I ordered a new key fob for my Toyota Venza. Suzette Lerma who originally one who helped my daughter and I. We asked about ordering one off Amazon but she sounded like they have had problems with that before bc then you have to pay the dealership to program it. So I asked how much a key fob would be if I bought it from you today and she said $350. I thought well for the convenience of getting it right now I'd pay the $350. Then she tells me I have to wait until tomorrow to see if they have it in stock if not it could be a few more days. So I paid and left. After 9 days I called bc I hadn't heard anything and James looked it up and said well I'll have to call you back in a few mins so I can see if that came in or not. I said ok. So then I ended up talking mostly to A J and he said yes the part was in but I would need to schedule an hour appointment and pay an additional $160 programming charge. I was totally shocked as an additional fee was NEVER mentioned unless I wanted the slip in key for $60 but I didn't. I told A J that she didn't tell me there would be an additional fee. He said well I always tell my customers about this charge and I said well you weren't the one that helped us. I said if I would have known I would have gone a different route so I'll have to call you back. It was a waste of time calling A J back bc he was very sarcastic and patronizing to me. He said he asked Suzette about the charge and she said she told us and miraculous A J now remembers hearing her tell me that too. I said most of the time you weren't even near us. Well he say I heard it. I said then you are lying. He said so you are saying both of us are lying I said yes you are. My daughter and I bother were talking with her. I said I'll just come and get my money back and he said that's fine but you will be charged a 20% restock charge. I went right up there and prayed for God to help me not argue with A J. It would have to be an absolute emergency for me to use this service department. Honestly they acted like they didn't even want me as a customer. read more

The folks in the Service Dept at Shapen Toyota are wonderful and saved our road trip! We are heading home for the holidays from Portland, OR to Lafitte, LA and had some service done at Beaverton Toyota in Oregon the day before we left. While on the road, our Prius started making a flapping noise - that got really bad on the long stretch through Texas. We pulled over to inspect it and realized that the underbody cover was barely hanging on - the screws that were left were so loose they were able to be screwed in by hand - and we tied the rest of it back together with what we had on hand. The Beaverton crew couldn't have tightened it back up after the service was finished. The folks at Shapen in Marshall took care of it for us right away and were so nice about it! Terrible experience. Internet buyer. Double talk and just straight lies. Wanted to charge 1800 for some ceramic coating (but if I used Toyota Finance, they would lower the cost..not to mention the three hard credit hits I told them not to do). I said no on both. They went onto say that the add on was already put on the vehicle and they wouldn't sell the vehicle without the extra cost. I said ok I'm walking, but they countered and I finally agreed to $350 just because I was tired of the back and forth game with the salesman/sales manager. The old wear the customer down dealer strategy. Flew in to pick up the vehicle noticed no super duper ceramic coating add on, not even a wax job (paint rough to the feel). Just a bold face lie. Asked about two keys prior but they would never answer. Only one set. New smart FOB $350. Asked if any paint work...nope. Front bumper was definitely painted. Always had good online internet buying but this experience cured me of ever doing it again. Buyer beware read more

We were traveling home after having to evacuate due to Hurricane Ida when we experienced car trouble. We were 2 miles from the dealership when the service light came on; we went in and they were able to quickly assist us with determining the problem, securing parts, and getting us back up and running so we could finish our trip back home. I am so appreciative of the staff from the dealership that was pleasant and very helpful to us in a time that was already stressful. Thank you! We appreciate the efforts you took to be sure we were able to get back on the road that day. I thank God that He saw fit for us to be near the dealership at this time and that we would be reminded of His faithfulness in the small and large details of life. The employees there were so kind, especially Kim who brought us drinks, snacks and let us take over the waiting room. Shapen Toyota completely screwed over my husband and I. We're a military family and buying a car in different states is difficult because you don't know the states rules and regulations. They completely took advantage of us. Sold us a car saying it had lots of work done to it, come to find out it had no work done to it. Brought it back to them to get everything fixed and it took them over a week. Meanwhile they gave us a disgustingly filthy, old car to drive for the week. After getting my car back i noticed some things not working after about a day (the horn and headlights which they "fixed") so i again asked for a list of everything done to the car (which i asked for before they did any work to it) and i constantly asked for it for 2 MONTHS before giving up on the salesman and calling service directly who after a few days sent me the list of services done. Only a few of the things the car needed were done. We then contacted Toyotas corporate head quarters and opened up a case with them. Shapen was supposed to get in touch with us within 1 business day to discuss the case. It's been over a month of trying to get in contact and even having HQ try to get in contact with them and no one will give us a call back. I'm too afraid to drive my car because I can't get a LA inspection sticker due to the horn and lights not working so it would not pass. Absolutely horrible, sleazy, money hungry people running this Toyota. I wish i could go back in time and stop myself from giving them by business. read more
