some might think that $40+ is too much but these are things you should invest in if they're going to be in your body! Now that I have cute quality jewelry to start with, I don't have to feel eager to switch them out before they can properly fully heal (guilty in the past lol.) I plan on going back to downsize my piercings once they fully heal since she said she can sell me shorter new posts for them, and I'm definitely going to get my septum done then! I first met Lucina at her Fullerton location when I got my belly pierced by another piercer in that shop. I had a really bad experience with my belly piercing. Thanks to Lucina, it turned out I was having a bad reaction to my belly piercing. Even though she wasn't the one that pierced me she was very genuine when it came to understanding the cause for my reaction. She was very informative and cared for me as if I was her client. Long story short I happened to be allergic to the material of my jewelry. She recommended me titanium which is healthier for sensitivity. Not only is her work clean and efficient, but I feel that one of the things a lot of piercers don't put much attention to is truly highlighting the aftercare.
