I walked away from both of those transactions with a bad taste in my mouth about RE agents and a general overall feeling of sleaziness about the whole industry. In my most recent home purchase Sharon Seabury changed my perception of the RE industry completely. Well at least the small part of it that she occupies. The woman was a true professional and couldn't have worked harder on my purchase. Her previous professional experience both in the business & technology sectors is another great example of what makes her standout from the RE agent crowd. She just doesn't look at the transaction as solely an RE transaction, she looks at it from every angle. My purchase was a bit of an unusual situation and Sharon was "on" night & day seven days a week. She was extremely responsive to my queries and was on top of the mortgage company and the sellers agent from day one to insure everything was being done properly and on time. After selling my last house I swore I would never use an RE agent to sell a house again and would use a sold by owner service. Well if I go to sell my current home and Sharon Seabury is still in the RE business I will give her my house to sell.

I am convinced that we got top dollar for our house because of the timing and price we put it out at. Steve held an open house on both Saturday and Sunday and we had 2 offers over asking by Sunday night. The sale of our home was quick and easy. As for using them as a buying agent, they constantly offered properties that contained all of our "must haves". Besides that, they were able to get us into houses that were not even on the market yet. When we finally found our dream house, we one of 12 offers on the house. Based on their expertise, our offer was competitive and complete. The selling agent told me that we were the only offer to come in with all paperwork filled out completely and correctly. Because of Steve and Tiff's attention to detail, we got the house we wanted at a very fair price. I can't recommend them enough. I had my armory of defenses: "Uhm, no, that's too soon" "no, that is NOT in my price-range" "no, I'm just not ready." I was very pleasantly surprised. Not only did Blake not pressure me into buying asap, he took the time to explain everything to me and was extremely patient with my questions, letting me go through the process on my terms. I was reassured when he said that he's worked with some people for a few weeks and others close to a year. He was always available to schedule showings for me with little notice (+), extremely understanding when I wrestled with myself because 'it's just such a huge decision!' (another +), and most importantly, took his job seriously and was extremely professional (a major +). I care a lot about what I do and expect nothing less from others. Blake delivered. He has a lender and an attorney that he works with and while I never felt pressured to use them, I appreciated that it was a well oiled machine when I had to close in 4 weeks rather than the customary 6. Now, here I am sitting pretty in my new home (well, it could use a new coat of paint, but yes, not Blake's responsibility :) Could I have done it on my own, with one of those cheapo-agent substitute sites? Maybe, I'm fairly smart I'd like to think. But I would have been overwhelmed and too invested in whatever I was looking at, leading to a rushed decision (exactly what I hoped to avoid). Or given up (also not great). So, would I recommend Blake to a friend buying a new home? Yes, absolutely. Why 4 stars rather than 5? Well, It's only my first home so I don't know if it's 'as good as it gets' but certainly 'Yay! I'm a fan'. Did I mention my standards are high?
